Floyd Mayweather’s Fear Of Facing Mosley Is REAL
February 1st, 2010 | by Defyance Carlos Cinco
Yes, you heard me. Floyd Mayweather’s fear of facing “Sugar” Shane Mosley on the 1st of May is legit. In fact, I believe Floyd Mayweather is scared to fight anyone who has remotely any capabality of hurting him, let alone in his division. I know what you are thinking. How can a professional prize fighter be afraid to go out there and do his job, which is to physically subdue his opponent using sanctioned violence? It is your job as a boxer to deliver the pain and punishment against the opposition and part of that job is to take your own dose of damage. So why is Floyd Mayweather scared you ask? Because he lacks experience in fighting the best out there.
Yes, he may have fought Jose Luis Castillo, Diego Corrales and Zab Judah. But that was more than 4 years ago! Since then, he has fought a myriad of tune-up fights packaged as marquee matchups via clever marketing strategy and “hype”. In his fights over the past 4 years, he has gone largely untested. Mayweather likes to run his mouth saying how great he is but anyone with any sense can tell what’s really going on, his excessive braggery is a guise for his lack of self confidence. It’s why we have internships, because you just can’t do the job well until you’ve been met with some challenges and passed the tests.
Mayweather’s last 3 fights over the last 4 years:
1. VS Oscar Dela Hoya (Dela Hoya was over the hill when Mayweather fought him just as much as when Pacquiao fought him, he was also really really slow) RESULT: Not a legitimate challenge.
2. VS Ricky Hatton (Hatton being perfect for Mayweather’s style, the smaller man having to move up to a weight division he was not comfortable in) RESULT: Not a legitimate challenge.
3. VS Juan Manuel Marquez (An even smaller man than Hatton, forced to move up two weight divisions, Mayweather also took an extra 2 pound advantage by not following the catchweight) RESULT: Not a legitimate challenge.
We got tricked into buying these PPV’s thinking they were even matchups, when all we were really being sold was that “magic slimming belt that would guarantee you lose 30 lbs. in 3 weeks by not doing anything”.
What’s the point? Nothing really. I just want to say that I believe Mayweather’s fear is real. Hence the delay to sign the contract against Mosley and the demand for an immediate rematch clause. I can’t blame him, anyone would be scared to fight Shane Mosley right now.
He doubts himself just once against Mosley, and Sugar Shane will take him out. I still think Mayweather has the skills to beat Mosley easily because he is THAT gifted of a fighter to earn my respect, but I’m just saying.
Mayweather is scared.

floyd has the talent but not the guts… :-(
Hesitant to fight, not scared.
But who knows, they are under the same promotion.
Maybe Goldenboy arranged something for the two that Mayweather found comfort in doing this fight.
I see good 24/7 episodes happening... I'm excited for this fight.:boxing:
Floyd's not a coward bro. In my view he just isn't selfish. You hear alot of fighters with families say things like they are willing to die in the ring etc etc or do this and do that........Floyd is just realistic....boxing is a dirty business.....no one puts their hand up to look after you or pay you a pension if something bad happens to you. He looks after nubmer 1 and thats him and his family. Number 2 is the fans and the sport. I won't begrude the man for that.
He is a safety first fighter.....if he can win with minimal engagement he will do so....and it's his responsibility to his kids to win in that way if he can. This style of boxing has been drilled into his brain since he was able to walk.....he's not going to suddenly turn into a brawler unless the occassion calls for it. The reason other guys are what you would term "more exciting" is because they can't do what Floyd can. They can't completely outclass a quality opponent for 12 rds and barely get touched....it's not in their skill set. Believe me if a fighter can get out of the way of a shot and avoid getting punched in the face...he will do it.
He is not afraid of Mosley or any fighter for that matter...and he is not afraid of losing...he just doesn't want too....it reduces his bargaining power. It would almost be better if he took a loss early in his career....it would take the pressure off.....i mean seriously he is held to such a high standard (higher than all other boxers) that people can find a fault with all of his 40 wins. Even when he puts on boxing clinics (which i found entertaining) like baldo, JMM he gets criticised for winning all 12 rds and not getting the KO...when most other fighters would just get lavished with praise.
LMFAO...Floyd, the self-less boxer. My god I can't believe you actually said that.
He's that afraid of fighting Shane he's fighting him on May 1. Hmmmmmmmmm go figure.
At least he don't make excuses up about needles to get out of fights
link that pacman said he is afraid of needle would be helpful :D :bottle:
so fukkin stupid, how the fukk do u know if he is afraid or not???, how do u know what he is thinking, u dont know him at all.....idiots
i just keep thinking of mosley getting outboxed by cotto, thern i think mayweather is better than cotto, then i see floyd raising his hand and taking shanes belt....
He's that afraid of fighting Shane he's fighting him on May 1. Hmmmmmmmmm go figure.
At least he don't make excuses up about needles to get out of fights
Floyd is still a chicken. Why would it take him 5 years to fight a 39 year old Mosley?
I mean Pac been at the Welterweight Division in less than a year and he can fight Cotto and Clottey just like that.
Floyd never hard the balls to begin with
Pac has fought nothing but letfovers...nothing more. A weight drained already beat by Floyd Oscar, A damaged already Ko'd by Margarito Cotto, an already ko'd while he was undefeated by Floyd Hatton and now an already beaten by Cotto Clottey. Floyd paid his due years ago and he's out to make the biggest check now, its called prize fighting for a reason. Face it before every Floyd fight they say the same thing this guys is the toughest Floyd has ever fought but right after they say he was too small or too old or overated, please.Talk all the trash you want, you haters will never give Floyd his props no matter who he beats. Unfortunatley you ignore the facts and rely on fantasy. Fact: Pac is a great fighter but his skills are inferior to Floyd and he only has a punchers chance, thats why Team Pac duck the Floyd fight. Fact: Floyd will not lose to Mr. close you eyes when you punch Mosley. The same guy who cant cut off the ring and gets out of focus when a stiff jab is put in his face. Mosely= a power puncher will inferior skills. Shane will get embarassed.
Skills baby! Nothing but the skills.
when shane jumped in the ring and called floyd out to his face people were saying that floyds is scared of mosley, floyd is duckin mosley, etc.... now the fight is happening and they're still complaining.
Those are the Pac fans trying to discredit all that PBF does...I guess thy r still mad PBF asked Pac for that drug test

Yea but he is fight SSM...Pac wudnt do that and SSM said he wud go down to 140....YOU AND THIS THREAD FAIL!!!

Floyd never hard the balls to begin with
Floyd called out Mosely years ago and Shane was making excuses about his toothache (no lie!) and how he wants to go on a vacation-that's 2 damn times! Shane called out Floyd only once after Floyd's win with Marquez and was not interested, because he wanted to line up a lucrative bout that the whole damn world wanted to see with Manny Pacquiao-so where is the logic-he's a coward for taking on the biggest fight with Manny???-He can't fight 2 guys at once.
Once the Manny fight fell through (I bet you blame Floyd for Manny not wanting to take the requested blood tests,eh?)Floyd was more than happy to take the Mosely fight. Keep in mind, the time Floyd has been at welter,he has been retired for half of it.
The fact that Manny is fighting a post-Margarito version of Cotto and a man in Clottey who couldn't get past this version of Cotto, just shows a habit his team has for sticking him in against certain types of fighters.Look at the whole picture-when Floyd does something-you guys are insulting and calling names like "duck" or "dodge", yet when Manny takes the same guys on AFTER Floyd beat em,you call him a hero or a legend-it's unbelievable!

With a Pacquiao picture on your sig,it's no wonder you talk this rubbish.Let's face it-Manny has been facing the SAME limited style one dimensional brawlers that pose no challenge OVER and OVER,he drains em,makes sure they don't have a decent right hand, makes sure they are on their way out of the sport or on their last legs etc,etc-yet you are bitching about Mayweather fighting someone not within his weight class? At least when Floyd took on Oscar he didn't need to shrink him down.At least when he fought Hatton,he fought an UNDEFEATED one full of confidence and never beat up.In fact, name ONE decent boxer Manny has faced-I don't want to hear his victories over war-torn destroyed veteran fighters either-name me some undefeated,in-prime fighters....until he beats Mosely or Mayweather,he will always be a fighter who has wasted just as much of his potential fighting a certain style and not showing versatility.
As for Mayweather being scared of Mosely-wake up.You are just upset that Mayweather took a legitimate challenge, whereas Pacquiao is taking yet another predictable fight with another predictable opponent.Manny previously was chased by Shane, but Manny was too scared! Apparently if you are an inch above 5 foot 10 inches then Manny is too scared as well-just ask Yuri Foreman.

LOL you are a joker
floyd took the fight with de la hoya at 154 allowing oscar to pick everything from the ring to the gloves also he allowed oscar to outweigh him by at least 14 pounds!!!
hatton fight was over hyped but the guy was unbeaten!!! so represented a bigger challlenge
i think mayweather likes to hold the cards and make sure he has all the advantages thats why the pacman fight was so intriguing
floyd UDs mosleys ass believe me!!!
