This is the most entertaining, fresh and funniest boxing family Ive ever seen.
They all talk shit, they are all hilarious and they all have personalities.
Its a far cry from guys like Pac and Cotto who have the personality of a pothole.
Guys like Malignagii, Mayorga, Hopkins and Toney are GREAT for boxing they talk shit and they are entertaining as hell.
Floyd Jr.
Roger Mayweather
Mayweather Sr.
I wasn't being sarcastic dude. My bad, I know it kind of sounded like it. But I agree. I'm not going to lie. I was always a casual fan and was really into MMA. But Mannys brought an excitement to boxing I haven't seen since Tyson. He's the main reason Ive become a big fan of the sport. And now I'm always online catching up on fights and fighters that I never wouldve seen before.
I know you weren't I was just trying to keep Pac out of the conversation considering the group I was speaking to.
go back to my last post and I highlight it all you will see that I wrote something in WHITE font.
I saw, made me LOLs! Was about to rip into you but saw it in the quote
You really think smack talk has no mainstream appeal? Common you cant be serious.
Of course it does but it doesn't hold the attention of its not backed up. People like smack talkers that back it up. People are tired of hype jobs and Floyd's line is getting old.
Hardcore fans are what keeps a sport alive never the mainstream. The mainstream is part of what f#cked the sport up. Once the mainstream gets a hold of just about anything the quality of it goes down. Prime example is the actual boxing IQ of so called fans today. IMO yes the Mayweathers are good for boxing just like Manny, Cotto, Hopkins, Gamboa and many others.
Hardcore fans keep the sport alive between the mega-stars, however, its the mega stars like SRL, Tyson, DLH that keeps everyone hungry. Imagine where boxing would be today if Tyson, DLH and RJJ never fought.
I agree with this statement "Guys like Malignagii, Mayorga, Hopkins and Toney are GREAT for boxing they talk s**t and they are entertaining as hell".
I would only add this to the statement though: "Guys like Malignagii, Mayorga, Hopkins and Toney are GREAT for boxing they talk s**t and they are entertaining as hell because they are willing to fight anyone and everyone.
Mayweather maybe be a s**t talked but thats about it! Although he is good for boxing because he demands alot of attention and brings some non fans to the table with his cocky attitude and money ways. His bad out weight the good because he fails to make the fights the fans want to see, he is not an entertaining fighter for the casual fans, and his antics like calling the best boxer on the planet a steroid user make the collective sport look bad.
As for the entire Mayweather clan, they are like boxing's relatives that no one wants to invite to the party. Kinda like Randy Quaid in National Lampoons Family Vacation............
Its not that big of a deal but to say the Mayweathers are good for the sport...I really gotta disagree, especially when you consider they've recently criticized the sport with their testing drama. They are good for a select niche who like the smack talk and/or enjoy defensive fighters, however, neither of those really have mainstream appeal which is good for the sport.

I mean you can type all of that, but why did you invite them over? what you say just does not make sense.
alot of fighters promise things and they don't deliver on them. I remember Evander promised that he would knock out Lewis in the 3rd round, but he didn't. So don't get so hellbent on a fighter saying that will do something and they don't.
calm down dude, I CAN read. its not that serious i'm messing around....lol

*sigh* you guys have the reading comprehension of a 3rd grader. I DID NOT INVITE THESE PEOPLE OVER. They ordered the fight on their own accord (I didn't waste my money on this fight) and were dissapointed because there was such a huge hype built up thanks to PBF's promises and the pee incident.
Every fight doesn't need to be a war or end in a KO, however, thats what PBF promised but failed to deliver. Even to a fat, old outclassed JMM. How the hell is that good for boxing? Oh it made Floyd fans (who will buy his PPV's no matter what) happy? How does that help boxing as a whole?

Kind of like 50,000+ screaming fans for an action-packed bout with the "fighter on the decade" vs a solid ww contender in the most technically-advanced stadium in the world? Yup, that's how you get more fans involved!!
Love him or hate him, Pac has brought more fans to the sport than (even if you just include the Filipinos) anyone in recent history. Granted the majority of them will leave with him but I believe many will stay to watch the next generations go at it.
why did you invite them over then if it was a mismatch to begin with? I don't get that rationale sir.

Boxing clinic? More like he fought someone who didn't belong @ WW. The size disparity was a ****ing joke and everyone could see it.
Who says these people are my friends? They're co-workers and aquantances, not people I'd invite over to my house.
What is good for boxing is fighters and fights that get public attention and blows people away and keeps them crawling back for more not shit talkers that over promise and under-deliver.

Was it a boxing clininic yes or no??? You mean to tell me that you DIDNT know Floyd was taller, stronger and had a longer reach then him??

Since when do you have to KO everyone to be great. Last I checked Floyd is the Number 2 P4P fighter in boxing. You really ned to understand styles. I guess your just a casual fan and not a die hard. James Toney, Hopkins, Winky, Sweet Pea, Caderon. You need to do more research on the sweet science .
.
Bolded............

You have to have some serious hate for the Mayweathers to think they can entertain. Ali used to trash talk his opponents all the time and put on a show outside the ring as well. Sure, he was more likable but, you can hate the Mayweathers for doing the same.
Keep on hating fools.

i agree they are funny, they give me jokes, roger is the funniest, watching his interviews crack me up
Yea, I know that too, my point was that after watching that fight many got a negative view of boxing from that fight. In all honesty, if you were an unbiased newcomer to boxing and you just shelled out $65 (for HD) for that fight, do you think you'd be ordering another one soon again?
Floyd put on a PERFECT Boxing clinic. You should explained to your friends. THAT is how you box.
My post was in relation to his ability to bring people to the sport, not the dedicated hardcore fans. His mouth brings in people that watch WWE and Jersey Shore, however, his fights don't match his talk so they go watch some MMA bullshit instead.
Floyd isnt the only boxer in the sport. And you have dumb friends if they never watch boxing yet shell out $60 to watch a PPV.
Maybe you shouldve had them coe to your house and watch a B.A.D card or The Super 6. Then maybe they would understand the sport. Every fighter has a different style. I LOVE Floyds style. So do alot of people which is why so many buy his fights. Becaue hes DOMINANT and barely loses rounds. If you dont like Pure boxers feel free to watch back alley spinning back hand UFC trash.
Bolded........................
No I dont know tell me....lololol... I know over 1,000,000 watched it.

Guess what. Mayweather been boxing for over a decade you know what you get with him. Defense, speed, reflexes and accuracy.

Floyd hasn't even talked in a minute. They are negotiationing right now. Fights are not just worked out and signed at the drop of a hat. The fight will get signed when its finalized. But a minute sooner. We as fans need to have patience. I mean I am a fan of BOTH of these fighters, I've waited for this fight for about 10 years now, so what is a few more days????
Pac vs. Cotto took forever to sign.
Pac vs. Hatton took forever to sign.
It happens.
