lol @ how overrated Marcos Maidana is getting.
Devon Alexander called him out, put his title on the line and everything, said he wanted to fight the dude. Cunningham said Maidana and his people didn't want to fight him! lol
Anyways I think the most avoided fighter is still Paul Williams....I mean the guy is a natural welterweight, and he's had to climb 2 classes up to get work...a list of his duckers:
-Cintron (has been begged and begged, never wanted the fight)
-Clottey (who turned down an offer Paul made in Oct, claiming he wanted more money...he then signed to fight Michel Rosales on TR Live, and eventually scrapped that one...Pac fell in his lap)
-Cotto (lets be real now, I love Cotto but Cotto has dodged Paul, he was supposed to fight Paul instead of Margo in the first place)
-Mosley (has been begged and begged and has never wanted the fight)
-Floyd (big Floyd fan but I'm not even sure Paul has ever been on Floyd's radar even)
-even Margarito (who turned down a rematch when Paul made an offer back in 08)
no two ways about it, Paul is the most avoided man in the sport....PERIOD
I think Poon and Hasegawa are fight on the same card...
I haven't heard that, but I know Teiken plan to put Hasegawa and Nishioka on the same card in April.
The thing is, Poonsawat said he'd love to fight Hasegawa, when Hasegawa was ringside commentating. He should step up and fight him at 122 after April.
In boxing there are only people who avoid, not people who are avoided.
Mayweather ducks a lot of fighters, but there are other fighters willing to take on the fights he avoids.
And Paul Williams give me a break. Watch the Quintana fight and say that. He's not as good as people on here try to make him out to be. He's 6'2 and should be fighting at middleweight or super middleweight, not beating up on welterweights.
Right now I would have to say Paul Malignalli for the reasons mentioned above, nobody wants to fight a loud mouth cry baby bum.
He's using Manny as his claim to fame, the same way Vargas did a looong time ago to get his fight with Oscar. All the negative press Fernando created is what made him a household name, and Paulie is trying to do the same thing. I hope Manny never responds to any of his comments or gives him the time of day.
I agree paul williams at 147 but he isnt the most avoided overall it's just that he doesnt wanna fight the best at 154. When have you heard him call out yuri foreman?
Its all about the money with paul williams, he says hes the most avoided fighter but only at WW which seems to be all hes intersted in cos of the money involved in that division right now.(and the fact he is much taller and bigger than the ww's)
However he did fight sergio martinez but he took a beatin which will make him avoid that weight as much as possible.
Nobody is most avoided in boxing
Certain fighters use that lable to promote themselves. But nobody is most avoided. The reality is some fighters make more money than others and those that dont generate big money get avoided for those that generate more money. Its that simple..
