Why not? HBO has done stuff like this before.
Put Lampley-Mercant-Stewart at one site and Papa-Kellerman-Lewis at the other site.
Both of them in separate fights on the same bill would sell more than them having two separate ppv cards.
Very interesting.
arum did pavlik vs rubio & cotto vs jennings on separate locations broadcast by hbo.
HBO if it had any sense could pressure both camps to do this & make it like a tune up preview fight for pac vs may later on the year.
Hbo could pay each boxer a fee, they split the revenue 50-50, more fans would by it too & the ppv leverage of both fighters would not change.
but it will never happen.
The fighters would lose a ton of money this way. You cant compare these 2 guys having fights to garbage stuff like Cotto-Jennings & Pavlik-Rubio. Thats not even the same ball park. Those other 2 fights werent even real PPV fights. They was just Bob Arum shit. Both Floyd & Pac are on the Oscar level right now and can sell big. It would be stupid to split there money in half.
we're talking about the same idiots that couldn't get a 40mil dollar fight made. How do you expect them to agree on a 4 way split for the ppv revenue, undercards ect.
If I understand correctly, they are already scheduled to fight on the same night. HBO just hasnt decided which they are going to broadcast.
Has the mayweather camp announced who Floyd gonna fight next already?
Why broadcast two fights on the same night when the majority of people won't pay to see both fights?
HBO and boxing is a business. You know damn well they want to milk every single dollar from every fan. They can make millions from Floyd and Manny if they fight on different nights.

This fights are mainly keep busy fights. They cant expect to make 20 million dollars fighting Clottey or someone not named Mosley. I know it would be hard to make but i think if they wanted to its possible.
both parties wouldn't want to share the limelight. For one, each promotional company wants to show off their fighters on the undercards so that would be a mess to negotiate.
It would sell more for HBO but not the 2 fighters. The fighters dont want to lose money like that. Theyve done stuff on the same night before but its never been a PPV card. I just dont see it happening. Both guys know they would lose alot of money if the other guy fought near the same date, let alone on the exact same date
