Whats the Toney documentary called? I forget whats its called, it was broadcast on British television. I have it on a James Toney DVD i got with my Toney career. I have not seen it around here though or on any torrent sites.

I saw this documentary about James Toney and by all accounts his father is a piece of shit, he apparently shot Toney's mothers. In the doc Toney's mother said she saw a lot of James's father in James.

I don't mind guys that talk, but I just don't like James Toney. He's one of those guys who always complains and always vastly overrates himself. I respect him as a fighter and what he has done in his career, but that's it.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of him as a person, not that I've ever met him but I've heard quite a bit. It's the same as with fighters such as Jake LaMotta, Carlos Monzon, even Ray Robinson, I don't have to admire their character in order to enjoy watching them box. I enjoy watching James Toney box. Why what are some of bad things about Robinson the person? Im intrigued.

How can you not love this guy: He was on theboxingtruth.com radio earlier in the week which is available for download if anyone wants to check it out. Despite all the trashtalking which is mainly just about getting in people's heads, I think he's a good guy. He was answering everyone's questions on that show and even called back in when his phone got cut off during one of the questions. He threw in some gems to like calling Hopkins "Ol' snaggle tooth ass".

just curious... i dont see any reason for anyone not to like him, he never ducked anyone, hes funny as hell outside the ring and very entertaining to watch but yea.. anyone? also where would you guys rank him in a ATG list? is he in the top 50? He is an ignorant, albeit very talented.

Some of the things I've heard and read about Ray Robinson were just downright disgusting. Far beyond James Toney. Monzon was apparently a sociopath (as was LaMotta). I don't really like Monzon's style though, like I do Ray's. Monzon's was too ugly for my preference.

Done some great things but I don't consider him a top 30 contender in any weight class any more.

I respect his skills and what he has acomplished in the ring. His defensive skills are beautifull to watch. Aside from that he seems like an ignorant loudmouth retard.

Prime Toney was one of my favourite fighters when he was on form. His fight game was wicked. Complacency stopped him from being a true great. He talks too much shit as well, sometimes funny, other times plain retarded. WORD son :boxing:

He is one of my favorites...I love how he fights....he was always entertaining. he had awesome shoulder rolling defense, and could knock people out. Toney vs jirov round 12 was the most exciting round i have ever seen in my life. he does have skills and has been around for a long time and he is always ready for a challenge but he shouldnt get a pass for cheating he has been caught so this is not speculation

I used to be a big fan but not really anymore, after his repeated positive drug tests and how fat he'd show up for important fights. I find a lot of his fights beautiful to watch however. indeed...finesse is how i describe it
