He just seems to fight an endless line of tuneups. I think we have to go back at least a whopping SEVEN years to find a fight that wasn't labeled as a tune-up.:eek:
Forget Oscar. That was a moneyfight.
Wwwwawawait! Are you saying that JMM wasn't a tune-up???????????????
In that case you are a Floydstan first class mate.
It was definitely a tune-up fight for Mayweather who was coming off a 21 month layoff, but you can't deny the fact that he BLASTED JMM (who happens to the be same guy who fought Pacquiao evenly for 24 rounds) in one of the most lopsided fights in recent history.
The guy he beat twice???
Or Did his split from Arum contribute..giving that the best 147's are Top Rank Fighters.
Truth be told its Oscar.
Since the Oscar fight Floyd only fights for CASH.
I'm a Mayweather fan, but do you honestly think Mayweather beat Castillo the first fight? I don't see how any objective boxing fan can give that first fight to Mayweather.
With that being said, I do think he would would have won the fight had he not broken his hand, but I think Castillo won the 1st fight 7-4-1 (3rd round 10-10). You could also argue he won 7-5. I had Mayweather winning the second fight though.
I disagree that Judah and Hatton were tune-ups. They were 100% live opponents, especially Hatton who was undefeated.
Hatton might have been live if the fight was at 140. At 147 Floyd was taking candy from a fat baby.
I'm not saying Gatti was favored by everyone. But then I didn't check the "vegas odds" at the time. I'm just going by general sentiment at the time.
Mayweather was a 6-1 favorite. I bet the bank on him at the time.
He was a 135 pound fighter, of course he was a tune-up.
Even his dad says it was a tune up from the start. Of course Floyd Jr. is going to sell the fight like a good business man and call it something more than that, but we all know it was a tune up.
Well I thought only HORUS believed it was not a tune-up (see sig), but apparently Allucard thinks so as well. Even with the benefit of hindsight. :nonono::nonono:
countdown shows are made to make mismatches appear like competitive fights. you're not supposed to believe that crap. if they said the truth that mayweather is gonna beat gatti to hell who is gonna watch?
i'll trust vegas a lot more than them cause when money's on the line no one is picking gatti or marquez like an idiot.
I wanna bet pisspac if he blieves the pre-fight hype instead of the oddsmakers.
Sorry man, the p4p #2 in the world (Floyd didn't call him that, WE and the media DID) is no tune up. Just because made it look easy it doesn't mean he doesn't deserve credit. This is the same guy who gave Manny all he could handle and won at least half of every round they fought.
Of course everyone who fights Mayweather has the weight/age/condition/fear of needles excuse like Hatton's best weight being 140 and 7 extra pound making "all the difference". Right! You believe what you want to believe but in the fight night what the eyes see don't lie. Mayweather didn't beat Marquez with the extra pound, he beat him with superior skill.
Anyway my advise for you would be forget about Floyd, concentrate on the new breath of exciting undefeated hungry fighters: Bradley, Juanma, Ortiz, Dawson, Ward, even Berto... Those are the future of boxing. Floyd's best fight are already done and people should just let him go, he's cashing out like everyone else. Easy fights for the most money. Pacquiao's doing it, Calzaghe done it, it's BOXING for you.

practice makes perfect and hes a perfectionist, doesnt want to have an off night.
:D
All you have to do is watch the countdown show and see all the boxing pundits and experts pick Gatti. The usual suspect clownshoes like Ron Borges and Dan Rafeal. And guys from the Ring.

OKay well just thumb through your copy of the Ring from that era. Should be simple enough for a boxing know it all like you.
You are very naive if you cannot see through a pre-fight hype show........
does pacquiao only fight tune ups??? hatton DLH diaz??? what is cotto and JMM his only recent fights??lol...**** outta here
Using your logic: Pac has fought 2 legit fights in 2 years...Mayweather...3 in 5
That was weak. Even for you. A countdown show is made to hype a fight. Of course they wont bring unanimous opinions in support for one of the fighters. Heck some even (was paid to) said JMM had a chance........

Because he HAD to, retard. The boxing public demanded it, since many people thought he lost and people were screaming robbery.
Compare floyds resume at 130 up to Castillo to that after. It speaks for itself as far as challenges go. Floyd seemingly took the easiest paths possible ever since.
Normally when my "mentality" is changed, I don't know I'd run from a rematch.
Your argument is at best trash. Maybe you should have started the hand picking argument at 147 where is where most people with a brain tend to start it.
And yes Oscar was an easy path. Good call.
gatti was a 4 to 1 underdog pretty even odds i would say.

C'mon, folks. Floyd is just going after guys on his hit list. Prime ATGs like Nate, Paulie the Guido, Saul Alvarez, Matthew Hatton. That why he came back, right? Dominate the sport, man. That's his thing.
