Floyd knocked out an undefeated Ricky Hatton at 147 but I have been seeing a lot of people discrediting this win by saying Manny's win was more impressive because that was at Ricky's more natural weight at 140. Let's not forget the shenanigans that Ricky pulled against Lazcano after his loss to "Money May!" Let me refresh your memories. Check from the 5:10 mark.

Hatton was a different fighter after he got knocked out by Floyd period and Manny finished him. But let's stop this nonsense about the dominant 140 pounder Ricky was at the time of the Pacman fight.
So because he's british he has to lick all british fighters??? And if he doesnt lick them he isnt british enough for you??? Idiots like you makes it harder to be a boxing fan.
what an idiot that weebler guy is.i dont often get pissed off on here but what he said is so stupid
funny thing is that he is serious!
The reason I asked is because I've read your posts for some time and have only ever seen you take shots at British fighters. I don't believe you're British and if you are, well then I think you may have some self-hate issues to address.
.
im a real boxing fan that happens too be british, just because i dont nuthug british fighters (much) doesnt mean im not from britain you ****ing idiot,i think you need to read your post back and realize how ****ing stupid you sound
Why is Hattons next fight at 147 then? Fail.
While I agree with u, another reason he will fight @ 147 is cuz he goes up in weight too much between fights so I dont think he can make a healthy 140
Like I said on that thread, he's a fool if he comes back at that weight against a genuine WW. He doesn't belong there.
Well if he cant make 140 (tim bradley) where does he go? stay retired?
Someone who blows up as high as 200+ is gonna be more effective at 147.
idk man he was on WWE he looked 170 easy.
If he really can't get down to 140 or at least 143/44 then he should retire, he has no business at 147 and it's not cool to make JMM fight at that weight.
I agree, although im a PBF fan to make JMM fight @ 147 after seeing him at that weight aginst Floyd is almost admitting he cant really hang in there @ 147
:boxing:
Hatton has beaten supposedly more skilful fighters at 140 before. At 147 Floyd was able to handle Ricky's strength and took Hatton's punches far better than any 140lb fighter woruld even in the rounds he was outworked.
yeah I had him in the top 10 pfp, the money thing is annoying because I know he'd fight at 147 again for money even though he wouldn't be effective there against an elite fighter.
Didn't duck out, went offline, real life and shit :)
I'm not saying Mayweather's win was total crap (I did say it was b/s but it's really the hype about it that was b/s), he beat a good fighter who was fighting above his natural weight but Pacquiao's win was better because he fought him at his most effective fighting weight.
How are you going to have a fighter in the p4p top 10 but then complain because he lost to the best fighter in the world only 1 division above? The fight happened, man up and accept it. Its been 2 years.
You can have the opinion that Pacs fought a better version based on the fact that it was at 140. But You, I, and everyone knows Hatton had no confidence, had been terribly out of shape lately, and had Mayweather Sr. training him for that fight- That was not a better version.
Hatton is a good name on Mayweathers resume. It may not have been the cleanest/best win but it's still something you could list under his accomplishments. But Manny's victory is more impressive.
Well we're talking from the point of view of a fan, not a manager or the fighter himself. So theoretically we want all the advantages to go to "our" fighter. And fighting at 140 is where Ricky belongs.
And Oscar was total shit at 160 lol. Compared to his 147 self. He was slower, less powerful and probably not as motivated.
It's funny how a couple losses spurned Hopkins to go out and take some big risks, having the best run of his career. Maybe that's what Mayweather needs?
I think Mayweather taking Hattons 0 by punishing him and then knocking him out is more impressive than Pacs win.
Pacs win was very impressive and shocking as well but Hatton was already damaged goods. He was clearly not a good fit with Mayweather Sr. He had been going on Benders and had no confidence anymore. Not to take anything away from Pacs win though. I just think he fought a lesser Hatton, regardless of the weight.
Oscar was good enough at 160 to compete. Thats what p4p fighters do.
You missunderstand, Hatton get called a bum because he is british not because of any ring performance.
Cotto just got his ass whuped and stopped at a weight division higher than Hatton and I don't see anyone saying he's a bum.
Same with Calzaghe, Hamed, Eubank, Benn and others, If any of those fighters where born in mexico they wouldn't catch 1% of teh shit that get thrown at them.
The difference was Cotto beat alot of really good fighters and didnt get starched.
He also had a crowd pleasing style, not a hugfest. I never siad Hatton was a bum but his fights we pretty tedious to sit through.
The reason I asked is because I've read your posts for some time and have only ever seen you take shots at British fighters. I don't believe you're British and if you are, well then I think you may have some self-hate issues to address.
He went on a three month bender before Lazcano and wasn't at his best. There were some fights where he wasn't at his best pre-Mayweather but I don't see you saying he was done before Floyd. Malignaggi was the no.1 contender at JWW, if Hatton didn't win that he was going to retire but he massacred him and looked good doing it. That may be difficult for you to accept, but that's what it is.
I'm out for the night (as it's late here) but will reply tomorrow at some point.

i dont need too answer your question,is have nothing to do with what we are talking about

on the basis that he looked terrible against light-punching lazcano and was hurt a couple of times.he beat up malignaggi because the guy cant punch, the fight was just a smokescreen to set up another mega-fight for hatton

you can keep sticking up for hatton all you want, but he clearly wasnt the same post-mayweather as he was pre-mayweather
On what basis? and you didn't answer my question.
yet he cracked Malignaggi, the no.1 JWW contender in R.2 after Mayweather rendering him useless for the rest of the fight.
Where in britain are you from?
you can keep sticking up for hatton all you want, but he clearly wasnt the same post-mayweather as he was pre-mayweather
hatton was at his best around the time of the tsyzu fight
he wasnt the same after the mayweather fight,in fact he was finished

He won't let it go, he's been banging on about that fight for ages now lol. Hatton was at a disadvantage at 147, yes, but no-one honestly believes he had the skills to beat Mayweather at 140 anyway.
Hatton has beaten supposedly more skilful fighters at 140 before. At 147 Floyd was able to handle Ricky's strength and took Hatton's punches far better than any 140lb fighter woruld even in the rounds he was outworked.
Maybe he was better at 140 but that doesnt mean he isnt effective or "has no business" at 147 because im pretty sure he made upwards of 20million for the Mayweather fight, which most would consider big business.
He won a championship at the weight.
Just answer the question.
yeah I had him in the top 10 pfp, the money thing is annoying because I know he'd fight at 147 again for money even though he wouldn't be effective there against an elite fighter.
Weebler, you are losing all of my respect by ducking my questions and out of the thread.
Its ok though, we know you are blinded by objectivity by your love of Hatton. But you are still wrong.
Didn't duck out, went offline, real life and shit :)
Maybe he wasnt as effective at 147 as 140 but he still beat Collazo who is a solid fighter and had a belt, and was semi competative with Mayweather.

he went back to 140 and was straight back to business. Wooping Malignaggi, who was, and still is..one of the better 140 lbders.
Maybe he wasnt as effective at 147 as 140 but he still beat Collazo who is a solid fighter and had a belt, and was semi competative with Mayweather. Oscar looked like shit against Sturm but that didnt stop him from fighting Hopkins, who coincedently, became p4p #1 after that. And while no one claims Oscar was Hopkins best win he still gets credit for it. Doesnt mean Oscar didnt belong there, he was still competitive. No one said Oscar was shit or a bum at 160, although everyone knows that was not his ideal weight.
Regardless of the context, Mr. Funnyman, How would he be better fighting somewhere else when he can make 20+ million fighting at WW and become p4p #1 with a win over Mayweather?
