Dr. Don H. Catlin, the head of the Los Angeles-based non-profit Anti-Doping Research, Inc., said a 24-day cutoff for blood testing is not sufficient to prevent abuse. One of the concerns with such a long blood-testing cutoff prior to the date of competition would be the potential use of Erythropoietin, or EPO.
But Catlin said that wouldn’t be the only concern if there were a 24-day cutoff imposed.
“If you have a 24-day window that’s free, with no testing, you can take whatever you want and you’re not going to get caught, end of story,” Catlin said. “ does matter, yes, but they’re not going to catch everything by urine testing alone. What you would do is to take Mircera , which is available and which is not easy to detect in urine and away you go. You need a blood test.”
This guy said nothing about the blood test after fight like it was non-existent. If the regular blood test after the fight is "flawed", why dont they do the olympic's "thorough" version for the test after the fight?
This respects the wishes of both parties.
^True...and why would Pac want to dirty his name after the fight? It only means that Pac agreed to blood test right after the fight to prove he is clean and to erase the cloud of steroids before the fight.
after the fight, the fighter has already benifitted from the drug, so what would be the point. Floyd wants a clean fight, plain and simple.
what would be the point of fighting if you know youre gonna test positive right after? thats like negative common sense.
and lol@larrysbird...thats a funny name
I find it funny that so many people dispute drug testing experts. Pac, Arum and Roach don't know shit about drug testing, and neither do any of us, really. But there have been quite a few quotes on this forum, from drug testing experts that have said all of the testing needs to be random without a cutoff period, and must include blood.
And for everyone that says EPO can be detected in urine, that's true for some EPO. The most reliable test for that drug in particular is a blood test, as of December 2009.
There's no two ways about it; If boxing wants to ensure its fighters are clean, for their own health and safety, then they need to random urine and blood testing without notification.
Yeah, f*cking random test! Like they do blood test on Pac every after ODD rounds and a urine test after every EVEN rounds! Yeah, that's gonna cool p*ssy Mayweather down!
Pac became too good for his own good. He's so good that people accuse him of taking drugs when in fact he never failed a single drug test.
50 years from now true boxing fans will say, "Damn! Pac was that great during his time that they thought he was on steroids!" Damn man! You seem very ANGRY (rage!)..... I was very shocked to see that you are 36? And went way over the top, it's a simple random test dude.
Yes Manny is good, almost too good. That's why he must prove it now, floyd will also test so isn't that fair?
Manny will be known as a great fighter like Bonds was a great player. But Manny has the chance to remove his *s. But till he steps up and tests, it's *HOF* for sure.
Since the fight isn't gonna happen for the time, it would be best for Team Mayweather to apply petition to NSAC to conduct blood testing if they really want to clean up the sport. So there won't be any arguments at all related to this issue before any match to happen. :cop:

"
just because you never failed a breathalyzer doesnt mean you've never drove drunk.

Exactly. Its like checking the gun for bullets AFTER you put it to your head and pulled the trigger.......

What can you do after the fight if Pac were to kill a guy from being on that shyt?
That's why random, no gaps or windows to use is needed. It's like people don't care. They want floyd to lose soooo bad they'd send a possable cheat in there. You know it should be done but you don't care

Either way it doesn't really matter, the only question that really matters is are you using or are you not. There shouldn't be any windows for opportunity of use. Full random drug testing should be enforced all around boxing.
It does matter to Pac performance though basing from the Morales fight thats why he objects blood getting drawn near fight time.
Another question would be, will that 24-day window would make you super human or unbeatable barely two weeks left of intense training prior to fight night with EPO?

Please note: they can also be detected in urine...Then Mayweather can have unlimited piss from Pac if he wish.(not directly though) It's not Pac's way.
Besides,People make it sound that the Olympic testing is a great deterent to drug use,yet every Olympic year there are athlete that are getting caught. What can it do to boxing?.Surely it will not be to make boxing more credible as it is.
