Too soon? This fight has gotten more plublicity than any fight ever. They can fight tomorrow and break all records. Us fans are on standby waiting for the contracts to be signed. If so just say we will fight in may and both fighters will do warm up fights. Theres no need to fake negotiations just to put it off until the fall. The fight can not happen in May because Pac is running for office. And, yes the March date was too soon. I think when the negotiations started both sides had intentions to get the fight done and get it made in March. But, when neither side was budging. It came clear IMO this fight will not happen in March. And, then Mayweather finally decided to budge. I think Roach/Top Rank felt it was not enough time to get prepared of Floyd. Remember Roach wanted more than 8 weeks. He wanted close to 10 or 12 weeks to prepare. So when the 14 day cut off deal was offered. They could of felt it was too soon...

If this is true, then I'm disappointed nobody got a hold of Pacquiao.

Reading the LA Times blog, it seems like Arum never went to Pacquiao with the deal for 14 days... GBP would have send this "compromise" in the mediation table in the first place since they're Floyd's rep and not the media but I think there's a miscommunication going on or just another bluff?(hope not).

I disagree because Arum took himself out. So a deal could get done. If Pac never wanted the fight in the first place he would never agree to 50-50 split. He would of demanded 60-40 and that is it. Anyways the fight probably will happen in September. They probably realized March was too soon. So just stop jumping to conclusions. And, see how everything plays out... At first I thought that too with the September date... but after looking at this situation it simply can't happen in September or somebody is gonna look like a real bitch j If they couldn't agree now... how should they in September... and if they do somebody will have to change his standpoint... and if this happens questions will be asked why they couldn't do it in March etc. If this fight is not happening now I have to think that it will NEVER be made

Bob will rush to get Clottey to sign that contract. Once Manny signs then no more Mayweather talk. Would have got what he always wanted. No fight.

Sounds like the fight is off until later this year. I think negotiations were rushed and thats why Arum played the bad guy demanding 30 days (roach and pac are both on record saying they'll do a few days) to delay things. Time to move on, isn't an issue of anybody ducking, its just a rushed negtiation and a rushed fight. Expect Pac to fight a top 5 jrWW/WW and PBF to go after Hatton or Paulie then they'll meet before the end of the year. Give these guys credit, 8 weeks is not enough for either fighter to put up a game plan and make changes for either fighter, nor is 2 1/2 months enough time to promote this fight to the magnatude they want it to be.
