Manny Pacquaio: A closer look at his resume

People talk about how Pacquaio takes on all-comes and has an amazing CV, but in reality there is plenty of chicken feed in Pacquaio's last 12 fights: Cotto (very good win) Hatton (good win, but Mayweathers was when he was unbeaten, Hatton nearly done at this point) De la Hoya (18 months after Mayweather, at 147, a weight DLH hadn't met for 7 years) Diaz (punchbag, took this fight instead of third fight with JMM which surely would have made more money) Marquez (good performance, BUT a highly contentious win after he was badly hurt late on and outboxed at times) Barrera (good win against a faded legend) Solis (decent win against an average fighter) Morales III (finished at this point) Larios (Coming off a KO loss against Vaszuez. First, (only?) fight at 130)) Morales II (decent win, albeit Morales coming off a loss against Raheem) Velasquez (had 10 losses on his record at this point) Morales (lost) People have consistently shredded Mayweather's record, but a closer look at Pacquaio's record shows that it isn't as good a its hyped to be. Lots of average and faded fighters in that resume. That doesnt take into account his 2 KO losses either. Next up, Yuri Foreman... Barrera wasn't faded, it was just another dominate win by Pacquiao against a left hand dominant fighter. Also, Mayweather fought Hatton at 147.

Juan Manuel Marquez - Top P4P fighter. Aweful style match up for Pac, yet he still won 2 decisions. Personally I think it should be 1-1, but still. He did what he had to do, and got the win. Oscar De La Hoya - Was he drained? Maybe, but ain't hindsight a bitch. Pac was a huge underdog and beat him like he was his bitch. Oscar wasn't at his best, but a great performance over a slightly faded, but much bigger legend. Ricky Hatton - Only one loss on his record, unbeaten at 140, maybe he wasn't at his 'prime' as such. But he ICED him in 2. David Diaz - Not a great opponent, weakest holder around. But still, it's not like anyone cites it as a great win, just the great performance it was. Miguel Cotto - Wins over Judah, Mosley and Clottey in his previous fight extablished him as a top WW, he admitted that the 145 pound limit did not affect him at all. Marco A. Barrera - Total annihilation, and I wouldn't say Barrera was past it in their first fight, tbh. He might have not been the best he'd ever been, but he was still in top form, beating Hamed, Kelly and Morales in his 8 fight win streak prior to the Pac fight. Erik Morales - The first fight was a war, Pac lost, but it was close, not the wipeout some people claim. He lost to Raheem, maybe a bad style match up, maybe Pac took something outta him or whatever, but Pac came back to take him out twice. The 3rd fight isn't worth much, and isn't praised much either. So, yeah. He might not have the best Resume in history, but it is still very, very good.

That's right, Pac fought Oscar at a weight the Golden Boy hasn't fought in years at 147. Mayweather meanwhile got a P4P fighter with great boxing skills in the name of Juan Manuel Marquez at a catchweighty of 144 pound. But Mayweather manned up by not making the catchweight cuz the fight is at 147.

Cotto's was a pretty second-rate win. Ever since Margarito busted him up, he has been fighting poorly - you never recover from something like that.

Pacquiao does have Miguel Cotto on his resume though, a far better welterweight than any welter that Floyd has fought since he moved up in weight.

Yeah he has Oscar Larios and Hector Velasquez instead, and faded legends like Morales and De la Hoya.
