Devon Alexander Is Younger, And Better, Than Amir Khan

With Khan getting ready to pull one of the most blatant ducks of the past 10 years I think people should start acknowledging that he is more Audley Harrison than Lennox Lewis. The guy has been managed well and that's the best I can say about him. His team has put him in time and time again with weak tailor made opponents and even then he was KTFO in 30 seconds. Devon Alexander has shown already that not only is he on Khan's level skill wise, but he also has a chin that will hold up and he has a desire to fight the best. Devon Alexander is only 22 years old, despite having just won his 1st world title did he decide to take an easy defense against an underserving challenger like Khan did? Nope, he decided to unify his title against the hard hitting Juan Urango right off the bat. Now that is a serious fighter who intends to prove his skill in the ring. Khan is older than Alexander, has already had an easy defense and is faced, like Alexander, with the choice to fight a hard hitting and deserving challenger. What does Khan want to do? Run like a bitch.... Alexander is the real fighter at 140. Amir Khan is a punch line to a bad joke.

Alexander is the more polished boxer right now, but Khan will catch up soon. Once Khan defeats Malignaggi and then Victor Ortiz, he'll be ready for either Alexander or Bradley. Khan isn't going to catch up, especially not style wise or excitement wise. Khan is obviously going to be a safety first fighter for the rest of his career using his hand speed and running ability to potshot his way to victories over smaller slower men. Alexander on the other hand will continue to mature with an exciting style and will continue to end his fights by taking out his opponents in emphatic fashion.

Alexander was very impressive against Urango, so much so that I wouldn't know who to pick in a fight against Khan and I have a lot of faith in the ability of Khan. It's certainly a fight I want to see.

Alexander was ready to make a splash when he beat Corely. It's really 2 years late what just happened. I think Khan is still decent though I dont expect him ever outboxing and knocking out a tough slugger like Urango. He'll likely destroy Malignaggi and put himself at the top along with Alexander and Bradley.

It's sad that Alexander has a resume that shi*s on Khans and is a year younger with nowhere near the amateur pedigree and still it's Khan who gets guaranteed a million dollars to take fights that nobody wants to see. It's another example of boxing fans having nobody to blame but themselves for getting crappy fights. Nobody in their right mind should support Khan and his career choices, he is a joke. I am sure Alexander would love to get his hands on Khan's WBA belt and have 3 of the 4. Considering Khan has Maidana under contract not to fight and is living in fear of Tim Bradley he should sack up and fight the guy is younger and more inexperienced than him. Alexander had a great background in the amatuers. He lost to Rock Allen in the trials for the 04 olympic class and my godfather saw that fight and said that Devon was robbed.

He's a very skilled fighter, I saw him in his 2nd pro fight , he was on a undercard and I knew he would be a great force at 140 in the years to come. I'm happy he's going to get the recognition he deserves.

At the end of the day Alexander has just beatin Urango. Thats the only big name fighter his beat, His got chop chop corley on there but he aint the same fighter then. He won the WBC belt which Bradley vacated. Ok he beat Urango but id say Paulie is a much much better fighter then Urango. So will Amir Khan get biged up on this forum after he beats Paulie as much as Alexander has? I doubt it.... Am not saying Khan is the better fighter but Alexander is a good boxer no doubt but i dont think it will be a walk in the park for him when he fights can or if he does. Both have alot to prove yet

I definitely see what you're saying hitman, I personally have all only seen khan a couple times, and alexander once, so i don't really know. From what i know , i would agree with you though. and alexander hasn't been KTFO, i think he has a better resume so far as well.

What'll happen here, is Khan will keep dancing around the best fighters while either Alexander or Bradley finish each other of, unifying their belts, then i just can't see Khan fighting either of those, so he'll vacate and move up, exactl like he did at 135. Alexnder takes Khans head off in 4. Yeah I think 4 rounds is the longest Khan could expect to last against either Bradley or Alexander. Imagine if it had been Khan in there against Urango last night, he'd have been running and holding all night long trying to potshot a victory. Alexander stood in the pocket and met Urango head on, impressive performance by the guy who just turned 23.
