Olympic Tests Have Never Detected HGH in an Athlete: USADA Backs Urine by Kevin Riley
Contributor Written on January 06, 2010 The biggest fight in the history of boxing is in danger of not happening because Floyd Mayweather Jr. wants his opponent Manny Pacquiao to agree to random Olympic-style blood tests.
The only problem is that these random blood tests have never—yes that's right—never found Human Growth Hormone in any Olympic athlete that has ever been tested.
Interesting, huh?
Mayweather somehow believes that if his opponent Pacquiao who has never failed a drug test, refuses to take a test that has never caught anyone, then this fight can't happen.
How does this make sense? It doesn't. No wait, maybe Mayweather knows something the rest of us don't...no wait, maybe Mayweather is just trying to avoid the best fighter he has ever met.
But hold on, it gets even better.
Mayweather's camp has somehow wrangled the alliance of Travis Tygart, CEO of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, to try and spin this whole charade of events in their favor.
Tygart has told Yahoo Sports! that Pacquiao's resistance to submit to the blood tests "would provide a huge loophole for a cheater to step through and get away with cheating.”
Please explain yourself Mr. Tygart, how can a test that's never caught anybody possibly provide a "loophole" for a cheater to step through?
It seems like the test itself is a loophole.
And if you don't think this sequence of events can get even more interesting, it can.
Listen to this.
USADA announced last year that they were funding a company that has developed a test to detect HGH in urine. And Pacquiao, as everyone knows, has agreed to submit to as many random urine tests as the Mayweather camp would like.
Tygart even told USA Today last year that the developers, Ceres Nanosciences, "have developed an outstanding technology. And we're looking forward to helping them develop it further so it can have a practical use in anti-doping efforts."
Yesterday, Ceres Nanosciences launched the first release of that new technology, NanotrapTM ESP Particles.
These particles are designed to improve complex biofluid sample processing allowing for the detection of low-abundance proteins that would not otherwise be detected and also uses existing medical equipment.
What this means, simply, is that HGH use is now detectable through testing of urine samples and the breakthrough technology is officially ready to "Rock-and-Roll."
Now we'll find out if Mayweather is ready to do the same.
Pacquiao certainly is.*
it's always been excuses to duck the best fighters...
after hatton merchant mentioned cotto and margarito and he chickened out and retired...when he went to sports center he sat next to brian kenny, and brian asked him about fights with cotto...floyd said cotto doesn't have a big fan base ( Cotto's fan base contributed to the Cotto/Pacquiao 1.25 million dollars in PPV numbers, how the fuck is he going to say he doesn't have a fan base?)..
now he comes back, beats a small men in marquez...his father creates this drama of manny being on steroids to invent an excuse for floyd not to fight him...
congratulations floyd mayweather: you're the definition of a COWARD
co-sign. I use to be a fan of Floyd back in 99-01, but listening to him and following him as a fighter, It's just impossible to be a fan of his.
Floyd's excuses not to fight Stevie Johnston and others done it for me, even back then.
BTW I know a Floyd fan will rush in and say thats a lie. FWIW even Roger came out as said "Were not gonna put Floyd against any southpaws because he is not ready for them". Now if that isn't a duck....then I don't know what is.
Floyd Sr is an instigating bitch...if he thought Pac was on steroids why didn't he start this after he beat DLH in 2008? Why start after the Cotto fight?
he knows Pac can definitely hurt his bitch ass son, that's why he created this drama.
Fuck the Mayweathers....
i have always said this in the past. There are no conclusive evidence yet that blood test alone is enough for detecting HGH. In fact if you keep digging and not just listening to what boxing fans are saying, there are more experts leaning towards the veracity of urine testing. Having said that, it is still being debated by experts (not by boxing fans, for goodness sake)
and yet the flomos after having passed their medical degree from University of Google overnight, suddenly became experts on blood testing! It's laughable to say the least
and they are still ducking this thread
I have always tried to control my loathing against the Mayweathers, but the more I read articles about the whole blood testing farce, I feel like giving floyd a good kicking (when he's asleep of course!)
Honestly...look at Sr's reason for thinking Manny is on something. The fact that he can take Cotto's punches? Not PED in the world will stop you from losing your equilibrium when your head snaps back from a hard punch. Either you have the punch resistance or you don't. Manny's head when flying back with those cotto left jabs and even hurt Manny. The kid can just take a punch....point blank.

if I were NSAC, I would ban Floyd from fighting in Nevada ever again! Floyd not only discredited the Commission but the sport of boxing in general
Now, all of the greats, past and present are being questioned if they were somehow be on PEDs. i read some boxing fan's blog that he suspects now that Roberto Duran could have been juicing as well!
Honestly, Both Sr and Jr know about as much as the average poster on here when it comes to EPO and HGH. It was a bullsh!t move from the jump to both get into Manny's head and also throw dirt on his name. I'm glad Manny didn't cave into it, and I hope he gets his strap at 154 and then goes on to face Mosley this Fall.
Yet flomos continue to ignore the fact that urine tests are the future when it comes to HGH detection, not blood.
Why the obsession with blood if that is the case?
Because it is the spin that GBP and mayweathers fed them! They do not bother about reading the other side of the studies on this, but only looking for the 'blood' test aspect despite the fact that nanotech has been focusing on urine test in the last few years!
if a blood test has never caught anyone using HGH, then why do team mayweather persist in their fruitless quest for blood tests?
because they knew Pac would not agree to the testing
