Comparing Marquez-Pac at 130lbs, to Floyd-Marquez at 140lbs+ isnt comparable.
And tone down the "raging tiger" comparisons...
Pacquiao at 130 is still alot better than Bradley at 14o, faster, and a much bigger puncher.
then i cant possibly see why you think marquez went the distance because floyd was holding back.
none of marquez's attributes helped him go the distance in your opinion?
marquez's chin and recovery didnt help him? mayweather got lightweight champ jmm with the same left hook he knocked former welterweight champ hatton into the ring post with. difference is marquez got one with mayweather turning his body into it while coming in, hatton got a check hook while mayweather was backing up to the side.
what about marquez's skill to adapt in the ring? he got knocked down in the 2nd, the sequence gets recorded into his brain, does not let it happen again.
what about marquez's sheer punching skill and accuracy? mayweather jumped in after the knock down, what does marquez do after a knock down of after he gets stunned? his recovery skill kicks in and fights right back. mayweather sees this then jumps back to caution mode.
i can go on
The same punch he hit hatton with? Really? The same exact left hook? With the same speed? The same power? On the exact same spot as he hit Hatton with? And you know this for a fact because....... you saw a left hook land?
Interesting.
Floyd was comfortable going the distance, Floyd didn't want to go for the kill.. so he didn't. If the stoppage came, then it came.. if it didnt... then it didnt.
As someone else said... in the last round Lampley yelled out 15 seconds left, Floy dlooked over, and proceeded to run around for the last 15 seconds.. indicating specifically, he was not looking for a stoppage.
If a light puncher in Juan Diaz at 135lbs can buckle Marquezs legs, a 147lb Floyd, with already a knockdown against Marquez, while barely throwing any punches to begin with.. definitely had the abilities to stop Marquez, if he so chose to do so.
The way you have acted towards me.. I really have no interest in conversating with you any longer..
I could go on and on myself, but I'm done with you.
I dont know where all the Marquez hate and doubt came from. The fight with Floyd was not a good way to see how he still is as a fighter. He was waaaaay too heavy and was in there with someone who had longer reach, faster hands and slick defense. Put marquez back in the proper division hes supposed to be in and he will look much better again. Marquez is one of the best and people seemed to have forgot that.
No Im not, but I appreciate the opinionthen i cant possibly see why you think marquez went the distance because floyd was holding back.

Bradley would win a SD. Bradley would set back and box Marquez at a slow to medium pace and get countered until he adjust. Marquez would be a problem for Bradley.
140 still might be the wrong weight for JMM. i think hatton, malignaggi, ortiz or khan would be good for JMM, but i still think those would all be tough fights. the thing is that JMM is at the end of his career and Bradley is just beginning, and JMM had tough fights at 135 so i think he's more competitive at lightweight. Valero vs JMM would be great since we'd have a big puncher in Valero who isnt as technically sound as Marquez. so Marquez with a gamplan can be very interesting in that match up.
lol at that wigger reed comparing marquez to gatti, what a joke.
WHEN and WHERE, did I compare Marquez to Gatti?
Do you lack reading comprehension?
IMO, He didnt knock Marquez out, because he doesnt seem to have that mentality of letting combinations go and teeing off like when he DID face Gatti.
I said Floyd didnt have the SAME MENTALITY in the Marquez fight that he did in the Gatti fight.
Not that they are the same fighter.
Calling me a wigger is laughable.. You don't know me, you never met me. Name calling over the internet is immature and ridiculous.
are you from the same cloth of the people that were saying mayweather was going to "gatti" marquez?
Matter of fact I had a 3 million points bet that Marquez would go the distance.
you are getting this flawed image in your head of marquez just standing there like gatti while mayweather bombs away until marquez is laying on the ropes with his arms to his face until the referee jumps in.
No Im not, but I appreciate the opinion.
Well it's an opinion.. just like yours is an opinion, and there is no reason to get argumentative about opinions.
Whether Floyd could, or could not have knocked out Marquez has no factual basis whatsoever.. so aiming your distress towards me, isn't going to help you.
IMO, He didnt knock Marquez out, because he doesnt seem to have that mentality of letting combinations go and teeing off like when he DID face Gatti.
I am a Marquez fan, I love Juan as well as Rafael.. matter of fact I like them both more than I like Floyd.
So there is no Floyd bias coming from my opinion of this.
Mentality wise, he didnt knock Marquez out... but ABILITY wise... PHYSICAL ABILITY... I believe that he could have.
Which again.. is why I highlighted: WANTED.are you from the same cloth of the people that were saying mayweather was going to "gatti" marquez? it was more like "baldomired"
:lol1: **** outta here with this shit.you are getting this flawed image in your head of marquez just standing there like gatti while mayweather bombs away until marquez is laying on the ropes with his arms to his face until the referee jumps in.
i never say things like this but.....this right here makes me 110% that my knowledge on this subject is levels above yours.
:lol1: **** outta here with this shit.
just that i get argumentative when i hear people say this shit, thats what it is, complete shit and they dont give marquez enought credit for going the distance because of himself and not to mention that floyds welterweight power is NOT a mosleys or cottos welterweight power.
mayweather did not knock marquez out because he could'nt.
shit, poor little guy is already out of his element at 135, then jumps up to 147 to get shut out, finishes the fight on his healthy 2 legs, but even then he cant keep some credit for that last part.

First of all you can back off the attitude, because I didn't come at you like that.
Second of all, it was just plainly obvious to me if Floyd chose to let his hands go in combinations, IMO.. it would be too much for Marquez.
We didn't forget Floyd knocked Marquez down did we? Whenever Floyd let his hands go, he landed, and he landed clean. If he were to steup up his output considerably, then it would of happened.
I knew Floyd WOULDN'T let his hands go.. because he just doesn't anymore.
That's why I highlighted the word: WANTEDjust that i get argumentative when i hear people say this shit, thats what it is, complete shit and they dont give marquez enought credit for going the distance because of himself and not to mention that floyds welterweight power is NOT a mosleys or cottos welterweight power.

u people really make interesting statements
-diaz supposedly knocked marquez around-could somewhat understand that
-floyd couldve finished marquez any time he wanted - didnt see that
the general consensus at the time was the only way marquez had a chance against floyd would be if he used his experience and ring intelligence
marquez coincidently has unusual ring intelligence just like hopkins has, older fighters like himself manage to retain their championship status by fighting smart sometimes cautious like he did with diaz until he decided to trade
timothy bradley to me still looks like hes been rushed to his current status
now heres my if: if holt actually engaged in that fight he wouldve smacked bradley around and might even have stopped him
marquez could win a decision, because there is uncertainty about his power @ 140
this to me is a pick em fight
What do you mean........ you people?

I definitely saw the likes of Floyd holding back, he could have engaged way more than he did. And if he chose to, which he didnt nor wouldnt.. then I believe Marquez would have been in serious trouble.
IMHO, I think Floyd held back on purpose to make it look more competitive than it was...
