I've noticed in all this that Pac fans aren't too happy with USADA, but seem to be completely ok with NSAC. In just about every comment and thread on the subject, they put USADA down like NSAC works better.
I don't think Manny is on "Steroids" because yes, the test boxing gives now would pick it up most the time.
Urine samples used now would pick steroids up most the time. I say most the time because these test are scheduled and a person, IF they are cheating has time to cycle the drug out or mask it (agree?). But USADA takes blood and urine (just here me on this). I've done a lil reading on it and I've read that urine samples can't detect HGH or EPO but blood can. But, both HGH and EPO only stay with u for a short time (hence, random vs scheduled testing). So I've asked myself "why would a fan NOT be up for USADA doing the test but would prefer a lesser testing method".
Trust me, I've heard all the PR reasons (Pride, Honor, Not bowing, being weak) trust me I've heard all you've heard. But they all seem to steer clear of just answering the question "Why would you choose a lesser method?"
I'd just like your answers, don't just parrot uncle Bob, Freddy, Ariz and Pac.
Thanks
I think he has the right to refuse, but I think it's the wrong choice. Possibly not the wrong choice for him, but in the bigger picture it is the wrong choice. It is the wrong choice for the sport as a whole.
honestly, i think the mays coming up with these allegations this way and this much was the wrong choice for the sport as a whole.
even if pac was on something, you dont steal another man's money and ruin the image of the most famous boxer out right now. sure, if you feel threatened by a potential cheater you should do something. but ruining the most famous boxer out ruins the image of boxing aswell. i highly doubt pac would be the only one on something if he was on something.
You're right. People should be demanding better from the commission, promoters, fighters and sanctioning bodies. The problem is boxing has a horrible rep already, so most sports fans don't care. It's easy to rally people against drugs in MLB, because MLB has a commission and a central authority. Boxing is a rag tag sport, with thousands of interested parties. How do you go after all of them? People are rallying against Pac because this story brought the issue to the forefront, and he is the one on the front line refusing the testing.
Pacs massive ego is not a good reason to refuse this kind of testing. It's a reason, but it isn't a good one.
You are saying is not a good reason because is not you... You know what I am saying. I don't care what nobody says. You grew up dirt poor You start fighting, you are clean, and you are working your ass off, you busting your ass to become great. And, from all that hard work you start KO'ing Mofo's out. And, now you getting fame. You get known around the World, you start making millions. You are set for life. And, you become Idol a legend. You are beloved. And, beautiful is giving you pussy. And, you getting all this... Your ego is going to get bigger. Now a fighter comes asking you hey Red_Menace yea I know you passed all the mandatory drug tests but I want you to take this one. Are you telling me, you Red_Menace will you take it?
I am just saying put yourself in his shoes. Because, I think is easy from us to say yes just take the test because we are from a far. But. we not in there shoes. I just want you to place yourself in his position. With growing up dirt poor, with how everything evolved, and everything you accomplished, and you know damn well you did it clean. Will you do it? Honestly?
Because, honestly from me is hard to say. I would love for him to take it. But, then again I have not accomplished half the shit that he has. So his mindset is different from mined. I am looking at it from a far. So I try to put myself in his shoes, try to think like how he might think about all this, and honestly I could see how I might say, you know what fuck you Floyd fuck off. I could see where he is coming from...
i agree, the latter is more flawed, but why go out of the ordinary if you dont want to. im not manny. if i was him i'd be fine with the tests. but manny is manny, its his decision, and im only defending him because he is not in the wrong in declining that particular request.
I think he has the right to refuse, but I think it's the wrong choice. Possibly not the wrong choice for him, but in the bigger picture it is the wrong choice. It is the wrong choice for the sport as a whole.
Actually, there are things wrong with it, technically. They don't test for hGH and they notify the athletes ahead of time when they are going to collect samples. Doesn't sound like much, but it makes a big difference.

I don't get why people act so surprise to find out Pac has a huge ego... This man twice demanded a bigger share of the purse split against Hatton and Oscar. Yes he has an ego and yes he is not going to let Floyd demand shit. That is how he is, he feels he is the man, and he is running shit. But, at the end what I don't get is why everybody is upset at the boxer and not the commission? Is not Manny fault that the NSAC drug testing inadequate, nobody was complaining about the NSAC drug testing 2 months ago. Everybody was fine with Pac taking it 2 months ago. But, now is a big deal. If the commission had random blood testing in place we wouldn't be talking about this right now. Instead of focusing on the fighter why not focus on the commission? If us boxing fans are so upset about this. Why not send letters and emails to the commission demanding they get random blood testing as a mandatory. But, no fans don't want to that. Because, in reality fans don't care. They rather get in front of a computer and hate on a fighter or try to be in flame wars.

But, why take two different drug tests? Is the commission in charge of paying the fighters? Is the commission in charge of drug testing?
They wouldn't be taking two. The USADA testing would cover the requirements of the NSAC testing.
The executive director of the NSAC said, in a video interview posted on this forum, that he had no problem with athletes negotiating for additional drug testing, as long as the testing required by NSAC was covered. So, sorry, there was absolutely nothing wrong with what Floyd requested and they were not circumventing the authority of the NSAC.

see your the type that the question is for. You seem against better and random testing. Why and why not now? This is the biggest fight we have, on the biggest stage. These guys can change and clean thi sport now!
No they can not... what makes you think that? Again why not have random blood testing for Oscar-Floyd? that was the biggest money fight of all time and it was 2 and a half years ago. Was you asking this question then?
So basically this all boils down to Pac having a fragile ego? He needs to know he's the one in charge and calling all the shots. That's what this is?
You're right about the urine test.

Negotiation is purse split that is not under the commission jurisdiction. See everything is that gets negotiated is not under the commission jurisdiction but drug testing is. I am baffled that people don't understand. You are comparing apple and oranges here. You comparing negotiations with stuff does is not under the commission jurisdiction to something that is.
And, why would you make it for this fight? Why not for Oscar-Floyd? Was the not the biggest fight of the sport? That was just 2 and a half years ago. Why not make a big deal then? What if it gets done but then it does not become a mandatory and then we never random blood testing again. All this shit was for nothing. However, I would rather them go to the commission make a case on why it should it be mandatory. Get it as mandatory. Then everybody will be doing it. It will be fair for everybody. And, people can stop bitching...

Has Mayweather come overweight for a fight?
Has Pac failed a drug test.see your the type that the question is for. You seem against better and random testing. Why and why not now? This is the biggest fight we have, on the biggest stage. These guys can change and clean thi sport now!
the regular method was the lesser method.......
i dont think people going for pac are going for the lesser method....but for the regular method.....there wasnt anything wrong with it technically.....

but why even go there? Nothing else in the negotiation was a mandatory or commission problem. Ans if boxing were to use this method of testing, why don't the 2 biggest in the sport get it going? Its just very strange to me thw this is a problem. The commish had nothing o do with negotiations but Now?

Well without getting too elaborate, the NSAC is the authority on the matter, certainly they have jurisdiction, not the USADA. that being said, they could use a thing or two from better tests and methods employed by the USADA.
Actually, WADA and by extension the USADA are the authority on drug testing. They are the official international standard for drug testing in sport. The NSAC regulates combat sport in Nevada, but that doesn't mean their drug testing program is adequate. And they couldn't "use a thing or two from better tests and methods employed by the USADA", they could use the whole damned thing. The program is designed very carefully. Anything less would be an inferior program.

First of all urine can detect EPO but not HGH for the record...
Anyways who would not want random blood testing to become a mandatory. From what I read every fan does not have a problem with random blood test from the USADA or whoever as long as it is mandatory. That is really the big issue here is that is not mandatory. So Pac does not have to do a damn thing just cuz Floyd said so... That is all that it boils down to...

You're right about the urine test.
i thought the TS is calling for the pacfans
what's a flomo doing here?
to answer your question, it is pretty obvious that Manny will not submit to floyd for a lot of reasons already been discussed here repeatedly
but it seems that he is okay with NSAC. So as long as NSAC demands it I don't think Manny will have a problem. He just doesn't want to be someone's bitch...
And I'm sure NSAC will find a compromise amenable to both parties like cut-off dates for example. Manny will never agree on blood drawn from him close to the fight, NSAC can forget that

also, the NSAC has nothing to do with it....these are apart of the negotiations just like the weight limit, glove size etc
Really? So the commission does not have a drug test in placed?
if pacquiao can demand a 10 million penalty per pound over the weight limit it seems only fair that pacquiao accepts mayweathers request
Has Mayweather come overweight for a fight?
Has Pac failed a drug test.
