I think Mayweather would have a better legacy if he fought better fighters.
The same can be said for a lot of champions. If they won more titles and beat better opponents they'd probably have a better legacy.
his legacy really doesnt approximate the skills that he possess...
much like james toney...
the sad thing is, toney was undisciplined...
PBF is not...
That sort of hurt but you speak the truth, I agree all the way.
"legacy do not pay the bills, is you understanding that?" - FMJ
Wow his bills must be really high. Does he used a lot of electricity and gas. He should turn the lights off when hes not using them and dont leave the tv on standby that will bring his bills down a bit.
But PBF should be proud of his legacy. It is up there with DLHs and is very similar, so is something to be proud of. It is even better than DLHs in a way because he is unbeaten. But the unbeaten bit only increases himself ever so slightly.
Mayweather = ATG talent, G resume.
G for great or G for good?
Floyd has had a pretty fine career, but it could have certainly been better. I think you can say such a statement about many fighters but it is certainly applicable to this situation.
So what you are saying is that if he fought better fighters, his legacy would go up?
Consequently, since he has not fought better fighters, his legacy has not risen to where it could have.
Interesting. This is a good topic. Hopefully more of NSB's best will add their two cents on this stimulating topic.
Nice topic indeed. What happens if the quality of his opposition continues to decline, will his legacy then be worse even though he keeps his zero?

It can also be said that while some fighters have losses Floyd has no losses. The main difference between fighters with losses and fighters without is the number of losses.

All great boxers have historic battles and memorable defeats. Mayweather is not on that category. We will never know how good is PBF unless he would face the best boxer in his weight division. Paul Williams, Mosley and Pacman is taunting him but successfully ducked them. He would rather settle for little Fatton whom he can bitch-slapped !
have you ever thought about it though?
if he had have fought better fighters.. he'd be more highly regarded in the future. he'd have a better a legacy if you will
Well that's just common f*cking sense.
What a crappy thread. :tool:
I agree, his legacy is as transparent as a plain glass window!! Lil floyd been at welterweight for how long & the only remotely credible welter he's fought is Baldomir!!
