I watched 34 fights & he never achieved what he could of.his biggest mistake was throwing the wbc belt in the garbage.he was nevered ranked again in their ratings.rock Newman played hardball for years & when bowe lost the 2nd Holyfield fight he was always ranked behind don king fighters,& WBC never looked at him again.he got rich & got out.his trilogy with holyfield & 2 fights with golota were classics.weird things happen when he fought.he fought 5 former champs going 6-1.he was 3-1 in title fights & 2-0 in wbo title fights.he fought pinklon Thomas, cooper, tubbs, seldon, coetzer, dokes,Holyfield 3 times, donald, hide, mathis jr,jorge luis Gonzalez, golota twice.he made $ & had a good career but he got bit in the end by disrespecting the WBC.don king had control of the WBA & ibf rankings.he never got close again after he lost the belts.weak title defences vs Jesse ferguson & an old,out of shape michael dokes.
His 2 meetings with Golota still rank highly in my top 5 favourite fights of all. :box2:
Actually, I'd go so far as to say Bowe-Golota II is my all-time favourite fight.
In my personal opinion Riddick Bowe was the most talented Heavyweight I have ever seen. His combination of size, speed, footwork, power, in-fighting and fighting at a distance is unparalleled among heavyweights. I am not saying he is the most accomplished so don't start bashing. I am saying the most physically talented.

riddick
he eas eating too much, not training hard enough. But great talent. He would have beaten Lewis in 1993 i think.
People seems to forget that he signed to fight lewis in march 1995, however Lewis lost hes title against mccall in 94 and the foght was canselled.
bowe's last 3 fights were horrible to watch.280 he weighed & looked way older than he is.he needs to shut her down for good...I kind of laughed when I noticed lennox lewis at ringside for riddicks last fight in December 2008 vs pukall.
He had the skills to be great. But, I don't think he had the discipline and the mental strength that a great fighter should have.
I agree with this. I also think he could have went alot further without Rock Newman.
There was an article earlier this year about Bowe selling autographed memorabilia at a New Jersey flee market because he's broke. It's the common rags-to-riches back to rags boxing story...
actually in October I got a pair of his autographed trunks.I sold them to some lee guy for $100

Him throwing the belt in the garbage was one of the biggest mistakes he could have ever made, aside from kidnapping his girlfriend or wife or whatever. He had some great wars but in the end his potential was never reached, he also had a comeback that should have never been.
