I'm curious as to where this sudden demand for stricter testing came from.
So, I ask these questions,
Why not after any of Shane Mosleys fights after DLH? 2003
Why not James Toneys fights after Ruiz? 2005
Why not Fernando Vargas fights after DLH? 2002
Why not Roy Jones fights after Hall? 2000
If you're so adamant about stricter testing standards,
why wait so long and overlook the other guys who actually got caught?
Maybe this was the kind of controversy the sport needed to clean itself up.
Will never happen when the sport's top fighter, top trainer and top promoter are dead set against it.
I don't know about you but I can speak for myself and several others when saying it's been a hot topic for a few years now. The drums began beating a while ago.
True. Just like the drums began beating in baseball with MacGwire and Sosa but blew up with Bonds and Clemens. It's the same in boxing with people talking about it but it blew up for this fight because of the magnitude. Pacquiao refusing the test put more fuel on the fire, not to mention his teams strange comments. It's a weak argument when people say "this was never talked about" or "this has never happened". Everything has a first time.
Agreed. Furthermore, it's irrelevant. TS is no different than the people who he wants to call out: A fan who lets his little bias get in the way of logical thinking. If it wasn't so, this thread wouldn't even exist.

You must be hiding something then.
If you have the evidence,
all you have to do is simply, "take the test".
You keep asking for people to "prove it" or their lying. Does that mean Pacquiao is lying because he won't "prove it" by taking a more sophisticated test than the standard urine test he's been taking? ios he hiding something too?
And guess what?It doesn't matter if it just came up recently....the fact of the matter is that this can only be good for the sport whether it's been discussed before or not, or whether "flomos" are just doing it now for whatever reason!!What matters is that it's finally being done! There's a first time for everything you know?
And no, I personally don't have any past threads....happy now?Does that make me not credible in your eyes?I'm sorry.....guess what, I never cared about it ti'll now, that's right.....is that bad?Sorry....:lol1:
P.S:Pac is still refusing to submit to these random tests.....
Schaefer
"Now that I've learned more about this, boxing now will have an outspoken advocate for blood testing in the sport," Schaefer said. "I plan to ask Nevada to have Travis Tygart explain why blood tests are necessary. "
Kizer
GL: As of now have any petitions been filed?
KK: "No."
"The main problem with steroids in a boxer is that it predisposes you to bleeding in the brain," said Dr. Goodman. "It can affect your liver, which affects your ability to clot blood."http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/1819/boxing-steroids/
Thanks for the links btw

is it fair for any fighter to request blood test because they have doubt? why should one fighter be a special case. their is a fair way to sort this out but forcing a fighter with no history of skulduggery is wrong.
Of course I can link you to past articles. You need a google link? In the search line type steroids and boxing then put in dates prior to 2009. Simple. You'll find plenty.
I'm a Floyd fan, now? In the words one poster...PROVE IT.
/Of Thread....now go away tortilla....lol

Thats cool and all, but I'm just asking for solid evidence that people cared about this before.
Not a single has been able to "prove it".
Kind of funny, especially when these same people are asking Manny to do the same thing,
"prove it".
I knew this is exactly what you were trying to do......You are trying to piss people off into saying something like "I don't have to prove anything to you" or some shitt like that. Then you would turn around and say "well that's what you flomos want to be done to pac"!!
I knew it all along but good thing nobody fell for it.:nana:
Because everybody who fights them is either too stupid or scared to ask for tests. They have gotten away with cheating before, and i wouldn't be surprised at all if they were to cheat again.
By asking these questions you make it seem like your content with people using PED's.
So why hasn't Schaefer aka "anti-doping advocate" filed for a petition?
i agree but we should not make a particular fighter a special case without evidence. if lets say their is a date where it is agreed that all professional fights from that day on have to be blood tested then fine. you cant pick and choose a certain fighter because you have a feeling. thats not fair.
agreed.......
no i mean if he said we should have better testing not saying someone is on roids

pac wont do that to a fighter without cause and he wont ask for several if he knows the fighter has a problem with it.

Thats not even what this thread is about.
The point is, where was all this concern in the last 10 years as boxers were indeed getting caught by the standards that are now, apparently, not good enough?
Where is the cry for testing in the Mosley Berto bout that is coming up?
Mosley was indeed a past user, so he of all people, should be subjected to this type of scrutiny.
but strangely enough,
hes not.
For me I would want a random test.
But things are complicated I think even some of the boxing offical have some test result and would blackmail or use it to his advantage.
I think Mosely should be tested and be banned but now it was back and the offical where not effective in dealing with the sitaution.
Also the last Olympic there was very heavy testing, could have inspired the thoughs, and still the performance of many athelete was okay in evidence that there was alot of world record broken in China.
if pacman or anyother fighter ask for stringent test would you have a problem with it.
pac wont do that to a fighter without cause and he wont ask for several if he knows the fighter has a problem with it.
