Let's flip it around. Let's say Floyd was the one refusing to do testing that Manny's people request.
A lot of you would be calling Floyd a cheater and a steroid user. You would say, Floyd's ducking the fight because he's hiding something or he doesn't want to fight Pacquiao.
But somehow, when Manny refuses testing, it's Floyd's fault and Floyd is trying to duck. Whaaaa??? If I told you to take a drug test before I hired you for a job, and you said no, what would that tell me? Either you are hiding something or you don't want the job. If your employer asked you for a drug test, and you said no, would that mean the employer is trying to not hire you? Like it's some way of avoiding? No. It's because they have money at stake and they want to ensure you're clean and won't be a liability.
People need to get their heads on straight and look at this from an unbiased point of view.
Anyway, this fight will get done. So relax.
What does Pacquiao have to hide? That's the only question that matters.
I just saw what Roach said to Dan Rafael on ESPN's Sportscenter. Team Pacman agreed to a drug test before and after the fight, but not when he's in the middle of training. Roach said they can take random drug test in the middle of the night, right in the middle of training or any time they want. Team Pac doesn't want that. They can do the test right after the fight, within minutes, there's no difference if you ask me. So, is he hiding something?
If Floyd would refuse his own demands? lol
Floyd is the one wanting this shit, not Manny. Of course he won't refuse.
Seriously, **** this fight. Let Floyd go on and fight some featherweight @ 154, I don't care anymore. Bring on Manny Vs Mosley, that would be an awesome fight.
Haha I know what you mean. These things often happen that way.
Both are trying to say, "I'm the mothafukker of boxing bitch!" and we might all end up as losers because this fight might get lost in the shuffle...
OR, somebody out there is a marketing genius. With all these NFL race and the Holiday season to compete, they found a way for this fight to get talked about. We might not even know it but the fight is already made, and all the people involved will be laughing their way to the bank after March 13...
Floyd's family has a history of drug-taking but even so Manny wouldn't ask him to and wouldn't accuse him of drug-taking, that's the difference. Floyd is just taking cheap shots at Pac's rep and trying to weaken him before the fight.
Do you really think that it will be this easy to make this fight? From the get-go, and I know you're with me on this one, it will be a difficult process massaging these guys' ego to make this fight happen. It's not about the random drug test anymore, because Pacman already agreed to this, but not close to fight night. Team Pac even agreed to a test right after the fight. They can raise his right hand (if he emerged victorious) and take some blood samples on his left arm at the same time, no difference, my feeling is it just turned into a pissing contest...
Haha I know what you mean. These things often happen that way.
The bias has almost gotten ridiculous. If Manny tests positive, I guarentee you people will still take his side and blame Floyd somehow.
I don't really care for either fighter, but the double standards are outrageous. Floyd has agreed to every Pacquiao demand, yet somehow he's the villian.
What demands?
**** 3 days....
roach commented that they wouldn't agree to do it within 6 WEEKS of the fight.... :nonono:
Don't let your heart overrule your brains for a minute, there's a thread here that says Roach agreed to a compromise, read it...
Great post. Even with this latest developement, the negotiations haven't been as painful as Cotto-Pacquiao, because this fight makes itself.

Nobody's refusing the random drug test, Team Pacman just doesn't want it close to fight night, or at least 3 days before the fight. They are even willing to do it right after the fight, what's the difference?

True. But unlike the Cotto fight Pac isn't necessarily the bigger draw. He doesn't have that edge on the negotiations. So while this latest development might not be the thing that kills this fight, it's definitely not going to be the last development that threatens to.
Of all of the contract drama I can remember, this is the one that is bothering me the most. Boxing has been in such dire straights for a while now, it blows my mind that when you have the opportunity for a fight that could go down as one of the ATGs you have this much nonsense in the contracts. Then again, this is boxing.
I'm gonna go watch The Great White Hype and drink myself to sleep until March 13th.

yea, i was talking about this, when the news broke...i can't imagine the tone of the threads if it was floyd refusing the testing.
The thing that drives me crazy is that I don't think either fighter is trying to duck the other, I don't think either fighter is on roids, and I don't think either fighter is not gonna make weight.
I just think this is the two biggest names in boxing beating their chests, trying to get a tiny mental edge. All it's really doing is detracting from the fight itself and possibly endangering it.
Just get in the ring. For once in your careers, just get in the ring. Don't worry about money, or ring size, or catch weights, or blood tests, or venues. Just get in the ring this one time and fight. The fight is worth more to your legacies and the happiness of your fans than anything else.

Same here buddy. It will happen, don't worry.

i SA with both of you.....

Flip it around whichever way you prefer, I still don't care. Either get in the ring or don't. I'm tired of this shit.
