Boxing looking good for U.S. TV

Now that the New Year is here I am even more thrilled about this!!

More fights on TV mean good things for boxing. I think this is great news.

You're not seeing the big picture, back in the 80's, 70's, and 60's boxers in the championship level would fight much more often than they are now. I'm not saying a mega fight like in the level of Pacquiao-Mayweather, just fights that are suppose to happen like Berto/Mosley and we rarely see that nowadays because of all the corruption that's going on, and it's hurting the fans. Boxing today still remains too inactive. For example Steven Luevano vs Juan Manuel Lopez, that's an okay fight, but nothing to get excited about. You are missing my point I am just excited a fight is on period. Of course fighters don't fight as often they make too much money. Guys like Pac and Floyd making 10-20 million to fight eachother why would they risk their health and fight more than 2 times a year? Makes no sense. You can't compare the 50's 60's and even the 70's to today. Guys were making peanuts back then compared to now. This is why you have to take interest on fighters when they are on the comeup. They will be more active....Lefty

All we need for boxing to be back on TV is fights that are televised. There are tons of great fights with lots of action but often we don't see them. You cannot alqway think MEGA FIGHTS. We are lucky we get 5 MEGA FIGHTS a year much less 5 of them in the first month. Lets be real my friend you are asking for something that is undeliverable. As long as fights are on TV and we watch them when they are on they will continue to put them on TV. If Boxing was back, there would 4 or 5 mega fights every month. For the month of January there is only mega fight which is Mosley/Berto, no good fights for February except for Adamek/Estrada and that's not even a mega fight. Once again corrupt promoters and corrupt networks promising a lot of things but NEVER delivering. All we need for boxing to be back on TV is fights that are televised. I admit I am kind of excited about 2010. Fox recently announced a deal with Top Rank to do a new series of televised cards, ESPN2 returns January 8th. Showtime will give us the shobox shows and return with the super six. HBO will open with this card on the 23rd of January: At New York (HBO): Steven Luevano vs. Juan Manuel Lopez, 12 rounds, for Luevano's WBO featherweight title; Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Rogers Mtagwa, 12 rounds, for Gamboa's WBA "regular" featherweight title HBO will also air this card on the 30th Sugar Shane Mosley vs. Andre Berto, 12 rounds, WBA/WBC welterweight unification; Glen Johnson vs. Yusaf Mack, 12 rounds, IBF light heavyweight elimination AND FEBURARY IS EVEN BETTER And I will be back to watch it all!!!!!!!! OMG a thread in the NSB I want to post in. The Luevano vs. Lopez & Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Rogers Mtagwa show looks great! I can't wait. That is a great card!
