I've seen him fight a few times now and I've been impressed. IMO he deserved AT LEAST a draw against Campbell, and he was robbed against Guzman.
What do you think of Funeka? Can he beat another top LW like Marquez or not? How do you think he will pan out? Titlist? Can he own the division?
What are your thoughts?
I wish Funeka and Williams were in the same weight class. Just imagining what that fight would look like.
I'm sure they could meet at 145. They're freaks of nature in their respective divisions.

When I think of these guys I sometimes think about Kareem's martial arts days...

This scenario reminds me of Ike Quartey against Oscar Delahoya and I wouldn't blame the guy if he didnt come back to America for what to get robbed. Chris John felt the same way against rocky juarez and Paulie Malinaggi felt that way to and hes from Brooklyn. Raw deals need to stop in this sport. Back to Funeka, hes a freak of nature with the long arms and the height but he isnt polished and his jab could be a lot better and more percice. He needs to work ob his defense and working behind along Tommy hearns like Jab and closing eyes slowing and behind one of those jabs will come a sraight shot that want be seen. Good night.
Is what I suggested last nght on my show...Valero vs Funeka

Cool, thanks man. I haven't heard you guys yet, I've been meaning too. I'll check it out in a bit.
Maybe a Valero-Funeka fight can be done. I would watch that.

Funeka is good. I'm a supporter, although I haven't seen too many of his fights. I am looking forward to seeing what's next for him.
Possibly, yes. I think his size and reach pose problems for the shorter fighters in the division.
My problem is, I think Funeka can be countered quite well, which isn't good against Marquez. Who knows though.

If he got put on the canvas he was able to get off the canvas and win rounda after that which tells me more about him than I knew. he has heart my man and skills...Things you cannot teach a fighter...Lefty
Good point. I like Funeka, seems like a good guy.
Wait, he didn't get dropped? I remember him getting dropped.

Yes but he was not...He might have been hurt but he did not get dropped....To me he got locked inside that room in his head but he found his way out and survived. To me a boxer getting hurt and beign able to hang on is part of what we as fans want to see a fighter go through. He to me passed one of the main tests for a fighter.....Letty

He does have a good chin, but I'm not sold yet. Against Campbell, who's not a huge puncher, at times he looked like he could be KOed.

Campbell has a 76% ko percentage and casamayor said he hit him the hardest.
He got some good pop at lightweight.
Interesting. I never viewed Campbell as a big hitter.

He's the Paul Williams of 135
First time I saw Funeka, I was like, "Get this guy a steak". He's a string bean.

I beleive his height size and style will give alot of fighters trouble at 135-140. I think he won the fight against Campbell and he defintely won against Guzman. His range and boxing skills are underrated and he has a good beard from what I have seen from him. His jab looked really good against Guzman and he was able to take over the fight after a few rounds. I mentioned him last night on the show when we were talking about Valero and I said I think he would give Valero major problems if they met up. I think he would give anyone a problem right now at that weight....Lefty

He should be the new IBF lightweight champion, right now. He's a tough fighter for anybody, in my opinion. He has a great height advantage and has some decent punches.
