He does most of his damage right in the center of the ring. He keeps a distance and he circles.
Andre Dirrell runs.
Miguel Cotto ran for the last 6 rounds again Pacquaio
Oscar ran against Trinadad
There is a big difference between running and spacing. In many of Floyd fights by the end of the fight he is the one stalking his opponent.
Even when backing up he is always countering. He knocked out Hatton backing up while countering. That is boxing skill not running.
You can argue he has ducked opponents, but to call him a runner in the ring is a cliche'.
Not saying he will or won't beat Pacquiao, but whatever he does or attempts to do won't be an effort to run and will be finding the proper style to win the fight be it agressive coming forward or countering Manny's incoming onslaught.
Shithead, your hero Floyd has been a welterweight since before Barack Obama was a US Senator-- yet he has never fought a welterweight.
You are a fan of Floyd, ergo shithead, you don't know boxing. Please go back to watching "Do You Think You Can Dance" or whatever gay shit you normally do.
I know you were talking to someone else, but I have to reply anyway.
You said he NEVER fought a Welterweight? And you're calling someone else a shithead? LOL!
Do the names Zab Judah or Carlos Baldomir ring a bell?
threadstarter--don't even bother trying to comprehend these assclowns on this forum--it's pointless--as lng as floyd keeps racking up those victories in dominating fashion---people pn here can say what they say and it'll mean nothing---let them call him what they want--they're supposed to---that way the win over their favortie fighter is that much more bittersweet---we know he doesn't run--and we know he's the best fighter in boxing this decade and the most dominating fighter this era has been subjected to--and he will once again dominate anotther fighter of the month in pac---we know this---and this in no way is disrespecting pacman---floyd is just that good---
Dude, there really is no need to try to explain pure boxing to FIGHT fans. They dont understand that it's called boxing not stand and trade. Floyd is a pure boxer, if he can outbox you all night then he will, he has no reason to fight. The day somebody is outboxing him then he will have to fight. Until then he will just be a pure boxer.
Most these guys just dont understand that
Pernell Whitaker is one of my all time favorite fighters, top 3 even.
He was a pure boxer who didn't run from challenges.
He was a pure boxer who also stood in the pocket exchanging with his foe even when he had less power than Floyd.
Floyd runs from superfeatherweights,
in welterweight fights.
LOL at some random dude from the internetz telling peepz they dont know boxing!
shane mosley called floyd a runner, he dont know nothin about boxing? lol
What Direll did I would consider textbook example of running, Floyd doesn't run.
Direll is a perfect example of someone with great skills, but hasn't learn to be a boxer, so he runs when he gets pressured.
Once again show me evidence of running..Against Baldomir he stood right in middle of the ring..against Oscar in the later rounds he was the more agressive and often the first person to punch.
Once again this is inside he ring if you read my post this hand nothing to do with ducking opponents.
I can show you 6 rounds of Cotto running and everyone called him a warrior for "hanging in there"..but when it appeared he would be KOed he ran to try to make it to the bell.
I am a fan of boxing not of any particular fighter.
running would be RETREATING. he's not. he's just a defensive fighter. its just an excuse to hate him. he's annonying as hell but still a great fighter. boring. but still a great fighter. can't take that away from him.

Not only does he run, he hides too.
true
like he went into hiding for two years then came out when all the top welters all fought and beat each other
green k
i dont think mayweather runs i just think he plays it way too safe in fights lately, there is almost no offense by him.
In the jmm fight he could of easily started to actually throw combos and hurt JMM by the 5th or 6th round but instead dragged the fight out 6 more rounds. I dont mind if he is a defensive fighter, but he still needs to put in some offense.
he always runs away from opponents he was supposed to fight! (read all previous threads here)
And now he is running away from the March 13 megafight!
If you know boxing as a sport, it's not only the skills and techniques that are important here, it's also the heart! Does Floyd have the heart??? That's the question you might want to ask yourself!
