This is really not that hard to comprehend. Pacquiao lives in the philippines, he works in the UNTIED STATES OF AMERICA, the most INTERNATIONAL & GLOBAL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.
His fights are shown all over the world not just in east asia. its shown in french, russian, uk, almost all of latin american countries, his fights vs the 3 mexican Hall of famers have endeared him to mexicans & latin americans.
He was on time magazine, has a endorsement with interantional giant nike. Filipinos are not just located in the philippines but INTERNATIONALLY. From la, uk, germany, dubai, guam, hawaii, along with the advancement of global technology in terms of socialization, entertainment, & sports,
Pacquiao is global.
Just so we're clear, would you consider the Klitschcko's living legend? They are about equally as global.
On a side note, I can't believe we're debating something this subjective.
dude when people ask if an athlete is a "living legend" they usually mean it with in the sport that athlete is associated with. wth is wrong with you?
ofcourse he's not a legend like Jesus is a legend.
Alright. I give up. You guys win.
All hail Manny Pacquiao, the world's newest living legend.
i guess you are too hung up to read the other parts of the posts or you just choose to be selective & try to save your ignorant posts with maybe for philipinos only. Did you read & comprehend the other asian countries?
I have vietnamese, chinese, hell i even have indian friends who know & watch pacquiao.
Your first posts pfft he's a boxer. then proceeds to describe another boxer as why he's a legend.
There are cricket players in india who are living legends but since you never heard of them they are not right?
YOu are too hung up on ali, its okay to give legend status to other human beings other than ali.
michael schumacher is considered a legend, but according to your logic he's not.
I think we have different criteria for "living legends".
When I think of that term I'm thinking beyond sports, beyond advertising. In that sense, like I said, Pac is a living legend to Pinoys, and if you want to extend that to other Asian countries fine.
But I don't believe Pac has made that leap to be recognized as a living legend on a global scale.
What does that have to do with being a living legend. Boxing is not even a major sport in most parts of the world.
Just cause Pete Weber was a great bowler, doesn't mean he's a living legend.

where do you work? 1987 ???
u see marky mark jumping up and down like a school girl on every pac fight?
every fighter interviewed is asked about pac.
everyone around his weight class desperately wants to fight him.
he's the face of boxing weather you like him or not.

Maybe for Pinoys. Not for anyone else.
If I screamed Manny Pacquiao at the top of my lungs in the middle of my cafeteria at work, more people would think I'm looking for the janitor. He's simply not that famous yet.

pfft he's a boxer,
then follows that with describing why another boxer is a legend.
spoken like a true ignorant stupid ass hair. Both of your statements reek of utter ignorance.
Like a rich guy saying money is not a problem or a white guy talking about why there is no racism in america. STFU.
Im not philippino but im dating a filipina, let me tell you Pacquiao is a living legend.
ECONOMICALLY, SOCIALLY, EMOTIONALLY, Pacquiao affects every single filipino whenever he fights.
Crime rates hit zero when he fights, military troops & rebel forces have a cease fire so they can watch him fight. He has done movies, music, sports, politics in the philippines. He has given millions of his own hard earned cash to start schools, hospitals, & charities.
So ali can be a legend for the african americans but Pacquiao cant for filipinos & asians?
His fights are shown in japan, china, thailand, indonesia, & almost all east asian countries.
He has opened doors for other asian boxers & made it possible for them to have a successful international career. You will see a lot more asian boxers try to make their fame & fortune here in the states because of manny pacquiao.
His emergence as a ppv headliner will increase income & exposure for lower weight fighters & asian fighters.
Manny Pacquiao = living legend.
STFU & go & live in different parts of the world & do a little reading before you make a short sighted & ignorant statement again.
There's a huge difference between Ali and Pacquiao on a global scale. Manny barely talks. Ali was a voice of his time.
And why did you go on trying to disprove me? What did I say first in that post? Read it again.
I said, "Maybe for Pinoys". You wasted your time writing that huge long post cause you didn't read what I said. You say Pacquiao is a living legend for Pinoys. I said that first. You don't need to go on a 500 word ramble to reaffirm what I already said.
the Pacman is a living legend!
and i don't care what the floydettes are saying!
Maybe for Pinoys. Not for anyone else.
If I screamed Manny Pacquiao at the top of my lungs in the middle of my cafeteria at work, more people would think I'm looking for the janitor. He's simply not that famous yet.
Pacman does'nt really need this fight to "BE" and more likely just for financial gain and just to "PUT MAYWEATHER IN HIS PLACE".
Mayweather need this fight more than Pacman period.
FLoyd definately needs Pac more than Pac needs Floyd. Floyd has got a lot resting on this fight with Pac. He is hoping to do something real good with Pac. It will make up for some of the chilling out and slacking he has been getting away with these last few years. He hopes he can pull something great out of the bag for Pac to make up for his lethargy of late.
Living legend. Pfft.
He's a f'n boxer.
Muhammed Ali is a living legend. He meant more to the world culturally and politically than any boxer ever. Pacquiao is not even close. You aren't a living legend for being a boxer, doing charity, and shooting beer commercials.
He's a living legend even if Floyd KOs him within 30 seconds of the 1st round, and so is Floyd. Whoever wins the fight will go down in history as one of the greatest imo, especially if it's a clear win.
Marquez, Morales, and Mayweather should be called, "The Legend Killer".
Pacquiao just can't handle the three "M"s.
lol!
he retired morales, marquez NEVER beat him and kissed the canvas 4 times, and mayweather? we'll see... he might be the one
I'll anwer this question on March 14th
