This is really not that hard to comprehend. Pacquiao lives in the philippines, he works in the UNTIED STATES OF AMERICA, the most INTERNATIONAL & GLOBAL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. His fights are shown all over the world not just in east asia. its shown in french, russian, uk, almost all of latin american countries, his fights vs the 3 mexican Hall of famers have endeared him to mexicans & latin americans. He was on time magazine, has a endorsement with interantional giant nike. Filipinos are not just located in the philippines but INTERNATIONALLY. From la, uk, germany, dubai, guam, hawaii, along with the advancement of global technology in terms of socialization, entertainment, & sports, Pacquiao is global. Just so we're clear, would you consider the Klitschcko's living legend? They are about equally as global. On a side note, I can't believe we're debating something this subjective.

I think we have different criteria for "living legends". When I think of that term I'm thinking beyond sports, beyond advertising. In that sense, like I said, Pac is a living legend to Pinoys, and if you want to extend that to other Asian countries fine. But I don't believe Pac has made that leap to be recognized as a living legend on a global scale.

Crime rates hit zero when he fights, military troops & rebel forces have a cease fire so they can watch him fight. He has done movies, music, sports, politics in the philippines. He has given millions of his own hard earned cash to start schools, hospitals, & charities. So ali can be a legend for the african americans but Pacquiao cant for filipinos & asians? His fights are shown in japan, china, thailand, indonesia, & almost all east asian countries. He has opened doors for other asian boxers & made it possible for them to have a successful international career. You will see a lot more asian boxers try to make their fame & fortune here in the states because of manny pacquiao. His emergence as a ppv headliner will increase income & exposure for lower weight fighters & asian fighters. Manny Pacquiao = living legend. Pacman does'nt really need this fight to "BE" and more likely just for financial gain and just to "PUT MAYWEATHER IN HIS PLACE". Mayweather need this fight more than Pacman period. FLoyd definately needs Pac more than Pac needs Floyd. Floyd has got a lot resting on this fight with Pac. He is hoping to do something real good with Pac. It will make up for some of the chilling out and slacking he has been getting away with these last few years. He hopes he can pull something great out of the bag for Pac to make up for his lethargy of late.
