The man has all-time great boxing skills, in my opinion, and he didn't use them against the top competition of the last few years (Cotto, Margarito, Mosley, etc.). I think he could've done very well against the top fighters but he just didn't. There's still some time left in his career, but I think he missed the better competition.
Sure, he'll be remembered as a great fighter who had amazing boxing skills, but he could've done so much more.

I agree with u, but at least he's fighting Pac, and he was eager to take the fight. If he fights Mosley right after Pac I can't diss him anymore. I think he's great but at welter he's an underachiever.
What? who you you TAKE OUT of his resume to add those guys. The guy is 40-0 and to make a fight you need ages promoting it. NO one fights for free.
Floyd has fought great opposition, he's not some Undefeated protected guy, he's the real deal. He's fought champions all his life.
You describe top competition as who? Pacquiao has ducked ALLOT MORE PEOPLE than you say Floyd did and no one is calling that out. It's like that youtube guy said. Propaganda trying to make people believe Floyd is an underachiever. LOL He dominated the p4p ranks LONGER than anyone active. 10 freaking years in the p4p top. WHO ELSE has done that and IF FLOYD did something wrong, WHY DID THEY ELECTED HIM P4P for so many years??????
Haters can't explain that. You are an Alt too. Creating more than one account is just gay. I can call you a c0ck sucker and i don't feel like i need to hide in and shit so man up and wake up.
lmao did you even read the post you quoted or are you just not very smart? because the TS did not come off as a "hater" at all.
I think Floyd is a great fighter who should have fought Mosley, Cotto when he had a chance but he didnt, he did waste his amazing talent (or atleast a couple of years worth)by not fighting and most likely beating those guys
I dont know why they say boxing fans are so educated, whoever says that should take a look at this forum lol
Well PBF, supposedly has a great resume at around the 130lb divsions. What he has achieved of late he certainly has dissapointed.
Not challenging himself by fighting Hatton at 147 instead of 140, as well as getting JMM to step up 2 weight divisions. How about PBF stepping up 2 divisions for his comeback fight and fighting pavlik?
His beating of DLH is nothing really as DLH was a WW all his life, and had just filled out with age to 154. Not really any advantages there for DLH, but rather disadvantages because he was slower.
Plus SSM beat DLH more convincinly in DLHs prime and the likes of pernell witaker did just as well as PBF did as did i cant remember his name tito trinidad.
Definitely. Thought he had more skills than anyone I had ever seen - including James Toney and Marco Antonio Barrera who I thought were two of the best. And he did some great things from 130-135. Not so much since. I can't be mad - he's a human being and no one wants to end up like Ali. At the same time, I don't think he has proven worthy of the status he and his diehards have given him.
I honestly don't believe Margarito would be able to touch Floyd if they ever fought. No one should ever say Floyd shouldn't have fought Hatton as he was accused of ducking Hatton and Baldomir (who was the lineal champ and therefore more of a necessary fight than Margarito).
He should have fought both Cotto and Mosley by now but thats both fighters faults in both cases. I do feel he could have fought more top opposition in the higher weights but truth is some didn't want it with him until he became enough of a draw to outweigh the risk of fighting him.

OMG,
A real boxing fan posting a thread,
it changes a lot of few dellusionnal Pactards and denial Flomos threads.
In the last 8 years,
the best around 140 were WWRIGHT,Forrest,Cotto,Mosley,Margo,Tszyu.
HE FOUGHT NONE OF THEM,the bests he fought were Judah and Oscar and I dont rank these guys in the elite since they always lost against elite comp.
I think Floyd is a great fighter anyway,he's maybe TOP 50 ATG at 30,wich means a lot.
Now,
if he'd have beat Forrest,Winky,Mosley,an undefeated Cotto,Margo and Tszyu all that shit in a row in the last 7 years instead of fightin the Judahs,Hatton and Baldos of the world,
Dude would be TOP 10 easy, even TOP 5.
He can reach the TOP 20 beatin Pac,Williams and a forty Mosley but it's a lil bit too late.
Bottom line,
I dont think he would have beat a prime Winky.
Margo and Mosley would have give him an hard time.
It ain't Gatti,Baldomirs pressure.
So he choose the Money and easy fights way.
BUT HE WILL BE REGARDED AS IT.:boxing:
Same here, he wasted the whole damn decade not fighting he should have fighting in his weight class.....just compare his resume to Pac, damn if not for his no loss record his resume stinks more than shit!!! Just imagine if he had a loss, hell be any other boxer who just passed by in this era....Not like Pac, if he loses he still has a formidable resume to be envied for by any boxer......But in fairness to FMJ his skills is still unmatched for all time, but thats it....
