Why wont Dawson embrace the idea of fighting Pascal?

I think he's just sick of constantly being ranked behind Hopkins at light heavy, especially when Bernard won't fight him. Also, a Hopkins fight, at this point in time, is probably his biggest payday. If Pascal wins tonight, I'm pretty sure that Dawson will fight him next. That would likely represent the biggest fight for him.

ok so what did we learn today...we learned that: 1. Dawson is fighting the best and ducking no one 2. Hopkins fans are hating on Dawson for fighting the best 3. Hopkins fans are making up an excuse a minute not to fight Dawson, despite the fact that Hopkins is #4 p4p 4. Hopkins last good win over a legit Lightheavy was Tarver, 5 years and counting

By the best you mean a shot Johnson Hopkins beat 10 years ago, when he was undefeated, and not the version with over 10 losses, and the shot Tarver Hopkins beat almost 5 years ago when he was the lightheavyweight King and had just cleaned out the division? A victorious Dawson said last night he'd like next to fight the legendary Bernard Hopkins, but that if he can't get "The Executioner" he'd like to face the Jean Pascal-Adrian Diaconu II winner. With B-Hop busy already - first against Enrique Ornelas in December, and then, if victorious, against fellow legend Roy Jones Junior in a rematch next year - it seems Dawson's chances of landing that fight are slim. Let me post this again for those in the thread. Please show me where he said he's NOT gonna fight the winner of Pascal/Diaconu

whoever thinks Pascal draws in Montreal is mistaken. People here hate Pascal. There were 10,000 people for Pascal-Diaconu I and a good 75% were there for Diaconu. His mandatory vs Branco sold only 4000 tickets. I know that is a lot for US televised events, but in Montreal that number is just awful. I spoke to Dave Spencer from ********* yesterday at the weigh-in and according to him the promoters are giving away tickets to this rematch fight. The only solid draw in Montreal or Quebec City for that matter is Lucian Bute.

I've just realised. The question should be the other way round: Why would Pascal fight Dawson? Pascal is the bigger name. Noone knows who Dawson is. Pascal gets 20,000 people turning up to his fights. Dawson can't get 1,000 to his. People know who he is in Europe as well because of his excellent war with Froch and the fact he is French speaking. Pascal has a title and is an exciting fight. Dawson is a boring hypejob with no title. Seems illogical for Pascal to take the fight, Dawson needs to build himself up some more.

He can embrace the idea, after he gets a definate yes or no answer from Hopkins. only way nard says yes is if he can get golden boy to stack the deck on dawson...
