Dude got hit with everything but the kitchen sink, and was walking into shot, and took twice as many shots as Cotto and about five times more than Hatton since Hatton got iced in two before he fell in the ninth. Dude is ruined for sure.
Oh shut up Tua. 135 was no problem at all for Pacquiao he made 138 after having breakfast and lunch. 130 was bothering him but when he moved up we couldn't stop hearing about how comfortable he was.
Tua is right. Pacquiao had to cut a hell of a lot of weight to make 135 as well.
He was 147 on fight night.
Pacquiao at 130, would come to fight at 146
if you guys watch the fight again. PAC fought diaz differently compare to his other opponents. Notice Pac ddidnt lunge forward as much and use his forward momentum for extra power. But instead Pac just box Diaz ear off. Diaz is so stationary, a Pac boxer is more than enough for Diaz. With that said thats how Diaz survive till the late rounds.
He looks the same, just a tad bigger. His in fight weight has not increase. He just doesn't cut weight.
he was 147 fight night against diaz.
he really is the same size just a bit more developed and bigger in some areas.
I think that 135 was comfortable for Pacquiao. He has added muscle and strength since then, and Roach said that they won't/can't go back to 135.
Manny has gotten bigger/stronger since he connected with Ariza.
i think pac was comfortable at 135. i think he can still make 135 if needed.
But Pac has been accustomed to cutting 15, 16 pounds.
i don't know about accustomed to 15-16 lbs.
he was accustomed to about 10-12 lbs. or so though.
it still takes a little bit from you cutting 10-12 lbs. though not much but a little.
Pacquiao was moving up in weight and was trying new things. The Diaz fight was the first fight I had saw less off balance after hrowing punches. I didn't see him leave himself open for counters as much. I saw him hook off the jab an duse his right hand a lot more then in previous fights. 135 against Diaz was Pacquiao's coming out party....To me seeing him at that weight he looked great he put on a boxing demonstration for the first time I saw him do it...Regardless o fhi sopponent he gave us a real show....Diaz has a great chin but he also has a ton of determination....Lefty

I agree David Diaz is tough MOFO, but i have to also add that PAC was not sitting too much on his punches during that fight ....
I remember after the fight some poster here and in other boards commented that PAC will be knockingout more of his opponnents if he was sitting more on his punches ...

did i say he had problems making 135?
i sometimes argue with people because they don't believe me that pacquiao can still make 135.
don't put words in my mouth because you misunderstand.
pacquiao cut 2 lbs. in the cotto fight.
pacquiao cut 12 lbs. in the diaz fight.
cutting weight takes a little bit from you.
Actually Diaz's defense was really good in that fight. His turtle shell helped him get to nine.
yeah he caught a lot of punches with his arms.
problem was pacquiao was throwing 100 a round.
there was no resting against diaz. diaz kept coming forward.
plus diaz fighting at 135 , he's more use to pac's speed than cotto or hatton.
few are as fast as pacquiao but at 135 you got much faster guys compared to 140 and 147.
yeah cotto was in survival mode for half the fight.
diaz kept plodding forward to the end.
diaz fought as high as 147. he's one tough sob.
plus pacquiao having to cut weight to 135 instead of barely cutting any weight at 140 and 147 probably lessened pacquiao's punches a bit.

Cotto and Hatton are better, but Diaz is tougher than both guys. Cotto lasted longer but wasn't tryin to win no more.

True, Cotto was just surviving, I think he'd have seen it as an achievement just to get through the whole 12.
Diaz was giving it all he had until the KO.

Diaz makes for a better punching bag than both of them.
Actually Diaz's defense was really good in that fight. His turtle shell helped him get to nine.
I agree that Diaz is tougher than both, but Cotto was taking the punches pretty well till around the 6th(aside from the KD in the 4th).
People also gotta remember that Pacquiao is not the same fighter as he was vs. Diaz...he's improved drastically.
But to your basic point...I agree. Diaz is tough as nails and tougher than both Hatton and Cotto.

Diaz was getting wobbled every round, he started bleeding in the second. I remember even his shoulder was bleeding. He's a tough mother fk.
Manny still looked like the 130 lb Manny though, it seems after he fought Oscar his accuracy improved and thus he gained power. Because although he took more shots than Cotto, Manny still missed more. He threw about 100 punches per round but only landed like 25-30% of them. Manny of late is hitting the 50%'s
