A Shane Mosley-Paul Williams fight seems a lot more competitive to a lot of people now I bet. Too bad Mosley took less money to fight Berto. Who's not even as good as Martinez or Williams.

are you crazy? tall rangy boxers are no good for mosley. especially pwill is a southpaw spells disaster for mosley.
Martinez is a southpaw with an awkward fighting style plus he is bigger than Mosley. whether Mosley is better than Martinez or not is a non issue because Martinez's style is harder for p-will to deal with than Mosley's. Mosley would be an easier fight for williams than martinez was.
Mosley would be able to elude some of Paul's punches. His defense is a little bit underrated on here. But like someone said earlier, he is not as confident it seems like as some people are of him beating Williams.

"Ill fight anyone but Paul Williams"
Shane Mosley
I thought that was a stupid move by Mosley too. I still think Mosley would beat him though. Hell, Mosley turned Margarito down back in the day, but that didn't change the fact that he whipped his ass when he got up to fighting him. The point of my thread is that he did something stupid by not fighting Paul, because even if he lost, it might not be the total end for him if he could make the fight competitive because he would likely still have his belt back at 147 assuming this fight takes place at a weight higher than Welter. Mosley's 2010 schedule wouldn't be as tied up if he would've taken that fight.
People use a guy like Vernon Forrest as an example of why Mosley can't beat a guy like Paul Williams, but Williams doesn't fight tall most of the time.
Yeah but he is a tall brawler with a really good chin, and Mosley would just go ahead and brawl with him at the expense of taking 5 or 6 punches to land 1 or 2.
P.will fans are funny
true.....they think "SLICK SOUTHPAW" is Paul's poison!!.....BOTH Quintana and Martinez sat on his left hand and countered him silly and smothered him!!.....basic shit!!....Paul is 1D and he sets up EVERYTHING he does with his right jab......circle away from his jab and he'll look STUPID......I bet ALOT of trainers and boxers picked up on that Saturday night.....the blueprint is out on Paul......there's no doubt in my mind Nazim and Shane caught that and would use that in their game plan!!......IMO Shane would whoop him......badly!!! :boxing:

Paul Williams would beat Mosley, Mosley has always sucked against fighters like Paul. If Paul had problems getting back down to 147 though, he might get KOed.
The thing is though, I actually thought that Mosley would be up against a horrible style match up against Williams. Now I don't think that so much now. If they fought at 147-154 I would have to give the edge to Shane. I'm a big fan of both guys, but I've just got to call it how I see it. Shane will be easier to hit than Martinez was, but he has a lot more power than Martinez does, even at 154. That was evident when he KOd a 170 lb version of Mayorga no matter how bad he looked in that fight. If Margarito could hit Williams, so could Shane. Pavlik is a little bit faster than Margarito, but he doesn't punch from different angles like Margarito does, and I think that is why Paul could take him.

idk sometimes with mosley... he looked great against margarito but before that he looked like shit against mayorga... I think its an interesting fight but i still pick williams to win based on activity rate... The williams hate is just rediculous on nsb...
Mosley can not move like Martinez, but he can fight with more intensity. Even before the Williams-Martinez fight, I would have given him a chance. Williams is very one dimensional, and although Shane can be as well, he could still take Williams down.
true, ever since he beat margarito he is labeled as the greatest ever, i like shane but pwill jabs his head off and wins a ud. pbf and pac both beat him too.
Who has gave him that label?

At 147, Mosley would beat him.
Mosley isn't slick, but his speed, power, strength, and strategy would get him the W.
You don't need to be slick to hit Williams clean, Mosley's style is made to explode and hold and explode again. His overhand right would land consistently and then he would hold or move to avoid Williams flurry.
People saying Martinez is some slick grease shit doesn't know wtf they're looking at. Last night, Martinez stayed completely out of range or would smother Williams' punches until he's ready to punch just like Mosley does.
