No, pac did not duck guzman. But also no, guzman is not overrated. IMO, he is right where he should be. A two weight champion and a very good fighter but nowhere near elite. He is competing in a weight class where he relies more on his skill than his physical attributes. I'm still a fan but Funeka was certainly robbed ( my score no less than 116-112 for Funeka ). Winning rounds against an opponent with those physical dimensions speaks very well of his boxing skills.

He did duck Guzman. He was undefeated before tonight and always looked good. Pac could have fought Guzman, Nate Campbell, Juan Diaz or Joel Casamayor at 135. Instead he chose David Diaz. You argue your point well. This sounds like a similar argument that I have made on this board about Mayweather. However, that has not prevented any of the haters on this site from saying a thousand times a day that he ducked this fighter and that fighter. But, the thing with Floyd is that he had multiple fights in the division. Pac only had one at 135. If Pac would of had 2 or 3 fights at 135 and not fight Casamayor/Campbell/JMM then yes I would say he was ducking them. But, it was one fight. I don't think nobody gets on Floyd for ducking fighters at 154. Cuz he really only had one fight at 154. The thing people get on Floyd is really more at 147. Cuz he had multiple fights at 147. Gave Soto about 3 rounds. Soto was fucked mentally in that bout, he looked like the loser in around the 7th round. That's what happens when you can't hit your target. First of all, Ali Funeka is not manny, he wouldnt be towering over guzman. second of all, this was back in 2007 when guzman was 1. making weight 2. being competitive
