Tomasz Adamek says he'll be fighting former top amateur Jason Estrada in New Jersey on Feb 6/10.
Adamek's promoter Main Event tried to get Hasim Rahman, but he asked for too much money.
Estrada has never been knocked down in a fight. He won a Gold Medal for the US in the Pan American Games in 2003, but has had a weight problem in recent years.
Adamek will probably win the fight but I think it's a bad career move. He should stick to cruiserweight, instead of heavyweight. His Golota victory was good but Golota isn't a prime heavyweight, anymore. I think he'll be too small to challenge the likes of the Klitschko's and even Haye.
Q, you are thinking of Matt Godrey not Estrada :)
:lol1: My mistake...
Estrada's been on ESPN a few times too though, never thought much of him from them. But he gave Povetkin a pretty decent fight, so it could be a good fight.
Who on Earth is Jason Estrada? People complain about Adamek not getting American coverage but the guy isn't fighting anyone worth a shit. I know its only his second heavyweight fight but if you want to be on tv you best be bumping and grinding with a true challenger.
So you must have not seen WNF or FNF consistently because every time he's been on. He bored on his last fight against Hawk, was in a really good fight where he knocked out Nwodo, and a couple other fights since Cruiser is a good division for good cheap fights.
Adamek-Cunninham II and Adamek-Johnson didn't get picked up by either network, which is ****ing absurd.
Hopkins-Adamek didn't get made because Hopkins wanted to rape him on the split.
Now looking back at when HBO and all the other big networks turned down a Johnson-Adamek fight, I'm glad now that I think about it. Adamek would've massacred him. It just would've been a decent payday for Johnson.
It would have been a decent payday for Adamek too - he moved to heavyweight because he couldn't get a decent payday at cruiserweight.

lol actually he's one of the top American Heavyweights....again that's not saying much, he'll have a career as a gatekeeper like guinn or somebody like that.
That said, why does everyone always call him a 'top amateur/amateur standout'? I know he was the American Superheavyweight Champ but wtf kind of accomplishment is that? Tell me who he ever beat on the international scene.
People need to start to realize that top American amateur doesn't mean World Class anymore.
After this I would like to see Adamek fight somebody more formidable like Alexander Povetkin, Denis Boystov, Chris Arreola, or the winner of Johnson/Klitschko.
Adamek could have fought Hopkins, a smaller guy with a bigger name.
Yet he goes up yet another weight division and keeps facing these small name HW lumps.
I just don't get it.
Adamek tried to get a fight with Hopkins, as well as Johnson and Cunningham. But HBO's Ross Greenburg is not interested in having him on TV for some reason. There's little money if the fight isn't televised.
Good fight for Adamek. Sure Tomasz will be at a disadvantge against a faster fighter, he's used to that. Cunningham; faster, Briggs; faster, Dawson was the only guy who was faster that got the best of him. And yet he almost went to sleep in the 10th. Jason's chin will be his best assest here and he has the tools to win this fight, and pretty easily to. However, Estrada can and has been outworked and NO ONE EVER OUTHEARTS ADAMEK!!! So this could be a very close fight but I have to go with Tomasz here. I doubted him against Dawson,Cunningham and even Golota because of how easy he is to find, but I think I'll stick by him for Estrada.
LMAO. Why on earth would anybody wonna fight him now?
All these people asking who Jason "Big 6" Estrada is, that's why somebody would want to fight the Rock. Any shmuck knows who Hasim Rahman is, and at this point in his career, he shouldn't give Adamek too much trouble. Lower risk, bigger reward in an Adamek/Rahman fight compared to a fight with Estrada

expect a much more competitive fight than he had with golota..estrada lacks power but is highly skilled and has the style to give adamek problems.
That's what my mind started to think at first but then I remembered any time I've seen Big6 fight he always takes rounds off, and the first round he takes off Adamek's gon make that the last round. Like I said before if he stays focused he could frustrate Tomasz but I don't see it happenin, Estrada is too inconsistant.

This is a good fight for adamek!
Who will televise?
Hopefully nobody, Big Six is a disappointment. Seen him fight a few times, he has the potential to be a very smooth/slick fighter but he has no pop, no killer instinct, and is never consistant. I wanted to be a fan too, he's from Provi like 20 minutes from my city but it is what it is.
Adamek by late KO or TKO unless Estrada is on his A+ game. He's got the size and skill to keep jabbin and keep him away but he doesn't have the focus.
