In what circumstance would you root for a fighter you didnt like?

I'd probably root for Mayweather to beat Pavlik if they ever fought. But Floyd doesn't move up in weight anymore. He only fights smaller guys now.

I rooted for Calzaghe against Hopkins because of Hopkins anti-white comments. I rooted for Floyd against Zab because i dislike both but Floyd is much more tolerable and the better fighter. I rooted for Haye against Valuev for the betterment of the division. I will root for Floyd against Pac because of the casual fans overestimation of Pac, they need a reality check. Wasn't Cotto supposed to be the reality check?

If I dislike the other fighter more. If I have money on him. If it'll help set up a fight I really want to see if that guy wins. Most fighters I'm indifferent about and root for winners based on future matchups it'll help create.
