Please no spam or Gayweather type posts, only boxing related posts. I just want to know if anyone can identify any technical flaws or bad habits that Floyd Mayweather has.
Freddie Roach prides himself on finding the opponents flaws and exploiting them, so I want to know if anyone sees anything that Roach could use.
because he knows he can win a fight throwing single punches
it depends on his opponent though. it worked against jmm, a small lw who moved up to welter looking fat, weak and slow. im very confident that he cant do it against pac
he used to throw a lot of combinations before why cant he do it now? fear of getting hit? i think he could have stopped jmm if he thew combinations. if you think its a fighting style, let me tell you its shitty

Bruce Lee was always an advocate of leading with the quick lunging left hook. I think you can sometimes tell when Floyd is about to throw the right hand because he leans forward as if looking between the fighters guard with his hands down, but sometimes he can do the stance and throw so quick you wouldn't be able to adjust in the ring.
Moving up in weight and fight bigger stronger men, he didn't want to risk it.
Fear of getting hit? Lol I don't think Floyd would have boxed since age god knows how young, represented the U.S in the olympics and then turned pro had he been afraid to get hit.
so floyd is willing to take punches from small guys but afraid to risk it with the big guys. great :lol1:
floyd can be countered b/c he leaves himself wide open when he punches. He rely on his reflexes to get away. Somebody like shane will expose that.
Completely Wrong.
would you call that a flaw or a fighting style?

Floyd Mayweather does 3 things VERY VERY Wrong IMO.
But I will post only 1 of them.
1. Lungs into punches (left hook)
2. **************ts
3. ********************nes

i think the Ts wanted to realy discuss habits.... so im not gonna talk about strategies and techniques like everyone else.....
the only habit i can think of off the top of my head from floyd is
he keeps his hands really low at times but usually when he does it he is far enough from the opponent to get away with it,
also, when floyd is in offensive mode its very easy to tell and anticipate.
he changes his stance and its noticable, now will pacquiao capitalize on that and actually bother defending when floyd goes offensive? idk probably not he probably would counter floyd since he can easily take floyd's punches
one thing that I noticed in the JMM fight is that JMM started to counter Floyd with a straight right hand when Floyd threw his left hook. Now we know that JMM is a great counterpuncher and after Floyd popped him about 4-5 times with it, JMM made a nice adjustment. Also, sometimes on the the ropes when he pulls back (maybe not pull back far enough) he gets touched with the right hand, I noticed that in the JMM fight as well..someone has that gif in their sig.
That is true, but what helped Floyd most was that he was so much faster then JMM, plus JMM wasn't engaging enough. Mayweather does have bad habits but he's so quick that it's almost impossible to take advantage. Pac's best weapon will be his right jab cause Floyd keeps his left hand low most of the time followed by a straight left as well as fast hard hooks to the body. The only gameplan i think would work best is to to cut off the ring and keep floyd's back against the ropes.
Not throwing much combinations is all I can think of to be honest, and even Floyd agrees and said he will be working on that. Also you can say that he is kinda open to the body when using the shoulder roll but I haven't seen him pay for it yet so I aint sure whether I can say that.
To be honest he is such a smart and technically sound fighter that it is extremely hard to find mistakes on his part. Roach will have to work very hard to come up with a gameplan if he fights Pacquiao.
Using his elbow to push at fighter's necks and backing onto the ropes a lot.
those really aren't weaknesses. If anything the elbow thing is dirty cause it throws the opponents off for a split second and thats when he throws his right hand. And he backs into the ropes to be able to see things clearly and counter
