YOU guys don't LEARN your LESSON
PACQUAIO surprises the SHIT out of you every-time he fights !!!! TRINIDAD will be a PUNCHING bag in the LATE rounds...
Ok who wins Tito-Cotto? Who wins Tito-Oscar? That version that Pac fought who wins? No nuthugging just who wins.
Tito KHTFO, simple as that!!
No outcome is simple in boxing anymore. Pacquiao has more than proved that time and time again. To say, especially now, that Trinidad would KHTFO is extremely ignorant.
Granted, in the past I've also said the same thing in jest, but now it's pretty obvious that nothing is a joke when it comes to Pacquiao. He means serious business.
And how do u know this?? trinidads chicken legs would go spaghetti when pac starts to land..
And Trinidad wasn't exactly Mr. Invicible himself over time - De La Hoya outboxed him, Vargas had him in a lot of trouble, and Hopkins just flat-out sonned him.
Just don't know anymore
After last weekend, I don't think anybody knows anything anymore! The world stopped when Cotto was stopped, again. :shk1:
A cold Tito? Come on man, your making excuses now...
Look, I respect Tito, he was a very good champion and had incredible power. Like I said though, when did you ever see Oscar hurt like Tito?
It's tough to go through a career like Oscar had and not suffer a loss or get hurt. Oscar just wouldn't get touched, I mean, think about the last time you would see Oscar cut or hurt? It never happened.....
Tito just didn't have great boxing skills, he was a good boxer, just not great like you are making him sound to be. He was lucky to have the power he had because had he not had that power, he would have lost a lot of fights he won, including the one vs Vargas.
Oscar got dropped early in his career also against nobodies what are you talking about? Tito was never hurt as a WW he suffered flash knockdowns but never hurt. There is no excuses. If you think suffering flash knockdowns is getting hurt. Than Oscar was hurt at LW and WW... Oscar is not better than Tito.
Oscar was done I agree. Prime Oscar would not have been hurt as bad. But being drained doesn't magically put your boxing skill down a few notches. Oscar couldn't deal with the movement in the middle of the ring nor could he deal with the southpaw. Hell he couldn't hit Mayweather in the middle of the ring either, but FMJ likes to lie on the ropes, which made the fight competitive.
Prime Oscar could barely deal with an older Whitaker.
The reason I ask this question is because if you watched the fight closely. You will see that Cotto was landing a very nice jab early on. Then about the 3rd round or so, Cotto was being countered with a lead right hook when he was throwing that jb. Which was followed by a straight left that was doing the damage.
Once you start getting countered, it's hard to keep throwing the same shot over and over because you don't want to get hit.
Same thing happened with DLH. People ask why didn't DLH keep snapping the jab out, that was because he was being countered by Mayweather and TOOK THAT AWAY FROM HIM.
Very astute. What I saw in round two was a perfectly timed left hand lead that just landed at will every time Cotto pushed that jab out. As soon as the jab was gone, he went to work with combinations and only had the left hook counter to worry about. Later on you see him slip the jab with head movement, counter it with right hooks like you said, even parying it and landing his own jab right after. Truly marvelous stuff.
Tito is about as one dimensional as they come. He doesn't hit back when he's getting hit and believe me Pac would land first. Pac would spin him like a top and he'd never land that left hook.
This was already done and trinidad won by land slide. just because Manny beat a shot Cotto they think he can beat any Welter weight, but as soon as many fights some more welterweights he will become shot himself and you'll see he can take one punch and continue on strong. Manny had it easy on his last three fights, while Cotto had two out of three hard battles. It was fighting those battles whay hurt Cotto, the Clottey fight and the Margarito fight that counts for two. But not even a Mayweather wil be as dangerous for manny as fighting a Margarito, Clottey or Mosley. Those are the hard hitting fighters that will make you a shot fight. Margarito cause of the plaster.
:bottle: Excuses don't describe this post.....
Now cotto was shot.....wow.

At when WW when did you see Tito hurt. Campas did not stun Tito he dropped a cold Tito. Tito was never ever hurt at 147. Every time he got knockdown it flash knockdowns. Tito use to ust the jab as a tremendous weapon, he use to move give angles, go to the body, kept a high guard. But, when Tito fell in love with his power. He stopped using his skills and just wanted to blow everybody away.

also all those flash knockdowns just verifies my thoughts on Tito's poor balance and footwork. 9 times out of 10 when a boxer is getting dropped and not hurt it is due to bad balance. JMM is also a great example of this.
Manny will have trinidad off balance all night and I dont see trinidad planting enought throughout the fight to land his viscous right hand. That is just my opinion though.
Wow, a person with some unbiased opinion. I see the same thing, I mean Manny's speed and foot movement is just incredible.
That version of Oscar was done, finished.
Again, Oscar had no business fighting Manny at that stage. He thought size and strength could be the difference but he was old and weight drained.
Im try to stay as unbiased as I can. Also the question I have with tito is his footwork. I think Manny turns Trinidad very easy. Tito seemed very stiff and upright as a fighter. I really have a hard time seeing Trinidad deal with constantly moving from side to side to catch manny.
Just look at how cotto looked when manny moved to his right. Cotto was so off balanced but manny didnt capitilize. Cotto has better footwork than tito so I know tito would be so off balance all night it would be comical. A off balanced trinidad gets tagged all night
No disrespect man but Tito was an avg boxer even at his peak. I mean he wasn't bad, he just didn't have the skill Oscar had, or any of the other good natural boxers of the time.
Remember, he got hit a lot. He was knocked down a lot and hurt a lot. When have you ever seen Oscar get hurt to the chin? Even in the Quartey fight, Oscar wasn't really hurt, he was stunned and knocked down but never in trouble.
Vargas hurt Tito, Campas stunned him. There were much lesser fighters that were able to touch Tito consistently, Manny would have no problem hitting him.

I don't know if Cotto had more skills. People forget how skillfull Tito was before he fell in love with his power. That is why I said the Tito from 1992-1995 beats Pac. That Tito was not easy to beat at all.

No way, seriously let's be real here for a second.
Tito wasn't a very skilled boxer, not enough to deal with the speed and awkwardness of Manny. In order to beat Manny IMO, I think you need to be a very, very skilled boxer like a JMM.
Oscar was that but bigger and much stronger than JMM. Same reason I think Mayweather beats Manny as well.
Styles is what you need to look at. I just don't see Tito's style compatible to Manny's, I see Oscar having a much better chance.
Oh no style makes fights and Oscar had problems with fast southpaws. And, Oscar had stamina issues. After the 8 rounds Pac would dominate him and probably even stop him.
I see on here now that Tito skills were very underrated.
