im a very unbiased fan on boxing and i love every fighter that steps into the ring other than margacheato (he ruined one of my most favorite fighters).
but im getting to the point where im sick of talking about boxing on boxingscene. i feel like all this is a bitch fest anymore.. all we do is try to defend our favprite fighter...
just wanted to throw this out there because i just wanna have a normal discussion about one of my favs
The thing I question most, when I see so many fighters getting so much hate, is this ; who the hell do these "haters" actually enjoy, then?
Is it really a simple case of "us against them" for whichever fighter you like (Floyd fans vs. Manny fans, Margarito fans vs. Cotto fans, Hopkins fans vs. Calzaghe fans, etc, etc, etc....)? Or is there something else to it? Are these guys just so generally unimpressed by these guys performances that they literally feel the need to degrade them?
Regardless of if it's the former, or the latter ; they should seriously consider following another sport.
What the hell is the point in watching a sport (especially one as amazing and unpredictable as this one) if you cannot even take simple enjoyment from it without having to talk shit about somebody?
It's mind boggling, man.
I think the thing i hate the most is grown men, a couple of them posting in this thread, who fall into the schoolyard mentality you are talking about. Im talking guys with kids. I hate when people mask their ignorance by riding the status quo.
People mask their ignorance by saying something general that everyone agrees with and then follow it up with absolute inexcusable ignorance. I have alot of people on my ignore list because of this. I learned from WMUTE that its just not worth it to read the posts of people who are just out to either suck the dikk of a fighter or discredit another for the sake of it.
u r ****in nuts if u think i just now became a fan....this sport has been my left nut for 28 years
lol, you act like you just discovered it 28 days ago.
I've contributed to plenty of good discussions here.
at some point, you realize there is just no control and you have to learn how to roll with it.
You can't change what the person on the other side of the net is going to say, so you have to learn to either, ignore it and move on, as many of us have at some point,
or,
you just say **** it and join into the madness.
I've been feeling like saying "**** it" lately and just joining in.
If you want to get a serious discussion about the sport of boxing,
leave the business element out of it.
It ****s everything up.
We understand there is a business element to sports, we get that.
But we don't base an athletes achievements or accolades on anyones paycheck.
We look to results in the ring, court, field, whatever.
But never, until I joined boxing forums, did I ever encounter such talk about sales, and projections, draws, etc etc.
Talking money is not important to what goes on in the ring. Its mainly a convenient excuse to explain why fighter A shouldn't fight fighter B.
I've seen so many great fights just in these last 5 years that worrying about how much they make is the last thing on my mind.
Money is the last thing on any sports fans mind when they are watching the event of their dreams.
You might want to try it. I know you're quite new to the sport, but please, if you'd like to be a contributing member,
learn about past greats and don't just ride Floyds cock. Yes, they fought for money as well, and there was some shady dealings going on behind closed doors,
but for the most part, the money aspect was left behind those closed doors and big time, memorable fights still got made,
just like today.
enjoy the sport for what goes on in the ring, don't worry about other shit you can't control.
Yea, I know I can be a dick, but only to offset the clowns who come through.
If I've insulted you in the past, I apologize, but keep that money talk in a banking section.
This is boxing not a Donald Trump show.

search and destroy...
no poster is safe with these assassins..
Funny thing about that,
Pullcounter,
used to be one of thee absolute worst Floyd stans. I'm talking almost Horus level. Boof even.
Yea, Pullcounter.
wht do u think is going through floyds head now??
he is gonna dance circles around pacturd... im so so so excited for this fight
It should be interesting, not really worried about what Floyd thinks unless it is related to how he opperates in a boxing ring.
Although I am fairly sure he is thinking about large bags with dollar signs on them full of cash.
before I ever came here that was how I felt about the sport, to me a good fight is one that raise the stock of both men no matter who wins or looses.
My one mistake in being here is being a fan of Floyd it takes up so much of my time here that discussing other stuff becomes hard, although not much gets discussed except certain big fights any fights besides those fights (or guys) almost never gets any real discussion going. I do wish people would disucss the actualy sport more instead of what goes on now, but since I have been here this is what it has been like, sometimes it is alright to kill a night going back and forth with someone who will never see eye to eye with you but that shit gets repetitive.
It should be fun as a fan of Mayweather though if things play out as expected atleast until the fight.

If you're expecting actual mature discussion about boxing, then you're in the wrong place.
People here are stuck in their homosexual man crushes on fighters.
Then again, it can be amusing at times.

It comes with every sport. Basketball, baseball, world football, they all get pretty crazy. "Hardcore" fans shank or kill each other. I don't mind the certain trash talk, just not trolling. Oh, and bandwagoners suck.
