The first 4-5 rounds of this fight were phenomenal.
I mean, as good as we thought this fight could have been, the first half lived up to that and then some. Cotto just couldn't sustain that pace.
But how about we appreciate just how good the first half of the fight was?
People were predicting a high speed chess match....that's EXACTLY what the first half was.
People forget Cotto won the first round and was winning round 3 and 4 but he got KD. Then he started moving back insted of bringing pressure to Pacquiao or boxing in the midle of the ring. and pacquiao's face did not look good after the fight so Cotto did some damage but mentaly Cotto is not the same guy he was back in 06-07.
excuse #2. LOL. Dont be bother on me guy i'm just counting.
Wow... weren't you the one saying Cotto should retire if he lost to a 106 pounder? I wasn't making any idiotic claims like that jackass, I said either man could win and but I had Cotto by late KO. If anything you made yourself look dumber than I ever and especially posting this, AGAIN after you're the one who made that retarded ass statement you obviously had more faith in Cotto than I did.
BWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
STUPID COTTO STAN!!! I TOLD YOUR BITCH ASS THAT IF THE FIGHT GOES PAST 6 ROUNDS COTTO WILL BE FUKKED UP!!!
UGH UGH UGH IN YOUR VAG BITCH!!!!
As for Cotto being ruined mentally, I say that because he is. After that second knockdown it completely turned into the Marg fight. If you watch Cotto in the Judah, Torres and Corely fights each time he was hurt he kept coming forward no retreat and did what was working for him. He was winning all but the 2nd round until the 2nd knockdown and once he felt hurt he went into survival mode which is exactly what happened with Marg. I'm not saying Marg did it legally, I hate Margarito more than ever now for ruining what could have been a great great career.
COTTO WASN'T MENTALLY RUINED!!!!! COTTO JUST MET LAST NIGHT A REAL TOP 10 ATG BOXER...
ARGH!!! SKEET! SKEET! SKEET! SKEET! SKEET!
ALL ON YOUR MUTHAFUKKIN FACE BITCH!!!!
If Cotto can face Marg and beat him and get whatever he lost in that fight back, it will be great.
cotto can beat marg w/ a few adjustment
I'll never turn my back on Cotto the guy is a warrior,
cotto ain't no warrior... he was running like a bitch from a former 106 lber and he wanted to quit in the 11th!!!!
but he needs to take a solid year off restructure his corner
I've been telling you cotto stans that cotto needs a real trainer for a long as fukkin time.... BWAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! EAT DOGSHIT COTTO STANS!!!!
and get his head right with a defeat over Marg.
marg didn't destroy cotto last night... a real top 10 ATG fighter did!!!! margo never knockdown cotto once... PAC HAD HIM DOWN 2X!!!! suck on it cotto bitches!!!!!
Until then I just don't see him overcoming difficult situations like he used to. As someone stated its always easier to quit the second time,
THAT WAS ME MUTHA FUKKA!!!! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!!
and while I agree with what Cotto did in the Marg fight by taking the knee, it doesn't mean it didn't come with any after affects.
I'VE BEEN TELLING YOU COTTO STANS FOREVER!!! COTTO HAS NEVER BEEN INVINCIBLE!!!!
even at 140 lbs he was vulnerable!!! believe it!!! there is no pre-margo cotto or a post-margo cotto!!! there is only 1 cotto... the quitter who fades late!!!!
BWHAHAHHAAHHAAHHA!!!!
I know I'm going overboard w/ the gloating, but you cotto stans must understand that after so many months of bullshitting and whining you deserve this right???
BWHAHAHAH!!! NEXT TIME DON'T CRY OR TALK SO MUCH BULLSHIT BITCHES!!!!
It was, but Cotto was ruined mentally by Margarito he lost his come forward through everything approach. He had that fight up till the 2nd knockdown he only lost the 2nd round in my opinion except for the knockdowns. But Marg, as a lot of people said, took something from Cotto and after the way he looked against Manny I'm not sure if he'll ever get it back. There has to be a Marg/Cotto rematch and Cotto's going to have get what he lost back in that fight, if that's even possible.
hahaha excuses #1 on this thread. and counting.
Yeah there was some terrific action in the first act of that fight. Those knockdowns were killers for Cotto...the first for confidence and the second because it actually hurt Cotto badly.
Some of the exchanges early on were awesome. Cotto's jab was working great and his counters were on. Pacquiao is just so fast with the hands and if 1, 2, or 3 don't get ya....4 and 5 certainly will. Both guys looked explosive, but after the second KD (sick shot btw) Cotto just couldn't hang with him anymore.
Pacquiao was the better man and that's all that needs to be said. The guy is a virtuoso...a whirlwind.
Quoted for the man speaking the truth.

I dont want to use Margo, because in the Clottey fight he was pressing forward...
I think Manny's Speed & Power shell shocked him:thinkerg:
It did, without a doubt and I think Cotto just shelled up ESPECIALLY after that 2nd knockdown. Cotto looked lost and intimidated.
shell mode was a really dopey idea by the pacman, he's killing brain cells for nuthin, numbin your head is'nt a good thing
He was imitating Clottley. I believe one of the weaknesses he saw in Miguel was him losing confidence as he couldn't hurt clottey. I think Pac wanted to do the same thing to him, which I think worked.
I wouldn't say outboxed at all. Landed hard jabs every now and then, and would unload when manny would let him hit him ( I had no idea why manny wanted to do this, he could have easily danced away).
Because it takes away from the other fighter to know he can't easily hurt his opponent... Also Manny wanted to taste Cotto's power so he felt more comfortable in there.
And now do you wanna debate me on the fact that I and a lot of other people think that Cotto's right cross is not great?
What does his right cross have to do with anything O.o
For a second i thought TD said Overrated i was about to god mad!!!!!!! lol
Those 5 rounds were fking amazing!
Best fight I've seen in a while....well up until 6th....i felt for cotto...
no im saying..NOW...Margo with or without wraps beats Cotto...
I agree he was effective with the jab early (note to Mayweather).....
Manny had no wraps and made Cotto look like he did vs Margarito:bigeyes:
Exactly why I said Cotto took something from Marg in that fight. Cotto after getting hurt, ran for survival whereas before the Marg fight he would have been like bitch, NOW its on.
If you had a brain you'd notice that's not what I'm doing at all. Pac put a beating on Cotto and I'm not taking anything away from him. He damn near KO'd Cotto, he took Cotto's punches far better than I thought he would, his Clottey like defense surprised the hell out of me. I've seen him grow into a complete fighter and cotto didn't lose that fight, he got BEAT period. What I'm saying is after the knockdown an old Cotto wouldn't have given up all that ground. I'm not saying he would have won, because Manny obviously showed his skills in that fight.

Typical fan boy post referring to the Margarito fight and in turn marginalizing Pac's credit for beating him.

Margarito with no wraps destroys Cotto
terrible match up....
I dont know where Cotto goes from here
Maybe now, but its apparent you didn't watch that fight. The wraps whether or did or didn't happen leave too many questions left unanswered. Cotto was looking like Floyd in the first 6 rounds of that fight, countering, slipping, dodging just excellent boxing skills but then it just disappeared and the rest is history. The problem is that there is a question about wraps in that fight, maybe you're right Cotto gets worked without wraps, but we'll never know. Saying shit like that is just stupid because you have no idea because the first half of the fight was just as one sided as the last half.
After re-watching the fight I think Cotto got way too careless in the 4th rd and it ended up biting him in the ass. He seemed to be executing his gameplan pretty well and had pac on the ropes and hit him with some solid shots that were bothering pac and Cotto looked to be gaining steam. It looked like Cotto thought he might be able to get pac in trouble and he started winging like a wild man then BANG, got caught with the punch that put him down and left him glassy eyed. Dude could have had a chance to wear Manny down and potentially stop him late if he had not fought so carelessly after having success the 1st 3 rds doing what he was doing. It looked like he got confident and then got too aggressive rather than keeping it steady and collected. Too bad...

Cotto was seriously messed up after the 2nd KD. He was saved by the bell.
Judah never hurt him that bad. He rocked him, didnt put him down.
Like i said before, he was hurt because he was being too aggresive. So what was left to do but box and move? Nothing was working for him. He hit Pac with his best body shots, his left hook, nothing hurt Pac.
I dont agree it had anything to do with the Marg fight.
EAT IT BITCH!!! SUCK IT!!! SWALLOW IT!!! YOU TALK SO MUCH BULLSHIT!!!! RIGHT IN YOUR MUTHAFUKKIN VAGINA!!!!! BWAHAHAHAH!!!!!
