Scenario entering a round 9 of a Championship fight: Floyd is obviously behind on the score cards he needs to win three consecutive 10-8 rounds to even think of making the fight close against Manny Pacquaio. What does he do? Does he take the fight to Manny and attempt to win the fight? Or does he just keep running so he can be sure to finish the fight on his feet?
I'm interested in people's honest opinion in regards to the outcome of this scenario.

I dunno. I don't trust his heart no more. I gave up on dude a while ago.
Floyd is unwilling to risk taking any damage whatsoever in a fight. He's proven his heart in the Castillo and Genaro Hernandez fights, fighting through injuries and especially Castillo gutting out a close (disputed) win. Down 4 points going into the 10th though, Floyd would not being willing to risk getting hit to win.
i don't understand your post...you say that he has heart...but he isn't willing to be hit?

While I don't see this situation arising (I think Mayweather is capable of beating Pacquiao, despite being a bigger Pacquiao fan - although I certainly wouldn't rule out a Pac victory), here's what I think would happen.
Mayweather wouldn't run. Despite the fact that he isn't a fierce finisher or a super aggressive offensive boxer, the man trains like an absolute animal and loves winning just as much as he loves his money. He is also the most intelligent ring technician in the game today and even if he is losing the fight at that point, you can bet that he has made note of Pacquiao's defensive leaks and has thought about how to exploit them. Taken out of his comfort zone, he would be more willing to fight in a tight proximity as well as right up in the pocket, perhaps trading punches (hooks, in particular) with hopes of really catching Manny good after/during a missed punch to floor him. His hand speed is brilliant as well as his accuracy so it would be an absolute treat to see him and Manny trading. It is rare that he has had to take risks in order to win, but he has opened up and exchanged in the past, with the N'Dou fight coming to mind.
So no, I don't think he quits, and I don't think he runs. He goes for the win and tries to maintain his unbeaten status - whether or not he is the type of fighter (with regard to physical attributes) who is ABLE to floor Pacquiao 3 times in 3 rounds is what would likely keep him from winning in this situation. It wouldn't be a lack of will to win.
Thanks to the people that answered this already. I want real boxing fans to answer this question. No flamos. If you flame I will concede the fact that you think Floyd would quit on his stool.
This scenario is so unrealistic ......gtfoh.
So Manny knocks down a guy whos never been knocked down...3 times in 3 str8 rounds.........
I stopped there....
Yeah I didn't say that. I helps if you actually read the question instead of putting up whatever you just put up. I never said Floyd has been down anywhere in that scenario.
Who knows has Mayweather even been in that kind of situation where he has been beaten up physically mental and having to dig deep and find a way to win when the odds are not going hes way?
You could argue Castillo but he wasn't that far behind with him. I just want to see what people think he would do in this type of situation. It actually could happen if he fight's Pac. What do you think he would do?
