So Paul Williams is the only mega fight that Mosley can get

This post didn't really address anything that I mentioned. Mosley took less money to fight Berto than he would've gotten to fight Paul Williams. But it's not a duck because Mosley is a warrior. And to get it out there, I'm not a Floyd fan at all. I'd just rather see someone in their prime get a shot at Floyd and someone that is not rusty like Mosley probably is right now from bitching and complaining about not getting a fight. It took Berto a long ass time to finally man up and fight Mosley when Paul Williams would've fought him at the drop of a hat. And now that Mosley bitched about not getting a fight with a big name instead of manning up and fighting Paul Williams earlier this year, he probably would've gotten a big money fight with one of the other guys early in 2010. But instead he's not ahead of the game and all the other fighters are gonna be tied up negotiating with each other while Mosley fights this unproven prospect. Basically what I'm saying is Mosley could've fought Paul Williams in October like Pavlik was supposed to do, and get that out of the way and his chances of getting another fight he wanted would've been a lot better. And just because he may have lost doesn't mean that would've wiped him off the map. He would just have to make the fight competitive like he did with Cotto. If it had to take place at 154, Mosley could've made the weight because he's done it before. I'm not going to look back through the threads but I know your views ice and you and I have very similar feeling about boxing and this situation. I agree with the above post.

is berto really an unproven prospect if his last six fights have been for some kind of belt and he's beaten two legit belt holders his past two fights? He may not be elite yet but he's a long way from prospect which is why mosley's fighting him Winning a vacant belt from some bum and beating Collazo in a controversial fight is not impressive to me. I doubt Mosley is really scared of Williams. Plus Williams is not that hard to hit. It's just he throws a lot of punches. To be honest I can actually see this fight happening in the future. Williams also can be beat. Carlos Quintana proved that. I know some say it was a fluke. But I don't see how getting a boxing lesson for 12 rounds is a fluke. So with the right gameplan, Mosley has a chance.

For whatever reason Mosely is last in line for a big money fight with Pac/Cotto/Mayweather, by the time he get in the ring with one of the big three he might be 40 yrs old. Kinda strange how a WW belt holder has to chase people for fights.

actually mosley is smart for fighting berto. That is 2 of the 4 major belts he would hold. He is taking a chance, so he can play the whole "fight shane, so you can unify titles" role. And this goes out to any guy who wants big fights and feels he is avoided...the quickest way to get a megafight is to collect more belts. If Shane would have taken Joshua Clottey and Andre Berto last year he would have had the WBA, WBC and IBF belts, making him the man at 147. All roads would have lead to him, because he would be the clear champ and put a ton of pressure on guys like Cotto, Pacquiao and Floyd to fight him.
