who fights better going backwards? Pac or Cotto?

Pacquiao is just better at everything. He was fighting Hatton on the backfoot and his right hook was doing the job. ya ur right ... i always just thought of that fight as pac turning hatton but he did fight going back as well ... and he did it very well. i had it in my head that if cotto forces pac to fight going back it could be a big advantage but that theory has kinda gone bust ....

LMAO at those who say Pacquiao, it's one of the main reasons why Pacquiao will lose to Cotto; he can't fight going backwards. Cotto can do it pretty well.

like most i expect manny to be using angles and turning etc. was just wonder how he would do going backwards if miguel forces him to do so. i think its obvious cotto is most effective going forward, but can do good work going backwards ... i think he is rightfully winning this poll ...

When has Cotto been good moving backwards? LOL He didn't look good vs Clottey going backwards. He didn't look good vs Marg going backwards. The fights he has looked good in were the ones where he was playing the bully. Juda, Mosley, Malinaggi etc. I'm not saying that Cotto is a complete fumbling idiot going backwards but that's not his strong point. He is best when moving straight forward, bullying you and taking your body out. That's what Cotto does best..... As far as Manny, I can't say because I have never seen him go backwards except when JMM was knocking his block off forcing him to go backwards but that was more of JMM's counter punching than anything esle. Actually Cotto does great going backwards. You would have to see all of his fights to appreciate this. He actually KO'd a few of his opponents fighting off the backfoot.

Neither of them can fight going backwards. Both are straight forward fighters who excel when they are playing the role of the bully. any fight u guys can think of that manny has fought going backwards for any real stretch of time? i cant really think of one ... when i think of manny i think of his forward mov'mt lateral mov'mt and footwork but not going backwards .... All I can think of off the top of my head is Morales who he knocked down going backwards while being chased along the ropes. I think it was the second fight? Cotto is much better at it. I suggest people not only watch Mosley/Clottey or Margarito fights but some of his early fights against Abdulaev and John Brown. He beat those two by boxing moving back and throwing counter shots all fight. Good examples. He fought Abdullaev the same way in the Olympics. I even have footage of him sparring Vince Phillips, and Cotto is fighting backwards the entire session. Here's a few more fights where Cotto is fighting backwards. vs. Ubaldo Hernandez, Ceballos, Bazan.

I have never seen many won a fight fighting backwards.... or at least I dont remember.. hes a coming forward & side to side angles fighters..
