Remember the beating Diaz took at the hands of Manny Pacquiao and the humiliation that he received? I just think after the DLH fight he felt much better and by the Hatton's fight he felt proud of himself but still after the Cotto fight I think he will be standing even higher as Pacquiao best opposition since his entrance in the higher weight classess.
And lastest Diaz's quote will be... "where I bought they still sell"
The boxing fan's ultimate dream. It's hard enough to get one champ per division per sanctioning body. Could you imagine trying to condense it all?
Someone needs to pull a Dana White, create their own organization.
people can't avoid each other. there's only 1 belt. you wouldn't be able to claim to be the best in that division without being the champ.
oscar needs to buy up the wbo , wbc , ibf and wba.
though people will say it'll be biased for gbp fighters. don't really care.
they still have to fight the guys in the top 10.
one org. that would solve so many problems.......

promotion.
oscar claims the 6 division thing. (was sturm really the champ at 160? did he really beat sturm. :lol1:)
if he can claim it so can pac's people and floyd's people.
I guess so. God this sport sucks sometimes.
So if that's the case, which it is. Why do these whole "X number of divisions" claims carry any weight? If we don't put weight into a guy like David Diaz winning a title, why do people put weight on these silly division claims?

I'm not saying that either. It's just, to me hearing either Floyd or Pac talk about X amount of divisions is like nails on a chalkboard.
They're not beating the best in the division, they're not defending anything. Just snatching titles and moving.
Everything Pac did under 135 is perfectly legitimate and deserved.
floyd earned his #1 ranking at 130 , 135 and 147. (maybe 154 as well if you considered oscar the top guy there)
pacquiao earned his #1 ranking at 112 , 126 , 130 and 140.
people can talk crap about not cleaning up a division (like it's so easy) but as long as you fight 1. the recognized champ or 2. win a fight with you and your opponent as the recognized #1 and #2 in the division , i think you can be the claimed champ in that division.
floyd won the matchup of #1 and #2 at 130 with corrales , he beat the recognized champ at 135 in castillo , he beat the lineal champ at 147 in baldomir.
pacquiao beat the recognized #1 guy in sasakul at 112 , the same with barrera at 126 , he won the #1 vs. #2 matchup with jmm at 130 and he beat the recognized champ at 140 in hatton.
no one really cleans out a division unless you spend years and years there like hopkins at 160 or kostya at 140. guys who move up so many divisions like floyd and pac can't do it. they can only fight a certain number of time in some divisions.
no one ever claimed manny was #1 at 135.
marquez earned that title.

Fair enough. I never blamed Pac for taking the Hatton or DLH fights and I do believe he would've handled Casamayor and Campbell. My only point is both Floyd and Pacquiao when all is said and done, will claim dominance over X amount of divisions, when in actuality they have no business saying it.
Pac's win over Diaz = Floyd's win over Gatti
therefore
Pac's claim to lightweight supremecy = Floyd's claim to JWW supremecy
They both mean nothing, but get tallied as another division under their belts.

marquez earned that title.
the moving up wasn't planned though.
blame oscar , floyd and hatton.
who knows what pacquiao would have done at 135 if it wasn't for them.
maybe casa. maybe not. maybe juan or nate. maybe not. who knows?
they planned for pac to move to 135. diaz was suppose to be just a tuneup. they didn't plan on moving up from 135 so quickly.
problem is floyd pulled out of the oscar fight. oscar needed a new opponent.
oscar asked ricky but ricky wanted a tuneup first. oscar ended up fighting pacquiao and planned on oscar-ricky afterwards. when pacquiao won that through that out the window and pac ended up fighting ricky instead.

Of course he planned it.
The point is that Pacquiao beat the weakest titlist at 135 and then moved up.

Campbell who? The David Diaz fight was already signed when Campbell won against Juan Diaz. Casamayor is a grandad.
I guess Arum and Pac didn't want any part in a grandad or Campbell then.
Pac has done nothing at 135.
arum planned diaz-pacquiao BEFORE pac-jmm 2.
arum wanted to have pac fight for diaz's belt at 135 like morales did.
Of course he planned it.

know your timelines. those dudes were in a fight or just finished a fight when pac-diaz was made. there was no one aside from valero, who couldnt fight in the US.
What are you talking about? Casamayor and Campbell both fought in March of that year, Pac-Diaz was in June. Plenty of time. Pac fought Marquez in March so they all had fights in March of 2008. But instead of taking on Casamayor or Campbell, he takes on David Diaz, who should've lost to Morales, who at the time he faced Diaz was coming off of 4 losses in his last 5. Meanwhile, Marquez fights Casamayor to actually do something meaningful at 135.
Know your timelines before you tell me to know mine.

David Diaz sucked. Any of the other names at lightweight would've been better. And yes, Campbell was a better name. That's not even debatable. A win over Morales when Diaz beat him means nothing, and he didn't even beat Morales IMO.
David Diaz was the worst possible titlist. Casamayor or Campbell would've been much better options.
I agree with you on Casamayor. He would've been a much better opponent.

He wouldn't have been able to fight Juan Diaz, anyways. Pacquiao fought Marquez at SFW, only one week after Diaz lost his titles to Nate Campbell.
Do you really think that Campbell was a better name than David Diaz? Especially, after Diaz came off a win over Morales?

David Diaz got stopped by Kendall Holt and had trouble against a shot to shit Jesus Chavez, who wasn't even something special in his prime.
Cotto beat Mosley, Judah, Quintana, Clottey and Malignaggi.
End of thread./
Coulda, shoulda, woulda. You Pac fans are starting to remind me of Mayweather.
Pac moved to lightweight, beat the weakest titlist, and moved up. FACT
