The fight didn't sell enough tickets so we got bumped up to $100 tickets. This is great for me, bad for Chad Dawson and the city of Hartford. During the fight, people booed even though Dawson was dominating the entire time. I know he's not the most exciting fighter, but this was a terrible display of a an amateur crowd. They would've been better suited to put this at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun, the casinos.
Anyways, when I saw the fight live, I had it much closer, like the 2 judges, 115-113, but it must've been because of the negative crowd. After watching on HBO it was amazing how much I didn't take in Chad's dominance in the fight the first time.
Unfortunately for me, the poor performance of this fight in terms of ticket sales probably means I won't get to see anymore good boxing 10 minutes away from my house. Thanks a lot Connecticut. All you boxing fans from Connecticut who see this and didn't go to this fight should be ashamed. You have a vested interest in attending fights in your area and you made a terrible showing.
So anyways, Chad Dawson is one hell of a fighter and he'll be here for a while, so get used to it. :boxing:
Have you got any pics from last night?
No, sorry buddy. My camera shitted out after like 2 pictures.
I did get one pic of Angulo right before he KOed Yorgey, but I'm too lazy to put up one picture.

Did you go to the show at Mohegan on Halloween? There were many moments when the whole crowd was just absolutely quiet during the fights I never seen anything like it.
Another thread full of monkeys, clowns, and novices. :nonono:
There are plenty of sites dedicated to ur fav fighter, mma, toughman comp, etc.... This is a boxing site where real BOXING FANS discuss and appreciate the BOXERS. You all are incapable of appreciating the subtle nuances that take place in the ring. Its cool though, come 15 Nov half of u clowns will be hiding in sheer shame and anger and confusion and sorrow. While the rest dissect what ur god did wrong and what the other fighter did right.
Dawson gets hit way too much to consider him one of the best in the world. His fights are way closer than they should be if he's as good as they make him out to be. I give him props for rematching Johnson though. He should have done it last year (like Mayweather did with Castillo when their first fight was close), but he waited until he had no other options.
Dawson fought the right fight to beat Johnson. He would of been a fool had he went at Johnson and tried to trade with him or tried to knock him out.
I was impressed with Dawson on how easily he beat Johnson the second time considering how much trouble Johnson caused him in the first fight.
Cleverly is a good prospect but he is unproven past the British domestic scene. He shouldn't be considered as a possible opponent for Dawson.
He should be focusing on fighting Pascal or Cloud.
BTW, Dawson weighed 191 last night. He'd shed a lot of weight to make 168.
Of the three guys you mentioned in over 136 fights, they've in total been stopped ONCE, and that was a tko in 1997 for Johnson against BHop.
The standard is pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
Dawson won easy and looked good doing it.
I just don't understand it, to me that was a beautiful display that Dawson put on. He was landing power punches consistenly, dudes who do not want to go are very hard to take out also Glen Johnson is crazy tough.
The lack of respect I see toward a kind/humble Johnson is kind of stunning considering what people have told me about various other fighters.
I don't want anything from him. He is what he is, and nothing is gonna change that. Just stop saying that he beats everything that walks. People say that he'd automatically win the super six when I don't know if that is true or not. Abraham and Kessler have way more power than he does, and he would have to box a perfect fight to beat those guys. And his fans need to quit justifying not him not fighting guys in his own age category. There are plenty of good Lightheavyweights like Tavoris Cloud and Nathan Cleverly.
Again, just ridiculous.
He fought Johnson. Than he fought Tarver, the two best LHW's available for him to fight. Than TARVER EXERCISED A REMATCH CLAUSE, so he had no choice but to fight Tarver again.
All the while, people were calling him a bitch for not fighting Johnson again, meanwhile making themselves look stupid cause they didn't understand that it wasn't Dawson that wanted to fight Tarver again.
THEN he gives the people what they want, gives up a belt and fights Johnson. And people are still bitching.
I don't believe he will have any problem fighting Pascal and Cloud. He's 27 and just took care of some serious business, give him some time.
And yes, he would be the immediate favorite in the Super Six. He would shut Abraham out if Abe didn't catch him with something big, and I doubt he would.
Exactly. Those are guys that are just hard ass dudes. No one has ever stopped them(I believe Johnson's corner ended it), and no one has ever looked good against them.
Dawson gets held to an absurd standard, I don't understand what people want from him.

No one knocks out Glen Johnson or Antonio Tarver, so why expect that (like Adamek is an easy cat to dispose of). Dawson has 17 knock out in 29 fights that is 58% far from the worst knock out percentage out there, he looked to hit Johnson with all kinds of very nice shots that would have crumpled lesser men.
He put on a display, to me it was very impressive the most impressive showing of his career. I really don't understand the negativity, it is what it is I guess.
me either, neither the valuev/haye fight.
anything above 154 i honestly don't pay attention to, nor do i give a crap :good:.
Me too, I dont watch anything from 154 upward unless its a special fight like Pavlik etc.
I thought Dawson did dominate this time out. He just never KO's anyone and people expect a KO or 2 at some point, especially when he is fighting older guys. I guess he is fighting the guys that are available for him to fight.
Meh, sounds like some of you need to stop watching the sport, and take up WWE. Anyway's, as dans said, Dawson is going to be the man at 175 for quite some time, whether some of you like it or not.
Kellermain nailed it when he said if Ricky Hatton can bring fans from England to the U.S then Dawson be able to bring his fans from New Haven to Hartford.
I haven't seen the fight yet....to be honest.....I'm not really lookin' forward to seein' it either!! :lol1:

Dawson fights for himself not the fans, he doesn't realize the fans are the ones responsible for his paychecks. And of course the crowd was booing, Dawson literally ran at times in the fight like a bitch.
Agreed......
Funny how everyone keeps calling for smart boxers to take more chances, yet as soon as they get caught taking chances, trying to make fans happy those same sh*t eating fans call them bums, loser, etc.
