Although his Nov. 8 bout slated for Jeju Island, South Korea, was canceled, 47-year-old former four-time champion, Evander Holyfield, could fight South African, Francois Botha, on Dec. 19, in Uganda. A good showing in the Botha fight could also lead to a possible title shot at WBC champion, Vitali Klitschko, Holyfield's manager, Ken Sanders, told FanHouse on Tuesday.
"We do this fight in December, then I'd say in February or March, we could have a championship fight with the WBC's Vitali Klitschko," said Sanders, whose contention is supported by comments made by WBC president, Jose Sulaiman.

Honestly, they'd be better off putting McCall in there. I really hope Holyfield doesn't get a shot at Klitschko. I'm sure Klitschko wouldn't want it anyway, as it would mean absolutely nothing.
would be a great match-up.. i would bet on Holyfield, you can call me crazy but anything can happen in heavyweight boxing and i am 100% sure that Holyfield would get at least one shot on Vitalis chin.. Vitali would be a massive odds-on favorite but i will be betting on the dog
if Holyfield had gotten his rightful dec. against Valuev then I would at least put up with this. But like Foreman losing to Briggs, sometimes it's a call to retire.
that said he'll probably beat Botha
Someones going to need to physically restrain Evander from getting into the ring with Klitschko if that fight ever happens. Would be absolutely horrible.
I agree, Holyfield has a death wish. It's not that I think he would literally get hurt in the ring, it's that at his age to continually be fighting and against a Klitchko is a bad idea.
How can a 47 year old shot fighter, who hasn't had a win since 2007 be considered for a title shot?
And four time champ... he's only really two time champ isn't he really?
It's a sad fact that so many boxers can't accept that their time is over and there is always that one more fight left, then another and another...a fight with Vitali would be so bad for Evander...someone would have to stop him from climbing in to get beaten by Vitali, but there will be no telling him...plus his financial issues will make it all the more sadly tempting for him to do so...I hope Vitali will object if this is to be made a mandatory by the WBC.
