In his fight with Vitali. He beat him by cutting his face to shreds. He threw the punch with an intent to do his opponent harm, and he did just that. How is that hard to understand? The fight wasn't the Vitali domination a lot of people seem to think either, it was very close and back and forth, but the difference is that Lewis was able to injury his opponent enough to stop him. END OF!
One of the worst cuts in a title fight I've ever seen! And it was caused by a punch! Meaning it was a TKO victory for Lewis!

dude why is this up for disscusion luck has nothing to do with boxing if somebody its oviesly of there own doing so how is it luck lennox earned that win!!!
Unlike Lewis, Vitali has an iron chin, never been down.
Vitali also has great stamina, he always gets stronger as the fight goes on. Vitali would've KO'd Lennox "I got KTFO twice" Lewis if the fight had continued.
Unlike Lewis, Vitali was in his prime and in shape and still lost the fight.
I was rooting for Vitali due to the anger of seeing a shot Tyson get Koed, but come on. Had that fight continued Vitali would have needed a walking stick and shades.
vitali is a great fighter but he is lucky that lewis wasnt prepard. if he had won, lennox would come back hungry and take vitali's eye out and eat it like a zulu
Well he had a lot of heart in that fight no doubt, but it was for his own good that the ref stopped that fight. The last thing he should have been doing with an eye like that is boxing. Just because he didn't knock him out cold doesn't mean he didn't wink by KO/TKO. I also thought Lewis was closing the gap as well, the eye was visually effecting Vitali, and I thought Lewis won the later rounds.
I know. You right about that and I stated that in my 1st post so you know I ain't makin an excuse for VK. Point I'm makin is VK, brave, foolish, or whatever you wanna call it was not done fightin. JCC-Taylor, Pea-Hurtado, Froch-Taylor, those were KO wins in fights they were losin that can't be called 'lucky escapes.' The scorecards ain't matter cuz somebody was gettin KTFO in the next 2 rds in this fight. I think it was gonna be LL. I'm just sayin LL ain't finish VK, the doc finished him. Not discreditin LL's win by no means. It was a gr8 fight and speaks well for him to have won a short notice fight that was brutal when he wasn't in top form. But in the context of your thread title, this win was a lucky one, simply cuz the doc decided for the fighter it was over when he was still ready to go.
You know what I meant homey. That's why I clarified that the win he got is valid in my view. I mean who woulda got truly KTFO if the fight kept goin. LL woulda gone down before VK did is what I was sayin. It wasn't a TKO where he stopped his man on his feet helpless and out of it. VK was ready to go and the doc shut em down.

Contradiction.

Yea he did get lucky. Not that it matters cuz a win is a win, and it was a TKO, rightfully so. But he was more tired and more hurt in that fight than VK was. He woulda been taken out if not for the stoppage.
basically what you're saying: He was winning... Till he LOST.

haha the racist bitch makes a counter thread
I will OWN you haters again!
THE TRUTH
Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards. Lewis was badly hurt and was staggering around the ring like a drunk, he barely survived the 2nd round, was getting outlanded and was hurt again later in the fight.
punches landed
Vitali 156
Lewis 102
Lewis was exhausted and worn down from the accumulation of punches, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission that night and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.
All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and boo'd Lewis after the fight. Vitali was the real winner of that fight, he battered Lewis into retirement.
Lewis promised Vitali a rematch
Vitali destroyed Johnson in 2 and the scared Lewis retired like a coward shortly after that fight.
Lewis turned down 25 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew Vitali would destroy him and tarnish his legacy.
The only thing that would have happened would be Vitali losing an eyeball and still getting stopped because I'm pretty sure there's a rule against fighting one eyed.
Yea he did get lucky. Not that it matters cuz a win is a win, and it was a TKO, rightfully so. But he was more tired and more hurt in that fight than VK was. He woulda been taken out if not for the stoppage.
I think either one of them couldve been taken out, it was that kinda fight

Personally I think a prime Lewis beats a prime Vitali 9 times out 10. Lewis wasn't even in his prime when he fought Vitali and he seemed to be in just slightly better condition to when he lost against Rahman. Even so, he still beat Vitali fair and square in that fight, if the fight would have continued Vitali may well be blind in one eye today. Having said that Vitali is no doubt one of the best fighters Lewis ever faced, and he faced a lot of good fighters in their prime.
Im a Lennox fan but think its naive to say Lennox didnt get a little lucky. He was losing the fight on the cards.
Either guy could have been knocked out at any stage though. And it must be said that it was nowhere near the best Lennox.
Luck has no place in a boxing ring. If you punch, you punch with an intent.
Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards.
Which exact rounds did Vitaly clearly win?
Vitali would destroy him and tarnish his legacy.
I thought you was a Vitaly fan? I didn't know you was a Vitaly hater.
Vitaly must really suck if lossing to him TARNISHES A FIGHTER LEGACY.
