if you didn't appreciate what Tito did in the ring.....then you just don't love WARRIORS!!!.....Tito is a ATG!!!....one of the BEST punchers EVER outside the HW division!!! :boxing:
At his best Trinidad was a attacking boxer puncher, with heavy hands especailly left hook, argubaly one of the hardest single punchers in history.
Trinidad's left hook was the most feared punch since Thomas Hearns's right cross at 147. Tito threw the hook with bad intentions and perfect levrage, if it landed cleanly, the end was near.
Trinidad was always dangerous, particularly after being knockedown in his prime. And was one of the best finishers in the game when he had you hurt.
Trinidads record at 147 was 36-0 with 30 KO's. He made 15 defences of his IBF 147 Title and unifed the division. He became the first man to clealry beat Pernell Whiatker and gave the unbeaten Oscar De La Hoya his first loss.
He then moved up to 154 and took the unbeaten scalps of World Champions David Reid and Fernando Vargas in devastating fashion. Before moving up and destroying WBA Middleweight Champion William Joppy in 5 devastating rounds.
Going into his fight with Bernard Hopkins, Trinidads record stood at 40-0, and he was already a three weight world champion.

Some people like to remember Trinidad for his recent form, were he suffered one sided defeats to Winky Wright and Roy Jones Jr. But at his best Trinidad was a forced to be reckoned with and his accomplishments speak for themselves.
Tito is my favorite fighter of all time. He is the sole reason I became a hardcore boxing fan. However, I don't have Tito in my top 50 ATG. But, he is an ATG. He is easily in the top 75 greatest fighter of all time. He is in the top 10-15 greatest WWs of all time. And, that division has over 100yrs of boxing history. I rank him way higher than Oscar. I thought he beat Oscar 7rds to 5. Matter of fact I don't think Oscar is ATG.
And, I would like somebody to school me about these "magical wraps" or "wrapping methods"
it wasnt power as much as it was his teams hand wrapping methods.
Even with the wraps (which imo is blown WAY out of proportion), you don't get that kind of timing, combination punching, and snap from the way your gloves are wrapped. You need to watch more Tito fights if that's what you think it's all about.
His win over Vargas overshadows many of his peer's wins. I rank it higher than ODLH's win over Quartey, especially since it was much, much more decisive.
Tito-Vargas was the fight that hooked me on boxing, so I will always have a soft spot for Felix. No homo!
If you dont think Tito was at least top 100 you are drinking some serious haterade.
do you have winky in the top 100?
Thats evident, his resume accomplishments and sick power speaks for itself!!!!
it wasnt power as much as it was his teams hand wrapping methods.
Who is Lopez??
Are you seriously asking me or trying to be funny? If it's the former then I have to question why you're even bring up the loss. If it's the latter then forget it. I understand he's no HOF'er but it's certainly no shame.
minnesota is too far ahead.
i just want the bears to beat out the packers for #2.
brady > manning
Tell the truth pinky, Peyton is destroying him this season.
the d is beat up right now. too many guys with no experience playing and guys playing out of position. even our 2nd string linebackers is injured. :nonono:
they cost me my first loss in fantasy this week.
i had hester as a wr , bears defense , bears defensive player and gould as my kicker.
4 spots gave me NOTHING.
plus maurice jones-drew and calvin johnson had bye weeks. :nonono:
i gotta have another packers avatar for another week now.
That sucks. I thought the Bears would have been too much for the Bengals. No worries though, you guys have a solid tune up next week. Also how amazing is Manning? He is playing the best football of his career in my opinion.
Trinidad has to be considered an ATG. I'm not saying top 20 or anything along those lines but definitely top 100. To me, he makes the top 50 easily. He has the accomplishments to be one and I think race has nothing to do with it. He was a 5 time champion in 3 divisions and has a stellar resume.
Although he became somewhat predictable once he became an elite fighter, he had the boxing skills to complement his power. I always say that his fight against Jake Rodriguez was a showing of pure boxing skill, to the point that it felt like watching a different fighter. He had the skills, but fell in love with the power and brawling.
You think Hearns has a granite chin?
LOL
The fukk you talking about. Sometimes I struggle to come to grips about how foolish you guys are. Where did you hear me say this?
Absolutely not Tito is by far one of my favorites from back in the day. I will not hesitate to say I rank Tito ahead of Oscar.
You think Hearns has a granite chin?
LOL
street bully is cool but he hates Tito with a passion for some reason.:ugh:
