Help me out here.
Damn, for a guy coming from 106, he sure didn't face many.
Twisting my words, never said he's solid, it cant be completely solid if he weighed 147 just hours prior to bulking up to 160. But Id rather face the weigh in Cotto than the rehydrated one.
Ok but here is what I am asking... Who is the bigger guy. that guy who weights 160 but not completely solid or the guy who weight 152-155 but is solid?
Okay, he was a quality opponent for a 19 year old? How old was Pacquaio at the time? What did this Sasakul (whom I admit I am not familiar with) accomplish in his career that makes you consider him a quality opponent? Did Sasakul win a championship at 112 or any weight division? Did he beat a high-quality opponent at 112? Is he still fighting?
At the time Pac was 19. And the Sasakul was the lineal champion at 112. Which makes the man, who beat, who beat, the man...
Sasakul already had solid victories against Juan Cordoba, Yuri Arbakolov(spelling?), and Young Jin Kim. And, had a compiled record of 33-1 At the time he fought Pac.
Sasakul retired a year ago with a record of 63-4.
This entire argument is moot. If they end up fighting and Mayweather beats Pacquaio (who supposedly has fought better competition), the haters will say that Pac was too small because he came from 106. Never mind that he beat Cotto and De La Hoya. I won't waste any more time on this thread because it is the equivalent of Einstein debating a high-school algebra student.
Oh I was beginning to think you werent a Floyd hater and nonbias at the same time.
You ask me a question on who I would rather face and I gave you an honest answer...
But, ok I go with what you are saying tho. That Cotto is not fat. So if he is solid at his walking weigh which would be a lil bit over 160 Right? He is solid he is losing muscle right?
This is the key point of your comments. Who are Pac's biggest opposition compared to Mayweather's. Name them and compare them to this list in terms of where they were in their career (champion? on the upside or downside?, etc). How may Ring Magazine champions has Pac fought, especially from 106 to 122 since you guys like to talk about how he started at 106? Compare that to Mayweather's list? If you do that, you will see that YOUR argument about Pac fighting better competition makes no sense.
This has been brought up over and over again but it is ignored because as of right now Boxingscene is ran by PAC fans and they choose to ignore the truth and instead substitute it with their own alternative reality where PAC fought Morales,Barerra,DLH,Hatton at the peak of their careers and with the cards stacked against him, when in fact none of those fighters were in their prime. And the only great he has fought in his prime, some argue beat him twice. Oh and his career prior to coming to America has been built up to be legendary when in fact throughout his first 30 or so fights his opponents record was something like 238-150. That includes his first 2-3 championships and several defenses.
So bottom line is your absolutely right, anywhere else but this boxing forum.
Chatchai Sasakul was really good quality opponent especially for a 19yr old. And, that was at 112 by the way.

Alot smaller than Manny, Ive already stated Manny was winning those fights because he was too big and too stong, not skill.
Manny was 19 and fighting a lineal champion. And, only won cuz of size so that means he is not a quality opponent? So if P-Will beats Floyd at 147. That would not make Floyd a quality opponent. Ok...
Pac's accomplishments speak for themselves. Besides, what does it matter who has fought bigger guys, pac's fought better opposition end of story.

Ok which would you rather fight, the Cotto on the day of the weigh in or the rehydrated Cotto the day after, since you seem to think he is worse after rehydrating.
I would rather retire and then comeback 2yrs later and fight a fighter 2 weightclass below me...
The JMM thing was last month. Floyd could not make 140 anymore. But, I was talking about at the time of the Judah fight. Which was 3yrs ago... I still think Floyd could make 140 but who knows.
Now if Cotto can make 145 comfortably. While Floyd could not get lower than 146. Who is really bigger?
its because floyd does what bhop did as middleweight champ he stays in fantastic shape all the time bhop never weighede more than 165 when he was champ floyd just stays in super shape
and my bad i thought you meant now instead of the time of the judah fight
GetSumBrah,
He won the title at 154 weighing 148. Mitchell was a career LW, Zab Judah was a career Jr WW. Mayweather was a career SFW. Zab outweighed Mayweather by 4 lbs and Mitchell outweghed Mayweather by 8 lbs. That can't be hard to understand can it?
he weighed 150 for the fight not 148 he SAID he weighed 148 but he would have said he weighed 120 if he thought people would believe him...and i hope you arent talking about sharmba mitchell it was his second fight at ww and he was coming off a 2nd wound ko after being dropped 5 times by kosta tzyeu
Youre talking after Singsurat? What about the 27 he had before that? Lets talk about many of those fights.
either or...go ahead and name them. You know damn well you can't homie, so just throw in the towel Buddy McGirt Style.lol
I wouldnt call it fat, its just weight thats getting back closer to his walk around weight. Cotto isnt fat when he's walking around.
Well what would you call it then? He is not solid that is for sure. Cuz tha wouldn't he losing some muscle mass going down to 147 and that would really hurt him no?
Fianally got the stats in
Of the 40 fights Floyd has been in; 15 times has Floyd weighed in as the bigger man which equates to 38% of his fight being the bigger man on the official scales
Of the 54 fights Pacquiao has been in; only 14 times has he stepped on the scale as the bigger man. That equates to 26% of his fights Manny has came in as the bigger man.
So there you go Dominicano Soy. Pac has faced bigger fighters more often than Floyd and at a higher rate when comparing percentages.
Why are people ducking these statistical facts. I guess people are more caught up with speculation than what has been proven.LOL
