Just rewatch the Froch/Dirrell fight. That's exactly why he never went over there. Why train for 4-6 months for a superfight that you clearly win, and get robbed like the Matrix did on Saturday. Calzaghe's got nothing on Froch. Joe would at least slap you on your arms and pull 8 or 9 rounds (somehow). Froch punched the air and beat Dirrell...lol
Ashame will never know prime vs prime Calzaghe/Roy. Lets just say that and give no outcome to a prime fight. Is that fair? We can stay here and speculate all day, but the truth is neither of us truly knows what would have happened. Too bad it couldn't have happened, I think Roy peaked earlier then Calzaghe, and Calzaghe peaked later in his career even though he was always pretty good.
Yeah, this is all conjecture honestly. It's terrible that us fans get screwed everytime, and we miss out on the best fights...too much politics
Dwyer thinks otherwise, he thinks Calzaghe probably had roys number since Roys money punch just like Lacy was his left-hook. Dwyers black, not a white man :D Guess he can't be biased, plus I believe he is an American.

@quake - I'd take Joe Calzaghe in his prime over Carl Froch. Calzaghe is simply too fast, skillful and elusive. Calzaghe also knew how to take away an opponent's money punch. Poor Jeff Lacy couldn't even use his left hook, nor could excellent left hooker Roy Jones. Ray Leonard - who gained weight to fight Donny Lalonde and beat him - would also be my choice over Froch. Again, too much speed, combinations and elusiveness. If Leonard avoided Hearns' right for 14 rounds, he could avoid Froch's money punches. Hagler wasn't a super middle, but was a much more skilled fighter than Froch. Let me see Paul Williams at 160 against Pavlik before I comment on a Williams v. Froch matchup. I wasn't impressed by his effort against Dirrell.
I agree with Dwyer, he is pretty intelligent.
I agree with him, for the most part, Froch never really did impress me. I think that's a case of UK fans looking for a Calzaghe replacement (look at the sig lol). But, Roy's left hook was much quicker and unorthodox than Lacy's. And, I can't say that Roy had a "best punch." His most useful punch depended on the fight. He might decide that he'll go southpaw and throw a lead right uppercut, and that'll be his best punch. Against Calzaghe, I could see Roy winning rather easily imo...
Erm.. he never went there because he didn't have to; Calzaghe came to Vegas as there was more money in it for both of them that way.
If your gibberish is supposed to be about earlier in their careers, there was no money in fighting Calzaghe anywhere, which is why neither he nor RJJ did.
I understand there was no money to be made. But, ppl (Mostly Calzaghe fans) were saying that Hop and RJJ were terrified of him, when they knew they had nothing to gain from it.
Yea, those grazing jabs were brutal. I'm not sure how Hopkins didn't go down.
These stupid GIF's man, they are played the **** out! Any idiot can take a 2 second clip of a fight and try and use it to make some kind of point. It's wack. Someone should do a compilation of the 160+ clinches Hopkins initiated in that 'fight'.

Calzaghe went to America and already beat Hopkins. Hopkins had the home-court in America, and it didn't stop Calzaghe from winning still.
How did your boyfriend like eating Calzaghes jab to the body and face?

I'm talking bout in their respective primes. You guys were always saying that B-Hop was scared of Calzaghe he didn't want to go to Wales. Froch/Dirrell proved why.
