Who would you have voted for?
Hopkins
Keith Holmes 36-2-0 - Unified IBF and WBC
Felix Trinidad 40-0-0 - Unified IBF, WBC and WBA
Tszyu
Sharmba Mitchell 47-2-0 - Unified WBC and WBA
Oktay Urkal 28-0-0
Zab Judah 27-0-0 - Unified WBC, WBA and IBF
I'm glad to see this started good conversation on both sides of the coin! I have made topics like this before where I have been embarrassed when everyone was on one side (was James Toney past his prime when he fought Roy Jones Jr. - I was the only one who voted yes).
Probably Hopkins.
That said, "Don't play with matches."

Zab Judah 27-0-0 - Unified WBC, WBA and IBFIf I remember right Kostya struggled with both Sharmba and Urkal. That's why Bernard won it that year...at least if my memory serves.
Hopkins, he won Don King's boxing tournment, revitalized the failing hearts of Americans after 9/11, and became undisputed middleweight king.
You crack me up
Out of those Hopkins/Trinidad. 2001 had some good fights that were better than any of those. For example Micky Ward/Emmanuel Agustus-Burton and Paulie Ayala/Bones Adams.
Fighter of the year, not fight of the year.
Tszyu. He was an underdog in both of his fights, apart from against Urkal who was the number one contender. Whilst B-Hop was an underdog, how he was an underdog is beyond me. Tito was good, but Hopkins should never have been much of an underdog, if not the favourite.
Trinidad was the only win that was on every P4P lists, but Kostya has 1 extra contender in Urkal and bonus points for him being undefeated.
In retrospect it'd be Kostya, but if this was for the end of 2001 it should be Hopkins.

Hopkins. The fashion in which he beat Tito was career defining. He didn't lose a second of the fight.
Kostya's win over Judah was great, but he was getting lit up before the huge punch.
I wouldn't argue either one, I wold just personally pick Hopkins.
