I learned a lot tonight says Dirrell.
Good I hope you mean that the next time you step in the ring, you will come to fight and even go for the knock out to try and secure two points. YOU COWARD. Glad you did not get the decision which you did not deserve. Why were you going down on Froch so much? Was it the smell of his crotch? You sure spent a lot of time down there.
Here you are given the chance to fully expose Froch (not hard to do btw) which is what you said you were going to do, you said you were going to do this and that and this and that and you didn't do jack shit.
did you learn that you get robbed in europe?
I think he learned he robbed himself and the crowd from what should have been a great fight. :nono: No more running from Dirrell I hope., or he will get the same thing he got tonight. Dirrell was in there with one of the worst of the group. He better step it up or kiss the tourney good bye.
He had success when he slugged with Froch and hurt him, less holding and I think he wins this fight without question. I had Dirrell winning, but it was very, very close. Hopefully he learns from it and comes back stronger.
Whether you like his style or not, Dirrell won that fight...I don't see where you could give Froch 7 rounds...
You're right, I agree completely. I just think when you fight the way he did, you can sometimes give the hometown boys a leg to stand on when they start trying to find ways to give their guy the nod lol
The old saying "you have to take the title from the champion" is true.
You have to beat the champ decisively, look like you really want it.
Leonard fought a very defensive fight against Hagler, ran a shitload....but he hit Hagler with those flurries that caught the judges eye. Add to that he was RAY LEONARD! If Ray had to do that, shouldn't Dirrell have to?
I got some props for this kid. He went into hostile territory and almost pulled the upset. His major problem to me was he got gassed and rattled so started clinching way too much. Also, its not a good look when you skirt the ropes racehorse style like he was doing. Mayweather used to do that as well, but now he stands more in the pocket or just uses core movement and his elbows, gloves, and shoulder roll to pick off shots, which is more impressive than skirting the ropes.. If you do defense the key is to make it still look good for the fans.
And Dirrell's evasiveness, though he showed flashes of promise and athleticism, did not look good today from a aesthetic viewpoint, imo
But I still have some props for him, and feel for him and his first loss. Which WAS controversial.
Maybe next time he will (more appropriately) dedicate his fight to the girl scouts.
Seriously the dude had everyone bored out of their wits. Imagine you are in the UK live. sitting there and it's like 3 in the morning and you have to watch this bitch run all night in a boxing tournament.
:ugh:
