I just watched this "24/7" like show last night and I had mixed feelings about it.
Going in I was hoping to learn more about Andre Dirrell, Kessler, and Abraham, because I don't know as much about those 3 fighters, but Fight Camp 360 didn't really concentrate much on the fighters themselves. Instead we watched a lot of negotiations and promoters shmoozing about. To be honest I thought that was very interesting. I've never seen that covered to that extent in any 24/7 and it was intriguing to me.
However, even though this was very interesting to me, it's not what I wanted to watch just before the fights this weekend. It would've been great if they showed that episode a couple weeks or a week earlier, and then aired an episode concentrated on fight preparations this week.
I give the first episode a B- but I think it has a lot of potential.
What are your impressions?
I loveeee it, Just started watching it on showtime and still 11 minutes into it and i can tell you i love it already, On the the first episode (The promoters bit) and i have to say this looks better than 24/7 already..
Glad you found it. Happy viewing.

I really liked it.. they could of shown more about each fighter.. but I like how they showed the promoters.. Cant wait to see the next episode with Kessler and ward.
I agree with your review, dans. Focusing on the (evil) promoters was fresh and very engaging.
I think it's cool that it's different than 24/7. 360 looks fine, but I'll admit that 24/7 often looks spectacular. I'm talking about the cinematography/camera work.
The thing is they make these shows half-an-hour, but for the hardcore fans we'd watch an hour long episode no problem, I think. They got to squeeze a lot of shit in 30 minutes and they're working with deadlines.
The cinematography in 24/7 is first class, some of the best on television.

I can't decide if Rafael's head is shaped more like a squash, or a pineapple.

That mofo really does look like this when he is at home.

Kessler and Ward will be the focal point of the next episode, along with recaps of this weekend's fights and where those four go from there.
I liked the way they split it up, although covering four fighters in one led to less screen time for each. Still, I like the route they're taking, because it will lead to far less redundancy. I can live with the cheesiness and staged scenes that come with 24/7, but its repetitive story lines and content are what has long ago turned me off from the series.
I really like hearing about fighter's families, I really do. But is it necessary that we hear this same line everytime.
"Although ______________ (insert fighter's name) has the biggest challenge of his career in front of him, he still finds time to spend with the family he loves and the house he calls home"
Cut to ______________ (insert fighter's name) playing soccer with their kids
I actually like the fact that they concentrated on the promoters.
imo those guys deserve as much credit as the fighters for actually making this tourney in the first place, by concentrating on the negotiations showtime revelead how this tourney was painstakingly put together and they deserve massive props as well.
i would have preferred for a main preview of the super 6 tourney, which briefly touched on the all fighters (ward and kess didn't get too much coverage) but also touched on the negotiations. then i would have preferred a mini fc360 in the build up to each fight with interviews with the boxer and his team, analysis from boxing journalists and a quick look at the training camp.
P.S. agree that fc360 seems more realiistic than 24/7 , hopefully fc360 they get rid of the deep narrators voice. that does my head in!!!

I really enjoyed it. It's not as flashy as 24/7, but it's much more realistic and raw.
I thought showing the promoters at work was great. It's something I've always wanted to see.
Me too, I just wish they did that earlier. I wanted to concentrate on the fighters more with the fights so close.

I agree, I think it was a great idea but it would've been better earlier and then like you said, do the episodes concentrating on the fighters leading into the fights.
