or should i just say...american.
their managers tell them to cash in on their blood line even though they dont give a shit about their roots. i was watching ronnie rios(sucks btw) on FSN in spanish. i see "mexico" on his trunks. see the post fight interview, and the fraud has broken spanish like a mother fucker, he basically cant speak spanish. rocky juarez wears mexican colored trunks and comes out to mexican music and he cant even speak spanish. my question to them is when is the last time they went to mexico? do they care about keeping the heritage? do they even care about mexicans? im tired of these fucking panzy ass pochos exploiting the mexican people. im thinking im going to go pro just for the purpose of smashing their fucking faces in, show them what a real mexican-american is.
im not saying i hate mexican-americans, just dont go around exploiting people.
I'm not a pro boxer now and I claim my roots because thats how I was raised. Ovena or chorizo with some Ibarra chocolate in the morning for breakfast, jarritos and a taco de asada for lunch, and beans, sopita and carne for dinner followed by some tasty jamaica.
lol at you knowing these boxers personally to judge them on how they advertise themselves.
I'm deeply proud of my culture why wouldn't I claim my roots?
What the hell is Ovena?! Don't you mean AAAAvena?!?!?
We're talking about fighters remember?
So, who are these guys?
i thought i already told you? you got me you win buddy. you never answered my question clearly.
and stfu already. point is that mexicans are the most exploited fan base in boxing you dumb bitch. open your mind a little will ya. you see fights taking place on 5 de mayo weekend or mexican independance day all the time. bob arum is the leader in this exploitation. his "mexicans for manny" campaign was one example. line up all the big name mexican fighters in his stable and side them all with manny, try and help the cash flow a little ya know?
thank you!
but some of these idiots think that Top Rank puts on "latin fury" & the new found "pinoy power" all for fun? some of these idiots think that fights are held on mexican holidays for fun? there is a good mexican or mexican-american kid and promoters are on the scout like no tomorrow for a reason.
As my good friend Kobe once said, "Don't hate the player, hate the game."
Most boxing fans tend to support fighter's of their own nationality. It seems logical that there would be marketing campaigns aimed at this, no matter how petty they are.
I dont get why sooooo many people dont seem to understand the point the TS was making, Its pretty obvious that promoters like Top rank, Golden boy are exploiting and putting boxers who are from latino heritage on the spot by having them acknowledge "their" when they would normally wouldnt or when they dont they want to.
I have seen alot of Filipino boxers trying to do they samething as well, Its a market that boxers like to exploit nowdays......Victor ortiz is a great example.
thank you!
i was not attacking race or nationality, i was attacking a certain kind of person!

I'm Mexican-American, but I love Chinese culture. I love their ceremonies, food, traditions and language. I even managed to learn Cantonese and a bit of Mandarin a few summers ago. I want to become a top boxer and represent the U.S., but my manager says I have to pander to the Mexican community which I never truly felt apart of. I know Spanish and I've followed Mexican traditions to a tee, but I never placed too much importance in them other than that they were what I grew up with. And yet they never defined who I was. I figured I could be Chinese, American or anything else as long as I immersed myself in the language and culture. Then I began to realize that race did not necessarily have to define who I was as a person. It would only define me if I wanted it to. So I ignored my manager's advice and sold myself as who I was. Not what people choose to label me. I ended up building a fan base of Mexicans anyway, because of my style of fighting and last name, without ever having to put a single Mexican flag or sombrero anywhere on my body.
True Story.
Some actually do. All over Central and South America the white people migrate back to Spain or Portugal. Even in the states you got people proud that their German or English etc etc.
Why ALL of them don't take pride to every fine detail of who they are is obvious. Some are too mixed and some are just proud to be American or just proud to be Mexican. A lot of us have some Spanish ancestry, but you wouldn't know it unless you took a f*ckin DNA test.....since that's the only way to see that shit.
well what ever dude, the fact is that frauds do exist.
As a Mexican-American who doesn't speak a word of spanish, screw you.
When I go to the gym, I feel a strong sense of pride to perform well to honor my Mexican heratige. Do you feel the same way about your German heratige?
Like you need to over-perform to uphold the good name of your ancestry? I know those that came before me and the "don't quit" attitude so that's something I have in the back of my head when I fight.
Do I need to learn Spanish? Of course. I feel like I let Latino's down when the come into my work and I can't communicate with them. It's something I plan to learn.
I've never been to Mexico and I even attended a predominantly white school. But I guarantee you, that no one feels more pride about their bloodlines and heratige than I do. I promise you that.
i was not refering to you. i was refering to mexican-americans that dont give a shit about their heritage but start representing it with money on their mind.
your family dumps your ass years ago. they dont even care about you. one day you win the lottery and they come running backhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2.gif to you. what do you think? are they coming back to you because of you or your money?
Exactly...
lol This shit is retarded, if you're decedent of Mexicans and grew up in f*ckin Endo China, you're still Mexican. As for a loss of heritage or customs, that's just what comes with living in a new territory.
As for Juarez, Rios, and who ever the f*ck you guys are talkin about.....at least they aren't part German acting like they know what a real Mexican is lmao. I mean seriously, lol what the f*ck is this exactly?
If Juarez stayed knocked dudes out, you'd probably be on his nuts tighter than a pair of Hanes. And the kid was born here, doesn't know Spanish, but he still has the nerve to throw his roots on his trunks and get in the ring. But that pisses you off? lol Shutttt the f*ck up.
It's the Mex-American that doesn't even bother addressing who he is that you'd have a point against. Someone who just completely ignores who he is. But these guys, lol you got no f*ckin place to speak against them.
so why dont you represent your spanish blood? why dont euro americans represent the uk or germany?
You're talking as though Mexican and Mexican-American fight fans follow a fighter mindlessly simply because he wears Mexican colors or has a Mexican flag on his trunks. We deserve more credit than that.
truth is that some boxing fans are patriotic, whats bad about that? but they also are fans of many fighters from all back grounds...that are not greedy fakes.
its part of the business. some are probably not really that patriotic about their country.pretty much it.
Moving up was for sure in issue. Your an idiot if you don't think that.
I totally agree that Mayweather's style is all wrong for Marquez because of Marquez's SIZE. But had Marquez at least been the same size to where he could effectively use the jab it could have made it more competitive.
Was Mayweather was the bigger fighter? For sure. Bigger in both height and weight. De La Hoya, who is taller, could effectively use the jab on Mayweather. Marquez, noticeably shorter, jab was just hitting air. If Marquez was the same size as Mayweather or De La Hoya do you think he would have been getting raped by the pull-counters? No. He'd still be hit with it because Mayweather's a great fighter. But nowhere near the way he was abused with it.
Was Mayweather the faster fighter? Of course, he's naturally faster than Marquez but add in the fact that Marquez was carrying more weight than he was used to and it just adds more to Mayweather's advantage.
Hey, I'm not saying that Marquez had much of a shot at Mayweather in any weight class of his career but let's not confuse the facts. The weight only added more advantages to Mayweather.
I agree with this whole post. Great job. Green K for you for...
Moving up a division wasn't the issue.

LOOK bro, stop being a pussy, Im just saying Mexican boxing has been K.O-ed
You lose and win some understand? LOL
KOd would mean they are irrelevant to the sport.
Which they are not and never will be.
You laughing to yourself won't change that.
Juanmas still a prospect until he gets exposed or becomes what hes hyped up to be, for me. And that 5 shit is in the past, FOR NOWm Nexican boxing is in the dumps, Vasquez beat a bum his last fight. I dont know how esle to explain this, but Mexican boxing is running thin, they had great times, their just in the DUMPS right now, nothing more I wanna see Mexican boxing do good, so we could contuine this PR/Mexico shit, but sadly Pac destoryed your whole team, now
their prospects, what u think :la:
How does a prospect have a belt?
Gamboa is a prospect, but someone with a belt is beyond that stage.
3 Mexicans in the top ten and the time for Mexican boxing is over?
Have their ever been 3 ricans in at the same time?
How about 5?
Their kool yet u shit on them lol IM the bad guy, you need ppl like me to point your stinkin finger lol what I heard was a weak reply by somebody calling a truce when their is nothing really happin right now LOL
I don't shit on them, just you.
Lopez and Gamboa are exciting fighters to watch.
They're just not in the top 10 like 3 Mexicans.
Hey did you see Sanchez on Monday night? He came on late, but that last drive by the Dolphins got'em. :pat:
Yea, I seen it.
Kid can just flat out play.
Its the beans and tortillas.
I'm hoping I get a Sanchez jersey for christmas.
lol Out of all the Rican fans, why you always look so desperate? Just cause your dudes are ass, doesn't mean that's end of the world..
Hes the rican version of "Chicano".
Most of the other Rican brothers are cool and call it how it really is.
This guy,
mad at the world cause his bitch was taken by a Mexican.
Marquez got pwned, sorry. And Miguels gonna knock out Pac, to the shame of Mexican fighters who could not do it.....Vasquez is going be dealt with by Lopez and Marquez by Gamboa.
Your old guys count 500 senior citizens !! Sorry but thats just impossible having so meny "old guys"
Marquez got owned, whoopdeewhoo.
I called it as soon as the fight was announced. He should have gotten knocked out seeing as he was out of his element by fighting 3 divisions north of his best weight.
and I expect Miguel to knock out Pac, hes bigger, hits harder and has taken punches from larger men.
Lopez is having trouble getting into the ring with Caba, much less Izzy or Rafa.
Come back after hes actually done something.
The funny thing is,
I like Lopez and Gamboa too.
But, I don't ride with fighters just because they are of the same heritage.
Now go pluck your brows.
Mexican boxing is taking a dirt nap, Manny put them to sleep !! Cubans and Pierto Ricans will battle it out now while they slumber !!
1. Manny Pacquiao
#
2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
3. Shane Mosley
4. Bernard Hopkins
5. Juan Manuel Marquez
6. Nonito Donaire
7. Miguel Cotto
8. Celestino Caballero
9. Israel Vazquez
10. Rafael Marquez
hmmm, 3 Mexicans in the top ten and only 1 rican?
