With Jones-Hopkins 2 coming 16 years after the first fight, I'm wondering if that will be the longest time between a first fight and a rematch?
Looking for some of our boxing historians to answer this one.
uh-huh...and exactly what were YOU doing there? that's right...even the haters secretly admire greatness...my work in exposing you is done here
I was in San Francisco to watch Pacquiao throw out the first pitch at the Giants game. You should know this, being a Pac nuthugger as well.
Jones-Hopkins II may be the longest time between fights for two major boxers who have never retired and have been consistantly active.
That's why it's going to be huge. Even though they're old timers, it makes for great drama and it's like the last hurrah for both fighters.
king kong fans are the biggest stans in all of sports
Red k given for bullshitism and ignorantism.
Everyone knows Zilla fans are the ultimate stans. You should know best after I saw you camped outside of the 2009 Godzilla convention 3 days before it opened.
Wow 21 years! That's incredible but only shows that both fought on for too long.
This will probably be the biggest gap where both fights are somewhat significant.

What the hell are you talking about???
Rocky was clearly on roids for the rematch, didn't you notice how he bulked up from the 2nd Creed fight. I doubt those muscles just "appeared" one day. Mickey was feeding him the cream and the clear for years.
You and Makavelli should start a user group, "Dillusional Clubber Lang and Godzilla stans who make up lame excuses why their idols were embarrased".
:bryce:
you're a Lang hater too?!?!?!? good gawd...you miserable human being
Lang was completely overrated and was KOed in 3 during his prime against a "past it" Balboa. Again, disgraceful.

top monsters my ass...he's fighting 90lb natives...pussy
He took two tuneups before the Cloverleaf showdown and all the sudden he's a pussy. Unbelievable. I understand you Zilla stans because I used to be one, but god you make me sick.
when King Kong finally grows a pair of nuts, Godzilla is STILL waiting...that's about 30 years right there
Fight will never be signed. Zilla is a diva and wants 65-35 minimum. Kong can stay on Skull Island and promote his own PPVs while still fighting top monsters. Meanwhile Zilla will scam the public and take catchweight fights with smaller monsters that have no shot of beating him. Disgraceful.
And just remember when you start talking about monsters needing to grow a pair.....

Larry Holmes first fought Mike Weaver in 1979, then fought him again in 2000. He fought James 'Bonecrusher' Smith in 1984 and 1999.

Okay I just found this, Jeff Fenech and Azumah Nelson were 16 years apart from their second to third fight.
By the time Roy and Hopkins fight it will be nearly 17 years since their first fight! Wow.
That is right, I forgot about that one. That is amazing though.
