1 Floyd Mayweather Jr 1794 40(25)-0(0)-0
2 Shane Mosley 1741 46(39)-5(0)-0

5 Andre Berto 837 25(19)-0(0)-0
Since winning the WW Tittle in 2006, PBF has not fight a true WW, but all of the sudden after beating a lifetime featherweight, now he is the top WW?!?!?! What a focking joke!!! How people keep defending PBF's career since he beated JUDAH is amazing. Floyd is definitely NOT THE BEST WelterWeight out there.
I agree that SSM should be over Cotto, but Maragrito at number 3 is a hell of a joke too. Cotto is not receiving the credit he deserves. You may argue on who got a better record as a WW between Cotto and SSM. SSM is the man to beat in the division right now. Too bad, PBF is scare to fight him.
Berto is sitting there at number 5, which is probably the place he deserves to be, specially when Clottey lost to Cotto. The rest of the top 10 is arguable. Quintana is number 15, mainly due to his inactivity. Cintron and PW are considered a LMW, 3rd and 1st, respectively. Gomez at 11th and Judah at 12th is another bad joke.
I wonder what would happen if Paul Williams decides to have another fight at 147lbs. How will he change the rankings? PW may face anybody and MUST be place at number 1 if you keep track of what they did with MayWeather. In PW case, there is no boxer at WW or LWW willing to fight him. Not even SSM, Cotto, and obviously PBF.
only thing i can say is...judah knocked out spinks who was lineal ww champ....baldomir beat judah....mayweather dominated judah and baldomir. jus like some people had calzaghe as the number one LHW Champ....he didnt beat anybody...he beat Hopkins...

Mayweather =
former lineal Welterweight Champion.
Props to:fitzgeraldz
First 1.5 yrs as a pro, won a world title - without a title eliminator or interim title ... and in his first 17 or 18 fights
10 consecutive years as a world champion
5-WBC titles in as many weight classes
6-time world champion, in his first 10 yrs as pro
all championships he won were off of reigning champions - no vacant titles - he was a challenger in a fight 6 times and has a 6-0 2KO
15 current/former world champions faced
20-title fights (20-0 record)
3 linear titles
all this happened during a streak of 39 straight victories and within the first 10 yrs of his professional career.
No one in the history of boxing has accomplished that without havinng taken a loss or more
He's only 1 championship away from tying the record held by Sugar Ray Robinson and thats winning 7 world champions ...
He's currently tied with Sugar Ray Leonard with legitimized championship in 5 different weight classes.
I'm not saying you have to like the man but he's one of the best of all-time ...
It also has been confirmed that (not including linear titles) Pacquiao has won titles in only 4 weight classes (with as many alphabet titles) and Oscar didn't have many legitimized titles ...
1. Floyd Mayweather Jr. pro debut was 10/11/1996
and he won his first World Title on 10/03/1998
thats 8 days short from 2 years. So it is not 1.5 years.
2. What are legitimized titles???
Oscar De La Hoya
1st Title: 130 WBO Super Featherweight Title
2nd Title: 135 Vacant WBO Lightweight Title
3rd Title: 140 WBC Light Welterweight Title
4th Title: 147 WBC Welterweight Title
5th Title: 154 WBC Light Middleweight Title
6th Title: 160 WBO Middleweight Title

IF Juan Manuel Lopez decides to fight at 140 againts another former 122lbs fighter and wins. He will be the #1 Jr Welter according to Boxrec.
Let me see,,where on Mayweathers great list of accomplishments does it contain a win vs a great or even very good, solid natural welterweight, who was peak, or at his natural weight.
You need to learn exactlkyl why Mayweather can have 100 wins and will never be considered up there with a Leonard etc. That is because it is qualilty over quantity.
Mayweather = Last Lineal Welterweight Champion.

So that tells me he has been fighting top welters
Since this tells you he has been fightiing top welter...
Why dont you list who these TOP WELTERS, WHO ARE GREAT AND NATURAL WELTERWEIGHTS ARE. This should be interesting.

really? look at his last 4 fights. quit against tony, beat 2 bums and struggled with clottey. so 4th on the list is correct.

The worst site in ranking boxer's in my opinion. Their ranking is actually a joke nobody takes it seriously.
In defense Floyd is the last Lineal champ, no welter fighting today other than Judah has held that throne.
Lol like how how gave Berto the WBC belt and still let him fight "opponents"....what a joke...I bet he's scared shitless that he has to fight Mosley or Mayweather
I average about once a year up there lately, same trick my bro in law got me with, get ya tipsy then beat ya on pool table, lol. I love Charlotte though.
I've only been to Charlotte a few times besides to fly back home to Providence. I did go this past new years eve to a club called "Bar Charlotte" and it off the chain! Women everywhere! Probably the best time I've had since moving to NC.
1) Sugar Shane Mosley (Close fight with Cotto and destroyed the last real lineal champ, Margarito)
2)Antonio Margarito (Until he comes back either reinforces or drops down)
3) Miguel Cotto (Close fight with Mosley and beat Clottey)
4)Joshua Clottey (Gave Marg and Cotto a hell of a fight and is a threat to any true WW)
5)Floyd Mayweather .... Self explanatory
That is my list of the top WW
Mostly Charlotte, he plays football, doesnt hardly play though, he had a good ranking coming out of high school, but they switched his position. Vince Jacobs is his name.
Thats cool. You ever visit your family in Charlotte? If so let me know the next time you're down this way and we can meet up. I'll buy you a drink than take all your money on the pool table. :biggthump
Last time Floyd beat a WW was almost 3 years ago, the legendary Carlos Baldomir.
But Boxrec uses a point system that takes into account all of the boxer's fights, regardless of weight class. Floyd's resume is pretty good and he doesn't have any defeats (at least on paper,) so his point total is the highest in the division.
