:rofl: Don't be that much of a Hopkins hater. Man, the guy went to visit a sick white kid with cancer and put the boxing gloves he used to beat Pavlik in the kid's casket if I remember right. You won't give Hopkins credit where credit is due it seems like.
The kid was a pavlik fan... :rofl:
I'm fine with a tuneup as long as they don't try to sell it as anything more than a tune up
Yeah that's only fair. Bernard needs this tune-up. I reckon this fight is going to mean the most to Bernard out of any fight since the rematch to Jermain Taylor. He wants to be in perfect condition.
We as fans will want to see him in perfect condition. Let him do this tune-up and donate his earnings to a charity (brilliant). It would be good to see this on regular TV stations in the U.S.
Bernard Hopkins is an ATG and a first ballot Hall of Famer but, even elites like him need a tuneup before a big fight. I would've def picked somebody a little better than Enrique Ornelas tho(Marco Antonio Rubio? Epifano Mendoza? Chris Henry? or any lower end MW, SMD, or LHW.)
Which one?? The Black Power Association??

I'm one that don't see this fight as a legit tune up either. At least fight someone like Yusaf Mack or a guy like that. This just adds fuel to the fire that Hopkins always makes opponents move up in weight even though I think that can be over played in some cases.
He is fighting for free. All the money is going to charity.
A middleweight?? At least have a tune up against a motherfucker in your weight division. I don't see how some Hopkins fans see this as a legit tune up.

His opponent has fought most of his career at 168, he just fought the last few years at 160 and then he moved back up to 168 for his last fight. In fact he had a string of fights at 168 when Hopkins was at 160. Hopkins in a sense is a blown up fighter himself so please quit crying over him picking on smaller guys considering he was recently chasing the cruiserweight champ.
I hope Bernard Hopkins has a tune-up fight that ends in disaster! I would love to see B-Hop lose this fight so i can see that stupid look that i seen on his ugly ass face when he faced off against Jermaine Taylor. Why the fvck is this guy even still fighting?... doesn't he know when to give it up already! what a ****ing tool man. God, even the slight mention of his name makes me shrivel in disgust!
He's boring, he's old, he sucks!!!!:wtf1::ugh1:
You have issues. He is also more skilled that your favorite fighters, so I do not know where you get this "he sucks" thing.

Would it make a difference, really? What lower level LHW would have a chance against Hopkins? This will be a glorified sparring session that will end in a KO win for Hopkins nothing more.
Hmmm. Coming off a layoff and taking on a smaller fighter.
This rationalizing should be interesting.
This isn't for "p4p" supremacy. It is a tune up nothing more nothing less. It isn't a glorified tuneup like Floyd vs JMM.

God forbid a 44 year old man has a tune up after a year on the shelf has a tune up. | BoxingScene Community
